We heard years ago, that Silverstein blew up the WTC so as to make lots of insurance money.

well, let's look at just how much money he got from insurers, and the total cost today of the new WTC construction.

Silverstein was awarded $4.4 billion due to the destruction of the two towers.

total cost of new WTC construction to date? $14.8 billion.

let me repeat that number: $14.8 BILLION!!!!

and guess what? the work and the payments still ain't done.

WTC 2 is barely done yet, expected completion in 2021

WTC 3 aint done yet, expected completion in 2018

WTC 5????? who the hell knows.

Performing Arts Center??? who the hell knows.

so yeah, more than $12 billion spent, and still not finished.

so tell us again, how this was a big ol' payday for "Lucky" Larry.

Incase you wish to know, Silverstein has the leases for WTC 2, 3, 4 and 7. Paid for with insurance money and money borrowed from developers.

and some of his insurance money had to go to WTC 1, which he does NOT lease.
