I notice you are citing an opinion piece. That would make it someone's opinion, not a fact. In fact there are not any facts in the article you cite. Your source is also very conservative so there may be some bias there.

 

Biden didn't wake up and magically have dementia the morning of the debate. That level or decline takes years. The media has literally been following him around the world. There's an entire team of reporters from the largest media companies in the world dedicated to reporting what they see and learn about Biden first hand. They didn't start sounding the alarms until after the debate, when Democrats literally called them and told them to talk about it. Until that time, they all shamelessly covered it up. And leftists, for whatever reason, ate it up and called it a conspiracy theory despite it being patently obvious to any objective person. It created a pattern of collective denial. It was crazy to watch. History will teach children about the successful disinformation campaign to cover up a president with dementia for political gain.

 

Yes it may have been reported as opinion/fact, but we do not know if they knew the truth from insiders and chose to ignoring their obligation to be curious and demand proof.
The whole point here is:
Were voters led to believe that Biden was just fine? Yes.
And do think they are okay with being intentionally misled?
Do you feel it is just an early "October Surprise"? And it is all bunk?

 

Reporters constantly made excuses for Biden, excuses like he stutters and such. They took KJP at her word when she said behind closed doors Biden is as sharp as a tack and the staff can't keep up with him. Conservative media has been questioning Biden's mental fitness for a long time, the liberal media can no longer hide what they've been denying for years.

 

It's kind of pathetic that all the big decision-makers in the Democratic Party seem to be making decisions based on what they are hearing in the media.

It becomes like a giant bubble, insulated from reality. Basically a circular feedback effect, where people perceive to be true what their side wants everyone else to believe to be true.

We could put it this way: They drank too much of their own Kool-Aid.

Now they seem to be waking up at the last moment and becoming alarmed.

Something smells -- why did the people who spent 5 days at Camp David want to put Biden on the international stage in a debate for all to see? They had to know his condition because half the voters knew Biden's condition. There was a reason they did this. I have to believe they wanted us to see his sad mental condition. There was no way they thought Biden would perform well. Will we ever know why they did this. Weird stuff.

 

That is my point exactly, I am not disputing the point that he has had cognitive problems. We have seen that. Where have we seen that? In the press and on the news. I am saying that there was no defined conspiracy to cover it up by lying to the American people. I will go a step farther than that. I think that the article you cited can be considered lying to the American people. What we have to do is look for the facts and check varied sources. In looking at the facts and considering the varied sources I have read I think claims that there was a concerted coverup by the press in order to keep Trump from getting elected is not true.

As I said, I don't particularly care to debate cognitive declines in politicians with people who spent the past several years adamantly denying there was something wrong with Biden while claiming there were serious issues with Trump. I'm not going to vote for either Biden or Trump, but it's clear that Biden has been having major problems, and those who denied that don't have much of a leg to stand on when it comes to talking about Trump's cognition. They either don't know what they're talking about, or their extreme partisanship makes their opinions on this subject irrelevant. Years of spreading disinformation have consequences.

 

It was a kill shot because Trump is leading, the economy is in the toilet, and all our enemies are saber rattling and Joe is walking with his pet unicorn!

 

Where have I “denied there was something wrong with Biden” but Biden up until the debate was only showing normal signs of an aging brain plus lifelong stutter. The real question is was the debate an episode or an indication of disease. There are explanations that would point to an episode so we have to await further actual signs.
