According to Elkington, results from a series of chemical, spectagraphic, crystallographic, and corrosion tests strongly support a 1st century dating of the metal. The letters themselves have been molded with the lead and are also corroded, he noted. It is nearly impossible to artificially corrode lead, Elkington continued, pointing out that no scholars have thus far been able to answer how it could have been done. In addition, the ancient language used in the metal books is only known by a handful of experts, he said. On the radio last night. David Elkington was on saying the books have been examined and found to be real. It's going to be a while before the stories are released. He said it was old hebrew, probably some language Moses used and that there are only like 5 people in the world who can decipher it. Expect the media to jump on this...heard it here first.
lol. Atheists are going to far lenghts to prove this false and to attain them. The Jordan government wants them and if they get them they will never release the information in these books. They are AFRAID! because the books prove Jesus was real, with science. right now about 20 or so books have been looked at by scientists and been proven to be real.

Except later you say "Expect the media to jump on this...heard it here first." - make your mind up. Unsubstantiated claims on a radio show isn't proof of anything. When results from independent scientific studies are published in a peer reviewed journal, you'll have something to shout about. The Wikipedia article you linked suggests lots of questions about their authenticity and very little in response to verify them. Well, this one is going to post this and then go for a late lunch. I can't speak for any others. I'm already fairly confident Jesus was a real person (though the true details about him are unclear). I'm not too sure about him being "truly a king of Israel" and I obviously don't believe he was the son of God. These Codices would be an very interesting archaeological and historical find (if authentic) but that is as far as it goes.
The codices are REAL.. but no one knows how old they are. They could be 500 years old. People have been faking artifacts forever.
and moses was thought to walk about 1300bc and akkadian was the writing of canaan during that period jesus was thought to talk aramaic if old jews put a picture on the book, it was not about jesus. Perhaps of a messiah but not jesus. No one knows what jesus looked like. The books are cast not scribed. The only thing that makes them appear old is the decay. the smelting if of the region but that aint proof there is a bunch to suggest a hodgpodge of combined items and so far the main claims are closer to phoenician (zoroasterissm) and/or kabbalah (jewish mysticism) Nothing in there about jesus ie...... messianic does not mean christian as christianity has always tried to consider jesus the messiah but jews (most all of them) have come to terms that jesus was not messiah. (even jesus said it (matt 16;20) and all over the bible) The thread is using many items to try and suggest the books represent jesus but if someone was to share the book of thomas, book of mary (gnostic texts) which claim to be of jesus' period and jesus words, they contradict what bible represents and people deny them. If the books date to the 1 century BC, then they can't prove Jesus existed. Jesus was alive in the 1st Century AD.

What makes you so sure? It seems to me that nothing has been confirmed either way. Couldn't you have a little confirmation bias in wanting these artifacts to be what you believe them to be because you feel they would validate your religous beliefs?
It would be great if they were real as presently the oldest manuscripts of the NT are dated 2cnd century. The beliefs of the early Christians differed substantially from what Christians today believe so if anything such a find would do more to debunk modern Christianity rather than support it.
