The broad brush of US of AIPAC generalisations splashes out again. Some Tuareg musicians, from Mali; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOV5jEa-vwc They must be cementing their ' ill-conceived alliances ' between sets. Careful with that drone, Eugene.
Don't worry, I know that things are bad. I had to avoid a festival. My point was simply to dispel the false claim that the Tuareg were somehow responsible.
Ironically, in 1986, when I was in Beijing...I was at "The Summer Palace", and the King of Mali was there that same day. His goons were real jerks, because we were walking in to the place through these gates/stairs, and instead of just asking us to make way, they shoved all 3 of us American college students up against the walls. Ever since then I've hated Mali. Bomb the place into the stone age.
Yes, that seems like a fitting response to rudeness. Republican ? What would be your response to seeing your children brutalised by grinning neoZionist stormtroopers ?
to moon ::::::::: good point; none of the local peoples are responsible in any way. it is alqueda, the big international terrorist group which was started by the CIA. and it is still being financed by the CIA; either directly, or as front groups. YES, alqueda was hired by the CIA to throw out ghaddafi from lybia, YES, even after SEP11, even after 9-11, the CIA still uses the mercenary services of alqueda. while the tuareg and other local tribes suffer. ??? do you understand what this is all about ??? vlad
to goldwater ::::::::::::: i am very surprised about all this. ?? how does the "king of mali" fit into this anti-music movement with alqueda and all that ?? vlad
Yes, ' al Qaeda ' is anybody that the CIA wants it to be. It's the same with ' Taliban ' and it's been the norm for decades with ' terrorist '. Anybody that doesn't know that the US of AIPAC is responsible for most of the world's violence has a shock coming if they open their eyes.
to moon ::::::::::: i find it all to be very similar to the fascists and the nazis. first moussolini was given financial assistence (?was this during the old fiscal cliff, the old financial chasm?) and then hitler wes given an envelope with $5,000,000.00. mousolini was helped by the bank of italy from venice, which became the bank of america. and hitler was helped by the kelloge financial services, in the person of presscoat bush; the father of president george bush. then ???? who first helped osama binladin and alqueda, it was president george bush when he was chief of the CIA. now hillary clinton is being blamed for the lack of defense at the lybian embassy. defense from whom ??? from alqueda old friend of president george bush. vlad
In other words, Moon, US is responsible for this, yes? I say, it is Qu'ran's fault. Islamists Harsh Justice Is on the Rise in North Mali BAMAKO, Mali Moctar Touré was strapped to a chair, blindfolded, his right hand bound tight to the armrest with a rubber tube. A doctor came and administered a shot. Then Mr. Tourés own brother wielded a knife, the kind used to slaughter sheep, and methodically carried out the sentence. I myself cut off my brothers hand, said Aliou Touré, a police chief in the Islamist-held north of this divided nation. We had no choice but to practice the justice of God. Such amputations are designed to shock residents are often summoned to watch and even as the world makes plans to recapture northern Mali by force, the Islamists who control it show no qualms about carrying them out. After the United Nations Security Council authorized a military campaign to retake the region last week, Islamists in Gao, Mr. Tourés town, cut the hands off two more people accused of being thieves the very next day, a leading local official said, describing it as a brazen response to the United Nations resolution. Then the Islamists, undeterred by the international threats against them, warned reporters that eight others will soon share the same fate. This harsh application of Shariah law, with people accused of being thieves sometimes having their feet amputated as well, has occurred at least 14 times since the Islamist takeover last spring, not including the recent vow of more to come, according to Human Rights Watch and independent observers. But those are just the known cases, and dozens of other residents have been publicly flogged with camel-hair whips or tree branches for offenses like smoking, or even for playing music on the radio. Several were whipped in Gao on Monday for smoking in public, an official said, while others said that anything other than Koranic verses were proscribed as cellphone ringtones. A jaunty tune is punishable by flogging. At least one case of the most severe punishment stoning to death was carried out in the town of Aguelhok in July against a couple accused of having children out of wedlock. Trials are often rudimentary. A dozen or so jihadi judges sitting in a circle on floor mats pronounce judgment, according to former Malian officials in the north. Hearings, judgment and sentence are usually carried out rapidly, on the same day. They do it among themselves, in closed session, said Abdou Sidibé, a parliamentary deputy from Gao, now in exile here in the capital, Bamako. These people who have come among us have imposed their justice, he said. It comes from nowhere. The jihadists are even attempting to sell the former criminal courts building in Gao, Mr. Sidibé said, because they no longer have any use for it. In Timbuktu, justice is dispensed from a room in a former hotel. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/28/w...sh-justice-on-rise-in-northern-mali.html?_r=0 BACKWARD BARBARIANS.
Moon, the main group in question calls itself Al-Qaeda in the Maghrib". Unless you can explain how AIPAC-controlled CIA agents put words in their mouth, you can't argue that the group in question considers itself part of Al-Qaeda and is pursuing a program of trying to achieve what it thinks the original Al-Qaeda wants to achieve. Your attempted deflection of the topic not only didn't make sense, but it was logically weak and not supported by the facts on the ground. Why on earth would the CIA care about throwing the government out of Northern Mali? At best you could argue that it was an unexpected consequence of the ouster of Qadaffi in Libya and that somehow the CIA was involved in that. Anyone who gives the CIA that much credit for forward planning hasn't looked at their history that carefully.
I said that " ' al Qaeda ' is anybody that the CIA wants it to be. " and nothing you've posted here is evidence to the contrary. Understand that the terms ' al-Qaeda/Taliban/terrorist/insurgent etc. are sometimes used simply as convenient CIA labels. An example might be when one their drones murders eight or nine kids and their mum.
to dutch :::::::: yes; we may say that quaran is more responsible for the actions of alqueda than the CIA. but the point is that the CIA was responsible for helping alqueda to become the big internationa (global) organization which supports terrorism both for and against the foreign policy of the USA. vlad

to all :::::::::: is it really necessary to point out that alqueda came into mali through lybia by the over throw of ghaddafi. when ghaddafi and his hamajaria was in power in north africa, mali had peace. after the CIA paid alqueda to go into lybia, the north african peace was destroyed. then the americam ambassador was killed by alqueda. then mali was invaded by alqueda. now france is starting a military action against alqueda. all this is at the cost of the US budget; all this is a part of the financial chasm. all this is part of the economic gorge. yet all this is some part of the US foreign policy. vlad
to tyrerik and moon and trout :::::::::: somehow i can't understand exactly what it is that you guys are talking about. vlad
A couple of things here to comment on I feel: 1.) Al Qaeda didn't come into Mali through Libya. Al Qaeda has been in Mali for quite some time. Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb came into formation when the GSPC declared for Al Qaeda after they were pushed out of Algeria during their civil war in the 90's. 2.) Mali didn't always have peace, particularly in its north. Mali was the home of several Tuareg rebellions that have cropped up over the past several decades. The rebellions in the north aren't really anything new, what was new this time was funding from AQIM for Islamists, and a heavy influx of weaponry from Libya. 3.) The Tuareg militias that came back into Mali weren't under the employ of the US or western governments, they were being used as mercenaries by Gaddafi to fight the rebels. When he fell, they simply kept their weapons and took them home with them to Mali. Why would the CIA have any interest in giving Al Qaeda, an entity sworn to attack and destroy the US, money to engage in fighting? Are you going to suggest next that the CIA attacked itself in Benghazi as some sort of continued conspiracy?
