That is only true in the narrowest sense. It isn't explicitly stated the way it is for our American freinds, but it has been deemed to exist under the Constitution:

I'm not sure 'freedom of speech' is strictly relevant to this arrest, though it may be to attempts to take down soe frendlyjordies videos. This case seems a pretty blatant abuse of power by a corrupt politician trying to shut down some trenchant critics. The idea that Langker was 'stalking' Barilaro is just bizarre and reeks of Barilaro trying to distract from his own issues.

Non-local readers here should be aware that the Premier of NSW has just resigned ahead of an inquiry from the state anti-corruption watchdog. Barilaro, the deputy Premier and person who initiated these charges resigned not long afterward. Thus far there is no investigation into him, but no one will be surprised if one is announced.

In a sane world these charges would be dropped & a fulsome apology issued.

    https://humanrights.gov.au/our-work/rights-and-freedoms/freedom-information-opinion-and-expression

It certainly isn't as comprehensive as the US version, but it does exist.

Ssssshhhhhh! I LIKE giving our American cousins conniptions:p I have always considered free speech really to be a component of “natural justice” or by the other term “procedural fairness”. Thus free speech comes as a process of being able to articulate a counter argument to a proposal as well as formulation of a proposal itself rather than as an absolute

No need to worry. Those of our American cousins who tend to talk about this stuff think that they are the only people in the world who have or understand 'freedom'. Its fundamental to their indoctrination that they believe no other nation is worth understanding or engaging with.

But have you noticed that, particularly in the last five or so years, “freedom” has come to mean “I can do whatever I want with no social responsibility” and it is not Gen X or Gen Y saying this it is the Baby Boomers.

increasingly it appears one of the appeals of Donald Trump to his base is that he appears to have been Teflon coated when it comes to the law. It is also that exact same thing that has a lot of Anti- Trump Americans watching and waiting for Donnie’s legal comeuppance. The ones that believe no-one should be above the law. I do believe that is a majority of America s

Googling around it would appear as if they didn't follow the correct process regarding Langker so much as deemed him guilty by association with the host. The normal process would have had the mental health people take a look at Langker's conduct to see if they deemed him fixated as well (the step that was skipped before the arrest). It is a little weird to me that they lump terrorism and stalking together in the same unit, but other than that, I cannot say for certain I really see any big implications here.

For starters, you can read what I stated correctly. Did I state that we are a fascist state? No, a nanny state. Comprendaè.

    Lockout laws
    Buying grog after 10 pm
    Cycling laws
    Plain packaging laws
    Advertising bans
    Picnic permits
    Website age gates
    Footpath dining restrictions
    BBQ permits

Sydney slammed as a city with ‘shopping list of outrageous little rules’
No shots, no smoking, no rock music, no fun. Welcome to our nanny state, where locals are fed up and visitors are being driven away.

It doesn't bother me anymore, Sydney is long gone for me and all its bullshit.

I'm not sure why I thought this but I thought he was talking about Scotland.

If I'm not mistaken I thought you were from Australia.

    It's my mistake.

Further I was the one that eluded to fascism but then again I'm from the land of the free.

It may have been the association of Australia being once a penal colony. Many convicts from the UK got relocated here.

Judge lambasts Google for failing to take down Friendlyjordies videos that former MP John Barilaro complained were 'offensive'
"A judge has said he is "dumbfounded" by the behaviour of Google in John Barilaro's defamation case and is considering referring the technology giant for contempt of court charges."

"The videos were published by popular YouTube commentator and comedian, Jordan Shanks, known online as FriendlyJordies."

Is "pretty much" the same as 'yes' or 'exactly/precisely'? Or what about the line, "but just under that level of fascism"? Yeah, that sums it up as reading it correctly, not.

isn't Youtube powered by Google? Google is very liberal, and corrupt. They hinder freedom of speech.
