Kamala Harris has taken an 8 percentage point lead over Donald Trump, according to a new poll.

The survey, conducted by Marquette Law School between July 24 and August 1, shows that when third party candidates are included, Harris leads among likely voters with 50 percent of the vote to Trump's 42 percent. The surge by Harris has improved the Democrats' position since May, when Trump was leading with 44 percent of the vote to Joe Biden's 41 percent.

The polls have looked positive for Harris since she launched her campaign in July. All national poll aggregators now show she is in the lead, including pollster Nate Silver's model, which compiles the results of statewide polls and weights them based on reliability.

Ahead in RCP battleground state averages, first time in a long time Dems have it.

    Look at all that blue!
It was all red with Biden just a few weeks ago, what a major turn around. And, have you seen her rallies? They are HUGE!

Clearly, his Joe's stepping down was the right move.

Thank you Joe, you're the real Joe Kool !

    And Trump people are concerned.

    Well, they should be.

Oh,. 'the polls are meaningless' you say? But they do point to the fact that

    THE TIDE IS TURNING

Trump is scrambling for a defense strategy, throwing everything up at the wall and nothing is sticking. He's really flustered. And his weirdo running mate ain't helping, either. It really looks like Trump is becoming more and more unhinged.

    Trump is running scared.

And Tim Walz, what a great guy he is, I mean, high school teach/football coach (took them to a championship), voted 'most inspirational' in the yearbook, 24 years as a National Guardsman, highest enlisted rank for a congressman, was a congressman and now Governor of Minnesota..

But, Dems, let's not get ahead of ourselves and get complacent (like Repubs were). to win she will have to do even better than this. So, Make sure y'all vote and get your friends out to the polls, vote early, if you can. Let's win this thing.

Disregarding all the other polls to the contrary, of course.

I never said most were not to the contrary. You picked the single poll which was most favorable to Biden.

    Now pay close attention:

RCP is NOT a single poll. It is the AVERAGES of ALL THE SIGNIFICANT polls, INCLUDING the ones not favorable, which, DUH, averages are based on. Oh, you're referring to the lead line, well, that's just PART of the OP. Did you read the rest of the post which DID, in FACT, include other polls?

    doesn't look like it.

Enjoy that honeymoon phase. I wonder if it will last once she actually has to answer questions and not just give blanket statements.

I’m not surprised. This should have been expected. If one were following the polls, the mood of the country since the midterms of 2022, around 60% of all Americans didn’t want Biden to run for reelection, 57% didn’t want Trump to run again either. This was there for both major parties to see. Around 30% of the electorate disliked and didn’t want neither Trump nor Biden as the next president. Again, ignored by both major parties during their primaries. It was only after a bad debate performance by Biden that the democrats panic forcing Biden to withdraw.

Now that one of the disliked and unwanted candidates is gone, the replacement candidate will definitely benefit. Different candidates are what most Americans wanted. In July 53% of all Americans would replace both Biden and Trump on the ballot if they could, 63% described both Biden and Trump as embarrassing.

    https://www.pewresearch.org/politic...ntal-sharpness-trump-leads-presidential-race/

What Harris does is give the voters what they wanted, a candidate not named Trump or Biden. Harris gives them a younger, fresher candidate, not some old has been foggie. The democratic share of the intended vote has increased from 39.2% with Biden on 21 July to 45.3% with Harris this AM and is rising. While Harris’s support has risen 6 points over the last two weeks, Trump’s rose only 1 point from 43.4% to 44.5%.

    https://www.realclearpolling.com/po...24/trump-vs-biden-vs-kennedy-vs-west-vs-stein

    https://www.realclearpolling.com/po...4/trump-vs-harris-vs-kennedy-vs-stein-vs-west

The bottom line is those in that 30% group which disliked and didn’t want neither Trump nor Biden to become the next president, some have moved from not supporting either Trump nor Biden to supporting Harris only because she’s not Trump nor Biden. That Group of 30% has dropped to a bit more than 20% of the electorate. Perhaps the only thing that could stop Harris from becoming the next president is if the republicans also changed, swapped out their presidential candidate with someone else. The dislike and unwantedness of Trump are still there among that group of 30% which because of that some are peeling off not wanting neither Trump and Biden to being satisfied with Harris. This group of 30% really doesn’t know Harris other than she’s the VP. Will this peeling off continue as this group of 30% gets to know Harris better? Only time will provide that answer.

As long as your mango felon keeps talking, there is no need for Kamala to say a word. Trump is her best speaker for her campaign. Lol

How does Harris have any lead at all? Oh, that's right, she said Americans are stupid.

Harris went from the worst VP ever polled to a lead in a presidential election? How did she do that when she has no current policy positions and she has back tracked from many of the ones she had in the past. Her website doesn't list anything about what she will do if she wins and she won't even talk to reporters or do interviews. The ONLY politician I've ever seen run from a microphone and camera is Biden. Her handlers are going to keep her in the basement and let the lib media campaign for her.

its smart not to let the cackling Hyena talk. her affected laughing is the sign of some serious mental illness and she's a bubblehead as well

when I ask people such as you what policy decisions cause your worship of your DEI pick, all I see is rants about Trump

It is called a COUP.. When the Democrats "install" a candidate not voted for by the citizens... the millions of Democrat primary votes were tossed aside and their candidate "installed"... this is the way communist countries do it, looks like the Democrats are also... not 1 U.S. citizen voted for Harass to replace Biden... millions of primary votes where nullified when the COUP took place...

God, what nonsense what has to read!

The word "coup" is short for "coup d'état". Which literally could be translated to "blow of state" or "hit at the state". The Democratic party is NOT a "state".

The way that statistical sampling is set up, 95% of the time you will get a result that fits within the margin of error of that poll. The remaining 5% of the time, you will get a statistical outlier that is entirely inaccurate in either direction, and it will not comport with the overwhelming bulk of all other polling on the subject. With the cacophony of polling that takes place during a Presidential election, this 5% rule will come into play on a regular basis.

Based on seeing you do this exact same thing countless times in the past, the board can always rely upon you to spread the word about any statistical outlier that favors the Democrat candidates.

None of this means a hill of beans, but you breathlessly report it as if it does.

Most honeymoon phases last at least three months, guess what? That's into ROEvember. Trump's only chance is to try, with help, to steal the Presidency again and......NOT GOING TO HAPPEN on Joe's watch :). SCOTUS already said Ole' Joey is the reigning King.

What’s ironic, compared to Trump/Biden’s polls, Harris leads Trump by at least 1%.
