    Not at all.

You don't say which GDP figures you're considering but I don't see how your assessment could be valid by any reasonable measure.

Regardless, the G7 isn't (and never was) simply about GDP. It was formed between countries who were indeed economic leaders at the time (and generally remain so) but also on the basis of shared socio-political ideas and attitudes. Over time, the G7 has recognised changes and developments in the economic and political world, expanding and evolving early on and currently having various national and organisational representatives invented to their summits, both routinely (like the EU and the "+5" developing economies) or in the context of immediate issues or topics of discussion (such as Ukraine in the context of the fallout from the Russian invasion). I expect it can be useful for the leaders to have this more open and flexible forum alongside more formal international structures like the UN.

I do not believe that is true. I think you made a mistake there.

Russia has a total GDP higher than twice that of Poland, and even though average standards of living in Russia are lower, Russia still contains several provinces that generate more wealth per person than Poland.

Where did you get your GDP figures from?

    https://globalpeoservices.com/top-15-countries-by-gdp-in-2022/

    2. China: $14.72 trillion
    3. Japan: $5.06 trillion
    4. Germany: $3.85 trillion
    5. United Kingdom: $2.67 trillion
    6. India: $2.66 trillion
    7. France: $2.63 trillion
    8. Italy: $1.89 trillion
    9. Canada: $1.64 trillion
    10. South Korea: $1.63 trillion
    11. Russia: $1.48 trillion
    12. Brazil: $1.44 trillion
    13. Australia: $1.32 trillion
    14. Spain: $1.28 trillion
    15. Indonesia: $1.05 trillion
Are you using per capita? What would be the rationale for using per capita when we are talking about the most powerful economies in the world? Do you really believe the Czech Republic is a bigger player on the world stage than Japan?

The G-7 are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States; + the European Union as a "non-enumerated member".
    No it isn't.
Wrong. Japan has the 3rd largest economy in the world, The Czech Republic is number 47.
No. Russia is #9 and Poland is ranked #23
Wrong. India is #5 and Ukraine is number #56 and that was before the invasion.
    No.
