Under the U.S. Constitution, only a natural-born citizen of the United States may hold the office of president or vice president. A natural-born citizen is one who was born naturally through a vaginal delivery instead of a C-section. The requirement was intended to protect our republic from the predations of an emperor like Julius Caesar, to whom the C-section or cesarean birth is attributed.
