Look up herd immunity in Norway during the Swine Flu. It happened, and coupled with a vaccine was effective.

The odds of a vaccine are very long, and that’s exactly why to return to normal, we won’t be able to rely on masks and distancing to save us and will need a method that is more aggressive without being oppressive o the people. Surely you get this, especially as we head into flu season.

Oh, I get it and I’m telling you why I suspect I was never asymptomatic in the first place without having to have a $5,000 test to tell me what I already know.

Because the symptoms never showed up.

Maybe that’s because people have been forced to do it. So you put your hands out and had them sanitized like a little kid, cool. Where’s the participation trophy?

Look, we get it. You’re cool with having the government be your nanny and do all the thinking for you. This is a textbook example of what happens when you allow the government to think for you. Masks and social distancing isn’t going to be the magic formula that returns us to normal. Easy to think that way when these governors are dangling your god given freedoms in front of you like a carrot.

But it’s obvious you’re okay with such mind control, and that is scarier than getting infected with something over 800,000 people have recovered from.

You have ZERO effective alternatives and furthermore NOTHING that was proposed is even vaguely 'oppressive" so try and come with actual SOLUTIONS instead of just naysaying and denigrating what ACTUALLY WORKS!

In which case if you were infected then you WERE infecting others by FAILING to WEAR a MASK!

The puerile drivel above says VOLUMES about the ABSENCE of Subject Matter Knowledge as to HOW the virus SPREADS!

EVERYONE wearing MASKS reduces the RISKS of infection.

Sanitizing hands BEFORE entering the store ensures that whatever is being touched is NOT going to be INFECTED by the VIRUS!

Why is it so DIFFICULT to GRASP these OBVIOUS CONCEPTS?

Right, this lockdown was never "oppressive." Spare me the disastrous Supreme Court ruling that has been used to justify stomping on every Americans right to assembly, up there with free speech. If you're telling me you think that right to assembly should be tossed out the window because a few may get sick, your ideas are scarier than I gave credit for. There's a reason the riots aren't being shut down by the social distancing police, because we are given the right to protest, and police know that would be infringement on the 1A.

Furthermore, notice how the idea of herd immunity, despite again working just fine for Norway, hasn't been implemented. So we don't know if it would work, you don't know if a solution could be gold until you try it. But if Americans are being forced into mask wearing and forced to give up rights enshrined in our countries fabric for the idea of "safety," having that 60% we would need for herd immunity doesn't sound any less insane of an idea, even if that immunity is passive.

    More UNSUBSTANTIATED babble! /sigh

It is SWEDEN, not Norway and they have a HORRENDOUS per capita death toll. If we were using their moronic approach here in America the CURRENT death toll would be 160,000+ and climbing.

So NO, it is NOT "working fine" and only those who don't give a crap about human life would embrace that idiocy. How many MORE Americans MUST DIE before the Covidiot-in-Chief can claim to have "saved the economy"? One MILLION or will it be TEN million lives SACRIFICED for the Almighty Dollar and the Greed Obsessed Wall Street Banksters?

But thanks for establishing that your only alternative "solution" is MASS GRAVES all across America.

    Sad!

You're right, its not a hard concept to grasp just like the idea Americans should have a choice whether or not to wear masks isn't a hard choice to grasp either.

If Sweden could get its head around that basic concept, why the hell can't America get its head around the basic concept of choice?

The VIRUS is going to KILL PEOPLE if you do NOT wear a mask!

    That is HOW it WORKS!

Obviously you still haven't grasped the CONCEPT of HOW the virus KILLS people!

    Sad!

Now you are in projection mode - x 2

You appealed to authority . deal with it. Further - it was a side comment in that I agreed with the courts you were appealing to.
The difference being that my agreement had rational attached to it. Your agreement is based on a fallacious appeal to authority.

None of this changes the fact that your claim that public safety necessarily over-rides the constitution is false - but nice try at deflection.

That you think being able to shop for groceries - sums up the effect of the lockdown - is about as thoughtless of an argument as it gets.

That you can not fathom examples - outside of grocery shopping - where current lockdown measures are affecting business - is hard to fathom.

Is this the stump you wish to stand on ? Do tell us how the current lockdown measures - which masks are a part - do not effect the economy.

We all know that shopping at grocery stores has not been restricted .. people still have to eat. So you are correct that this has not been effected.

Your claim that other areas have not been affected .. stating Complete and utter NONSENSICAL drivel disproven by REALITY.

    - is complete utter nonsensical drivel disproven by reality - and you have projection issues.

Once again you make BASELESS ASSUMPTIONS that you cannot substantiate!

Never went anywhere near a grocery store.

I was shopping for HARDWARE and TIRES!

But once again you prove that all you have are KNEEJERK responses that have ZERO CONNECTION with actual REALITY!

    Sad!

Remember how isolation and social distancing was more important than masks before the leftist riot mobs started up?

    Remember?

I guess it's all about masks now for some strange reason.

CDC chronology: masks not needed, then must use masks, now N-95 mask bad, very bad. Lunatics.

It is you that who is in denial of the constitution.

Your claim that "public safety" necessarily over-rides the constitution - is patently false.

The whole point of the constitution is to limit Gov't power to mess with essential liberty - especially on the basis of some frivolous public safety concern.

Your utilitarian justification for law is an anathema to the founding principles and the constitution.

What is sad is your claim that there is a difference between shopping in a hardware store or a grocery store - with respect to the economic impact of covid.

Both are irrelevant - What is laughable is that you can not figure out that there are other areas of the economy that have been impacted.

Let's be accurate. We have 115,000 people who have died while positive for covid 19, not necessarily killed by covid 19. They don't do autopsies on covid positives. We have no idea what killed them. Some were killed in auto accidents. Some died from other medical conditions. Some, certainly died from the virus. We just don't know how many.

I know for a fact that drug users dying of ODs in the ghetto hospital where I work are being listed as COVID deaths, even though the coronavirus was only detected post mortem, and clearly played no role in a death by drug overdose.

The simple reason why is because the hospital will get federal reimbursement for treating a COVID case that they'd otherwise get nothing for if it was just an ODed indigent person.

Okay, its time to end this. Its obvious some here is too far gone to be woken up to the reality we will face going into the third and fourth quarters of this year. The governors aren't getting it right, the CDC isn't getting it right, thus why the entire matter is so frustrating because no one is coming up with actual solutions. I woke up in April, so I have a fresh perspective of what's really going on. But its obvious certain users here haven't woken up, which is truly "Sad!" From your first post, I could tell you were still far gone.. I sincerely hope you wake up to the reality you accuse me of not living in. You can continue spreading your propaganda about masks and distancing, because I would be a hypocrite to try to silence you from doing so. Learn to chill.

    I'm out.

They really ought to make it a law that people have to wear mask and do social distancing because decent, responsible people have to be victimized by the behavior of bimbos who think it's all about themselves and not about anyone else. You risk infecting others if you don't wear a mask and do social distancing. That is a fact. That is the bottom line. People have got a ffing nerve thinking they can decide on life or death issues for other people. Why not just get totally bombed on Vodka and take your car out for a spin on the freeway? It's the same ffing thing.
