    "every cent" I tell ya.
    What bullshit.

"Nikki Haley, the Indian-American, who recently launched her 2024 presidential bid, has said that if voted to power she will cut foreign aid for countries that "hate the US". In an op-ed in the New York Post, the Former Governor of South Carolina mentioned, "I will cut every cent in foreign aid for countries that hate us. A strong America doesn't pay off the bad guys. A proud America doesn't waste our people's hard-earned money. And the only leaders who deserve our trust are those who stand up to our enemies and stand beside our friends".

Just a point of curiosity here, but why are you so interested in Haley's race? A year from now she'll be off the campaign field and shopping a book or angling for a TV spot. But you have probably been the single largest poster in a thread about someone that will have less influence in the 2024 campaign than Marianne Williamson did in the 2020 race.

I'm with Lil Mike on this. She will not be a favorite in the primary, but I imagine she might shoot for VP. And of course she will emerge wealthier for it, as all politicians and candidates sadly seem to do.

That she isn't and won't ever be a favorite is a given.
She'll take anything she can get with any of the presidential candidates.

    Nikki's concern is Biden. :roflol:
Someone best tell her that her competition lies elsewhere.
She's the gift that keeps giving.

NIKKI HALEY: It's time for a new direction, Maria. I think we need to leave the status quo of the past. I mean, you look at how America is falling into socialism. You look at how… this national self-loathing has taken over our country, and we've got real issues, whether it's $31 trillion in debt, whether it's that our children have fallen so far behind, we don't know how to catch them up, whether it's security and crime on our streets or open borders or the fact that our minds are being closed by woke ideology. The idea that we'd look up at the sky and see a Chinese five alone looking back at us, there's no shortage of issues. But what I will tell you is Americans want more. They want something different, and they want it now, and we can't do enough to make sure that Joe Biden's last days are ahead of him.

Ahh, Nikki took the lead from the other bimbo,Lauren Boebert and ran with it right into the swamp.
Her "we can't do enough" sure looks like a call for action.
She's not even original to boot.
    Pathetic and desperate.

Boebert's Psalm 109 prayer for Biden.

7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

8 "Let his days be few; and let another take his office."

9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.

That's part of the problem that the right wing has now, though. You can't win the primaries without being a Trump-style psychopath, and you can't win the general without appealing to moderates.

    The irony is hilarious.

Jindal forgot to tell this to Conservative Haley because everytime she opens her mouth we hear from her that she's a female, she kicks sideways with her heels, she's the daughter of immigrants from India and she's not not white or black.

'Bobby Jindal says Nikki Haley's gender and ethnicity not the most important thing about her'

    Feb 27, 2023, 21:37 IST

WASHINGTON: Republican Presidential aspirant Nikki Haley should not be criticized or praised for being an Indian-American woman running for president because her ethnicity and gender is "not the most important thing to know about her," Bobby Jindal, who predates her in a shot at the White House in 2016 has said.

In a commentary he wrote for Newsweek, Jindal accused liberals of reducing Haley's candidacy to her gender and ethnicity, which was "unsurprising given their obsession with identity politics." He called on Conservatives to avoid falling into this same trap.

How long before the birthers chime in? They tried insinuating McCain and Cruz weren't able to run. I'm sure they have some fringe theory for why Haley is disqualified.

Right now the GOP is stuck with the "I'm basically Trump" candidates while they wait to see if he will be indicted. None of them are willing to stand up and actually show how they will be different. The closest we have is Pence, who says he'll carry the same policies but that he'll be more polite. The last thing I want in the next election is another Biden vs Trump, but that seems to be the direction we're headed. Hell, Trump might even be the GOP frontrunner even if he's indicted. The GOP is too terrified to stand up to that pathetic wannabe fascist. I was hoping Haley would be the first to grow some balls in that regard, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. I would have phone banked for her if she had shown some principles in that respect.

Haley will be there, no Mike Pence,DeSantis, Sununu(?) more in link.

'For Republicans’ Rising Stars, CPAC Is Losing Its Pull'

    '
At the annual conference this week, conservative celebrities like Mike Lindell and Kari Lake will attend, as will Donald Trump, but many possible 2024 rivals are skipping it.'

    Snip:

"Instead, attendees will hear from conservative-media stars such as Mike Lindell, the founder of MyPillow and a prominent promoter of election conspiracy theories; Mike Pompeo, ; Lauren Boebert and the former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro,

A recent addition to the schedule is James O’Keefe.

Charlie Gerow, the vice chairman of the American Conservative Union, said the allegations against Mr. Schlapp have not diminished CPAC’s place in the conservative ecosystem.
Schlapp was hit with a sexual assault lawsuit by a male campaign worker of Herschel Walker.

But some former leaders of the American Conservative Union say Mr. Schlapp refocused the event from a broad spectrum of conservative debate to the fringes of Trumpism.
Figures once banned from the event — including Jack Posobiec, a far-right commentator known for promoting the PizzaGate conspiracy theory — landed featured speaking slots.

"Al Cardenas, Mr. Schlapp’s predecessor at the American Conservative Union, said he barely recognizes the organization he once led."

Interesting read on how CPAC is drowning in the swamp.

It's obvious Nikki decided if ya can't beat them join them in the swamp of delusions.
Hopefully now we won't have to hear anymore about her "heels" and kicking "sideways".
If I was a moderate Republican supporter of hers before her entering the 2024 I won't be now.

"CPAC 2023 – live: Nikki Haley says ‘wokeness’ more dangerous than Covid as Trump Jr attacks Fetterman'

'Right-wing conference promises speeches from GOP figures as panelists and speakers return to familiar grievances, attacks and conspiracy theories'

    Alex Woodward,Joe Sommerlad

    snip:

Nikki Haley goes after Biden administration, ‘wokeness’ and ‘socialist’ Democrats
2024 contender Nikki Haley said the thrust of her presidential campaign is her attempt to “stop America’s downward spiral towards socialism” with an agenda to make America “strong and proud not weak and woke.”

“The Democratic party is now a socialist party,” she said, pointing to Bernie Sanders, who is not Democrat, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has overwhelmingly won election to her New York district three times.

She condemned the Biden administration with a false claim that troops are forced to take “gender pronoun classes”; US military policy provides instruction for respecting trans service members.

“That disgusts me,” Ms Haley said."

Yes, one would expect Sununu to be doing much better in his home state. But he’s not an official candidate. Kind of like an afterthought if one doesn’t like or want Trump nor DeSantis. I’d say as of today, all the air is being sucked out of the Republican primaries by Trump and DeSantis. I don’t think DeSantis is doing too bad, as an unofficial candidate. There’s a lot of polling going on with a bunch of names not officially in the race. Even so, Trump is at 45%, DeSantis 29% with the rest divided up among 8 candidates. I think if the field is around 5 official candidates, Trump will be the winner. He has in my opinion an unshakeable support of around 40-45% of Republicans. With the rest of the 55-60% of the vote being divided between 4 or 5 others, Trump will win primary after primary with a plurality. Much like he did in 2016. This is as of today, subject to change as the situation changes.

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/e..._republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html

Then it comes down to who will the Democrats go with. Will they stick with Biden? Go with a retread like Sanders or Warren? Or bring in a fresh, younger face? Stay tuned as they say.

Interestingly, that's normally the lane that Establishment GOP candidate gets, about a 1/3rd or so, and the anti-establishment candidate vote split multiple ways, - Dole, McCain, Romney, so great points.
Clearly Gavin Newsom wants to be that face.

DeSantis is the darling of authoritarians, his intrusive regime dictating his ideological dogma to educators, medical experts, climatologists, private enterprise, journalists, local authorities, folks with wombs, etc., etc., etc. If anyone wants everything controlled by a politician, he's your man.

Since the GOP abandoned its libertarian philosophy, SwampRon is the latest craze.

Can anyone explain the Pence juggernaut?

“He’s only gonna get the vote from his family, and I’m not even sure if they like him.”...

MAGA folk mostly agree with Trump’s assessment that Pence should have stopped Congress from confirming Joe Biden’s election on January 6. And anti-Trump Republicans are looking for a champion who wasn’t one of Trump’s most ridiculously craven toadies prior to January 6...

At this point he seems to be running for president out of lack of anything better to do.

I can't even begin to speculate.

The folks who attack the President for being an octogenarian hope to replace him with another geezer who would also be an octogenarian POTUS - a proven Loser whom the incumbent beat by seven million votes (after relentlessly dismal approval numbers throughout the Loser's term in which he lost the GOP House, Senate, and Executive, then inflicted more losses on his Party in 2022) and who still refuses to accept the will of the People, as he faces multiple prosecutions.

Has he given any indication that he would respect democracy in 2024, as the Loser obsesses over 2020, to the consternation of rational Republicans.

Is Sununu just too sane for all this?

While it is still early to make a prediction (remember how far behind Trump was at this point in his first campaign?), I honestly don't see how anyone can beat Trump for the nomination at this point. Even if he's indicted, the GOP is going to have to unite behind another candidate, otherwise Trump will continue leveraging the victim game for more support in the party. It won't help him in the general, but it will help him get the nomination.

If I had to vote for a Republican Sununu would be my choice.
Having family in NH I follow him some and can deal with his policies on social issues.
I saw a pretty long interview he did in Dec and was impressed for his being a Republican, he also has a good sense of humor.
Also during a roast he said Trump is ****ing crazy..
He's walking a very fine line and I think he's waiting to see how legally bad it gets for Trump before he jumps in,that is if he still is considering to do so.

He recently made this powerful claim about Trump.

    March 5, 2030
"As far as former President Trump, I think he’s going to run – obviously he’s in the race. He’s not going to be the nominee. That’s just not going to happen,” the governor said."
