Mediaite Obtains Full Police Report on Pete Hegseth Sexual Assault Allegation

Mediaite obtained a detailed police report regarding a sexual assault allegation against Pete Hegseth, a Fox News personality and former Trump administration nominee for secretary of defense. The incident reportedly occurred in October 2017 during a Republican women's conference in Monterey, California. The report outlines claims made by a woman identified as Jane Doe, who alleged that Hegseth sexually assaulted her after a night of drinking.

Doe claimed that after an argument with Hegseth, her memories became fuzzy and she found herself in a hotel room where Hegseth allegedly forced himself on her. Hegseth, however, maintained that the encounter was consensual. He stated that he was "buzzed" but not drunk and that they had consensual sex, with Doe expressing some regret afterward.

The police investigated the claims, interviewed several witnesses, and reviewed surveillance footage. Ultimately, no charges were filed against Hegseth. His attorney insisted that the police report supports their position that the allegations were false. The report was made public days after the allegations were first reported.

Of course he denied it. Let's see if the girl is credible, okay, I'll wait until we hear her testimony, learn more about her. If she's a wacko like Tara Reade, I'll believe Hegseth, but if she is credible like Anita Hill, I'll believe her.

Whether she is seen as credible or not is almost certainly a function of your political views as it is whether or not you find her take on the events to be credible. Let's just say for now that she wouldn't be the first woman who got drunk climbed into bed with a guy and then cried rape the next morning. One suspects that she would just as soon not be discovered at this point unless she thinks there is money to be made.

Even if he does get confirmed his testimony will definitely do damage to the Trump administration.

 

Where's the charging document? Without it, this is just an allegation.

I would consider either one of them to be credible witnesses after a night of drinking. It happened seven years ago and the police did not pursue it for good reason.

I kinda feel sorry for RFK. ...as I really think he is delusional. (BELIEVING what he BELIVES.......without scientific substantiation ) Coming from a very large family and having his dad assassinated ( as well as his uncle).......(isn't America GREAT..........at disposing of those they don't like) His formative years would have been challenging and filled with extreme trauma.

However.......he is responsible for what he does and says............ and should be held to that standard. ( as most folks would be) If his ideas are compatible with Trumps.......then we have some very CRAZY times ahead.(one cannot sugar coat it with "need for change". What makes the dynamic even crazier.......is that folks willingly voted for this .

So.... no indictment, charges, or conviction.... we just went through this one in another "allegation".... I guess the other was dropped so now we have to start chasing this one...

I just listened to Lawrence O'Donnell speak about this. I skimmed this source document today. Lawrence asserted that there was nothing in this report that contradicts DOE. That is not what I observed in the report. There are several assertions by interviewed staff that DOE did not appear to be wasted. Including that she did not appear to be hungover the next day. I'd have to re-read the damn thing to get further into defending my take on it. And I'm not real interested in doing that. If you disagree with me and you've read the report, I'll be pleased to look into what you've found.

Seemingly this woman, DOE, was apparently in a leadership position at this conference. And her husband was babysitting, while she was having sex with Pete, whom she described as being the center of attention of all the ladies at this R conference. Seems at least equally like to me that Pete got screwed twice by this woman's attempt to reconcile what she did by creating a façade that would be acceptable for her husband to save face. I noticed several mentions that Monterey concluded that the complainant was basically lying. Yet, Pete paid her an undisclosed sum to keep it away from #metoo. His clear inability to control his sex drive is a problem though and should certainly disqualify him from the office on its own account.

However, all of this is unnecessary, imo. He has published books that advocate civil war between the Ds and Rs. Wholly unacceptable, full stop.

This is another one of MAGA's "Christian family values" guys. Twice divorced, child from an affair while still married... He fits in perfectly with Trump's serial adultery. What happened to the GOP's moral "principles"? In the old days, this guy wouldn't have come close to even be nominated for a cabinet position. But, he has a Christian tatoo on his chest and goes to church. I guess repenting makes it all go away...
