Check out RealClearPolitics. Even the loyal Democrat mouthpieces have stopped defending it. Gibbs essentially called it an unmitigated disaster and called for people getting fired. I like the guy a lot more now that he isn't entirely a sycophant for the WH even if I disagree with his views.

I don't trust anything to Obama... I trust the NHS to my health care and it has never let me down.. The UK got that right even if China didn't, at least until their government just gutted its funding causing nurses to get laid off and patients died from neglect. But there's no need to blow a gasket, because you put that in the current events section, not the humor section.. So it makes you look like one of the many trolls who comments on things they know nothing about with nothing decent to say... After reading your post I can clearly see that you do know this topic well, and you even taught me some stuff, like the federal raids thing, which is pretty ridiculous and yet routine for a power-grab guy like Obama.

Here we have claims Obamacare regulates:
    Ownership of gold..
Gives permission for federal raids on your home.

Even with these tin hate paranoid propaganda imaginings, I will say it again:

This thread is no more irrational than the rest of the Obama-hating propaganda we see a dozen times per day here.

It's all they have when reason no longer works.

I couldn't be happier that millions of Americans are going to get essential healthcare access.

old Coin Sellers Angered by New Tax Law
    July 21, 2010
    By RICH BLAKE
Those already outraged by the president's health care legislation now have a new bone of contention -- a scarcely noticed tack-on provision to the law that puts gold coin buyers and sellers under closer government scrutiny.

The issue is rising to the fore just as gold coin dealers are attracting attention over sales tactics.

Section 9006 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will amend the Internal Revenue Code to expand the scope of Form 1099. Currently, 1099 forms are used to track and report the miscellaneous income associated with services rendered by independent contractors or self-employed individuals.

In all fairness.... in many cases... it is.....

(From a previous thread of mine, which someone didn't like... and closed).

Meet Brendan Mahoney, the young man who is saving ObamaCare. He's 30 years old, a third-year law student at the University of Connecticut. He's actually been insured for the past three years--in 2011 and 2012 through a $2,400-a-year school-sponsored health plan, and this year through "a high-deductible, low-premium plan that cost about $39 a month through a UnitedHealthcare subsidiary." But he wanted to see what ObamaCare had to offer.

He tried logging in to the exchange's website at 8:45 a.m. yesterday, which is impressive in itself. Most young people don't get up that early. "He said the system could not verify his identity." So he called the toll-free help line, whose operator also encountered computer trouble. "But then he logged on a second time, he said, and the system worked."

"Once it got running, it was fast," Mahoney tells the Courant. "It really made my day. It's a lot like TurboTax." He obtained insurance through ObamaCare. Now, he says, "if I get sick, I'll definitely go to the doctor." Even better, if he stays healthy, he won't need to go to a doctor, and his premiums will support chronically ill policyholders on the wrong side of 40.

So, how much of a premium is strapping young Brendan Mahoney paying to help make ObamaCare work? Oops. The Courant reports that Mahoney "said that by filling out the application online, he discovered he was eligible for Medicaid. So, beginning next year, he won't pay any premium at all."

So the great success story of ObamaCare's first day is the transformation of a future lawyer who was already paying for insurance into a welfare case.

You do realize your story is a NOW a LIE???????

You do realize your story is three years old and was removed from the bill? That even before removal had NOTHING to do with gold and silver itself, but was an issue to capture tax evaders from unreported income?

Yes, you do realize this, Mr. propaganda man! Yes you do!

This is true.. They do that on purpose.. Kinda like when they snuck an ex post defacto law change to the War Crimes Act of '97 to provide retroactive immunity for what was illegal torture, into the Military Commissions Act of 2006.

In this case, this is part of the war on gold, possibly for another confiscation program. They know that the USD collapse is mathematically inevitable, and that gold will be the asset after that, so they will want that as well.

Here's an interesting sound bite from Pelosi about the ACA: “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it – away from the fog of the controversy.”

Most people realize the controversy is important, it's the debate you're SUPPOSED to have BEFORE you pass the bill.

We should have a Constitutional amendment to prohibit this congressional trickery.

    Very interesting... http://abcnews.go.com/Business/gold-coin-dealers-decry-tax-law/story?id=11211611

Section 9006 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will amend the Internal Revenue Code to expand the scope of Form 1099. Currently, 1099 forms are used to track and report the miscellaneous income associated with services rendered by independent contractors or self-employed individuals.

Starting Jan. 1, 2012, Form 1099s will become a means of reporting to the Internal Revenue Service the purchases of all goods and services by small businesses and self-employed people that exceed $600 during a calendar year. Precious metals such as coins and bullion fall into this category and coin dealers have been among those most rankled by the change.

This provision, intended to mine what the IRS deems a vast reservoir of uncollected income tax, was included in the health care legislation ostensibly as a way to pay for it. The tax code tweak is expected to raise $17 billion over the next 10 years, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation.

    ...

So every time a member of the public sells more than $600 worth of gold to a dealer, Piret said, the transaction will have to be reported to the government by the buyer.

And I will say it again: I do not hate President Obama.

That said, I don't know about gold ownership, but what I posted was VERBATIM. The Department of Health and Human Services may enter your home without a warrant if you are deemed "high risk" as per the qualifications above.

I was trying to have a little fun with this topic. But if you don't like to have fun: http://www.politicalforum.com/showthread.php?t=327552&page=2&p=1063198469#post1063198469

Millions of Americans already had access to essential health care. Nobody was turned away. Nobody can be turned away. This whole legislation was nothing but a power grab, and the federal government beating its chest and saying "see how big it is?"

    This is utter BS.

I saw PLENTY of people "turned away".

    I was turned away MYSELF.

"Access to essential health care" is far more than a triage turn in an ER, and a prescription.

If you are an illegal alien and you show up bleeding at ANY EMERGENCY ROOM IN THE UNITED STATES, you will be treated until stable. If you have insurance, then we will bill your insurer after we make sure you are stable. If you don't have insurance, we will send you a rather large bill in the mail. If you can't pay the bill, we will send you an application for a significant discount and you will get it. If you have no money at all, we will declare you medically indigent and make that bill simply vanish into thin air. You don't even have to be in this country legally to take advantage of that system. We treat everyone.

If you want a diamond in your tooth... pay for it yourself.

What's funny is that the income from selling the gold was already taxed (and how many times over??) as some form of income when it was received by the seller. Like in my case, if I buy gold and later resell it, I'm being taxed twice now for that money, since I spent my taxed income on that gold when I bought originally, and now it's being taxed a second time when I sell the gold.

That's how they operate, though. Just keep sneaking in new taxes, bleeding us dry every way they can.
