If he tries to return then two things could happen, the report gets reactivated and he could be kicked out for being himself and he gets called a liar, again.

This was all a mirage and facade to get him out of Congress before he we was kicked out. I said when he was first nominated that the whole plan was to detour the report on his malfeasances. The fact that a new person was nominated for the post within minutes tells us how serious his choice was.

    His resignation notice:
" "I hereby resign as a United States representative for Florida's first congressional district, effective immediately. And I do not intend to take the oath of office for the same office in the 119th Congress to pursue the position of Attorney General in the Trump administration."

Politics are planned behind closed doors. So, how about this -- Trump nominates Gaetz as AG knowing he will not make it, Gaetz withdraws his name, then Trump nominates Bondi, she sails through. Trump wanted Bondi all along. Gaetz went along with the plan, resigned from Congress, later withdrew, and now DeSantis will appoint Gaetz to fill Rubio's senate seat. A win-win for Trump, a win-win for Bondi, a win-win for DeSantis and a win-win for Gaetz. I think Trump calls it "The Art of the Deal". They all agreed to the "deal" ahead of time. Trump is laughing his arse off.

Or AG Bondi appoints Matt Gaetz as special counsel to investigate the WH and state prosecutors and judges to attack their political opponents. He would have unfettered ability far more than the AG has…
