Here is a good site to follow due to how important China is.
China has come to dominate American's lives in many ways.
We consume their products. Massachusetts has their China Rail system running.
We get virtually no China news from our own media.
So watch this to learn important things.

Such as Japan has ramped up defense spending a lot due to China.
Such as American Samoa is deep in debt to China.

    Much more on this site.

I am shocked Americans are letting this slide by as if not to worry about China.

The Euros are confronting the Chinese over Taiwan.

‘Vile’: China threatens European Union over vote in support of Taiwan
European Union legislators voted overwhelmingly in favor of trade talks with Taiwan and other measures flouting China’s claims to sovereignty over the island, leaving officials in Beijing fuming at the display of tension between Western democracies and the communist regime. . . .

Most Americans (and even politicians and lawmakers) let their minds be marched to the drumbeat of the news media.

If the news media doesn't explicitly tell them something (or intentionally lead them to believe something), they don't think it.
