Immigrants have been relocating to the UK for many years, many years, including those from former or current Commonwealth nations. I hope you don't evoke racism to judge who belongs and who doesn't.
You can play the race card all you want but illegals come in all races. The UK is absolutely ****ed. Ironically, you're getting a taste of reverse colonialism.
....so you don't think he'll re-discover his Pabloist past them.....carry on with the manipulate of the organs of power and justice like Blair did....continue the subversion of Parliamentary supremacy in favour of a socialist based legal system so as impose dynastic marxist continuation......bwahahah....just saying.......remember Starmer is a Marxist at heart....
He was powerful enough to expel the previous (very left wing) leader - the one who members enthusiatically elected and re-elected until he almost destroyed the party. Also powerful enough to expel or withdraw the whip from other senior left wing MPs. And all of this BEFORE he led the party to a historic win. So, not the only onw with a say, but the loudest voice in the room by an incredibly wide margin. As I said, believing he is going to lead the party to some 'woke Marxist' future is utterly delusional.
you say that....I on the other hand merely remain hopeful.....but I wouldn't bet the pension on it.....not after listening to the types of narratives being developed and not after watching Question Time last night either. For a while now, there's been this creeping insidious narrative of trying to shut down discussion in UK politics if it's not determined to be orthodox. We have an ever diminishing canon of perspectives within which we are expected to live and if one wishes to explore the limits you become an object of derision and ridicule. Debate is rapidly becoming as banal as listening to teenagers on social media. Just because people have a different take on things or a different view of life doesn't make them or their outlook heretics or heretical to be shut down and shut off. We are a small country but have a vast range of ethnicity and religion and social outlooks and a wide and diverse social background...people from Virginia Water likely have a vastly different view of life than someone from Dewsbury......one viewpoint does not fit all in this country.
Sounds like a much bigger issue & a much broader discussion....probably not for today or for this thread. I remain confident that Sir Keir of the CPS isn't going to be launching a socialist revolution from No.10. He will be far too busy trying to work out how to raise the quality of government services in Britain from their current 'catastrophic' state to at least 'barely functioning'. Stalin or Mao on their most dictatorial days would be daunted by such a task.
Your racist post was unfortunate if you meant to suggest that you could recognize illegal immigrants to the UK by their appearance: "Last time I was in London it seemed like there were just as many Arabs as when I was in Dubai."
Considering Labour got around a third of the total vote, the term 'Big Win' is really just a 'Big Wind'. In other news, the EU elections dumped a load of Greens. https://www.theguardian.com/world/a...n-eu-elections-raise-concerns-over-green-deal "Green parties have shed seats in the European elections, provisional results suggest, raising fears that the continent may be on the verge of weakening its climate ambitions. Projections for the new European parliament showed the Green faction pushed from fourth into sixth place, with 53 seats, amid a broader shift to the right."
Cheer up, Old C*ck! The old geezers who thought they could stop diversity by voting for Brexit buggered the UK economy, but created opportunity, Britain after Brexit: The surprising surge in skilled migrants
....ignore it....it's employed to create division and disseminate banal soundbites which it will not discuss or elaborate upon....
Well, the left wing certainly has a surreal view of reality. But it's all reflected back and forth in an echo chamber, so if you've heard it enough times, it sounds like the truth.
'.....and you are too'. Devastating debating point coming from someone who thinks that all Britain's problems are due to immigrants & the Tories, who have been in power for 14 years, aren't really responsible for the failure of their own government. You have to work pretty hard at ignoring reality to get anywhere near that sort of analysis.
What do you think is responsible for Britain's economic malaise, and unaffordable housing prices around London, then? Please tell me you have something in mind other than Brexit. And I hope you don't think it's the Tories fault for not throwing out enough free money. If you have some other thoughts, I'd be interested in hearing them.
That's easy: the massive, increasing, and unsustainable subsidization of the privileged, especially landowners, at the expense of the productive.
And you're not able to see how increasing population plays into that? Plus most of those good job opportunities seem to be concentrated right around London, for some reason.
Not to mention many of the problems people are experiencing in the UK are do to stupid net zero policies which just make total emissions go higher instead of lowering them. Yet massively increase the cost of living for regular people. The UK could be a huge exporter of natural gas, coal, and oil instead of a net importer plus develop a whole industry around petro-chemicals, plastics, fertilizers, etc .. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of base products there which could be creating huge numbers of well paying jobs as well as tax revenues and lower energy costs for everyone. Tories crapped the bed when they endorsed that stupid nonsense.
