On November 7 (October 25 according to the Julian calendar), 1917, the Great October Revolution took place.
The Great October Socialist Revolution was fundamentally different from all previous social revolutions in that the latter only replaced one form of exploitation with another, while the socialist revolution abolished exploitation and exploiters.
What did the Great October Revolution give in relation to Russia and the rest of the world. First about the world. No one disputes the thesis that the Russian impulse for justice had a serious impact on the social policy of the countries of classical capitalism. That is, the attitude towards equality, which was declared by the October Revolution, quickly gained worldwide popularity. Sociality is the first good brought by the October Revolution.
The undermining and destruction of the colonial system is also the result of the existence of the USSR and its attempts to ensure the equality of all peoples.
Introduction of civilizational institutions and civilizational forms of life in Asia and in Africa. Almost free of charge, the USSR carried out a grandiose civilizational mission in this previously completely backward region and turned it into several economically decent states with advanced education, health care, science and culture for that time.
Today, China will increasingly determine the agenda of the life of mankind as a whole. Let me remind you of a very important fact: the USSR practically free of charge created the material and technical base of the Chinese economy in the fifties, which, of course, is also an amazing achievement of the Soviet Union.
The Great October unleashed the mighty forces of social progress, which in the shortest historical period unrecognizably transformed the face of the entire planet. October has become the banner of the peoples who are building a new society, an inspiring example of the working people who are fighting against the yoke of capital.
The October Revolution caused the spiritual emancipation of the working people. During the life of one generation, the country got rid of illiteracy. The working people became active participants in cultural life and creators of spiritual values.
The October Revolution comprehensively revealed the great world-historical liberation mission of the working class.
The experience of the revolution confirmed the truth of Lenin's thesis that only the working class, led by the Communist Party, can lead the entire mass of the working and exploited in the creation of a new just social order.
The establishment and consolidation of Soviet power as one of the forms of the dictatorship of the proletariat in fact ensured unprecedented freedom and democracy, impossible in any capitalist country, for the vast majority of working people.

All power to the Soviets! Peace to the nations! Freedom equality Brotherhood!

Yes, of course. GULAG slave labor camps were not an exploitation at all. :D In fact USSR saw a lot more exploitation than any developed capitalist country at the same time.

And yet the USSR failed miserably. Communism doesn't work. Even the Russians finally figured that out.

Slave labor camps are labor camps in the United States. As well as the concentration camps in Germany and the USA.
Gulag for that time, an incredibly humane form of punishment for criminals.
Everything must be compared. For example, the above camps in the US and Germany are much more brutal than the Soviet camps. Or look at Europe at that time - in the USSR industrialization, universal literacy, cultural development and freedom of entrepreneurial activity are taking place, but in Europe, at the same time, blacks are shown in zoos, heads are publicly chopped off on guillotine, and people are burned in gas chambers.
    So study history.

Ain't that the Anniversary where Russia started killing 20 million of their own population. That is quite the main event of this century alone almost even eclipsing Hitler's reign of mass murder.

Unfortunately, the project of building socialism failed in the USSR. And the beginning of this failure was laid by the scoundrel Khrushchev, who introduced elements of capitalism into the Soviet economy.
But the future certainly belongs to socialism (as Lenin said, socialism is the lowest stage of communism, which has retained the rudiments of the old system. Such as, for example, money).
Technological development will inevitably lead to a change in the social and political system, just as technological development has led to the abolition of feudalism and the victory of capitalism.

And yet Russians are better off today than they were under in the USSR. They have proven you wrong.

I'm wondering why you limited yourself to 20 million? You can write a billion killed. Better yet, write right away - a trillion people were killed in the Gulag. :roflol::roflol::roflol:

Naturally they live better. They also live better than under the kings.
By the way, you can write that today they live better than under the primitive communal system.
In general, people with the development of technology, as a rule, live better. For example, half a century has passed since the collapse of the USSR.
And as an example - in the 1900s, people mostly traveled on horseback. And half a century later, in the 1950s, not only cars appeared, but also airplanes and even launched a satellite into space.
And in the war, from the cavalry, as the main shock unit, they switched to tank attacks and air bombardments.
And it does not depend on the socio-political system.
In Russia, after the end of the civil war, under Soviet rule, after 10 years the entire population of the USSR was literate, after 6 years there was no unemployment in the USSR, and in 10 years after the end of the civil war, the standard of living of the population increased three times. This is what socialism is.

    And there is. Yes.
Unfortunately, no rule was worked out to prevent such scoundrels and fools as Khrushchev from gaining power in the USSR.
If you read about what this moron Khrushchev promoted in the economy, then you will understand that with his arrival the construction of socialism was curtailed. And the gradual economic collapse of the country and the degradation of the development of the population began.

What does "Stalinist" mean in your understanding?
I admire Stalin, and I consider Lenin the most outstanding political figure in the history of mankind - he not only developed the philosophy, ideology, economics and politics of the new social and political system, but also brought it to life. This has never been done by anyone in the history of mankind.
But other people also amaze me. For example, I admire Guy Julius Caesar, Charlemagne - the king of the Franks and the founder of the Carolingian empire, Bismarck, Napoleon ....
I admire Ivan the Terrible - this is an incredibly educated and fruitful politician, slandered both in the West and in Tsarist Russia during the Romanov era.
And of course I admire Comrade Stalin. And I'm not alone. Churchill, Roosevelt, De Gaulle... and many others admired Comrade Stalin. So I'm in good company. Is not it?

Much of a society’s secrets can be exposed by its jokes:

“Do you have a hobby, Leonid Ilyich?"
    - "Of course! I collect jokes about myself."
    - "Have you got many?"
    - "Two and a half labor camps full already!”

Wouldn't suprise me if that had happened. Russian people sure do seem to accept being oppressed by crazy egomaniacal dictators who get rich off their suffering.

Why Putin of course. He went from a low paid KGB agent to the richest man in Russia while changing laws to make him supreme dictator for the last 25 years.

Yup and so they tried democracy and a form of capitalism in the 90's. What did America do to help them transition? Not much, but NATO continued to exist treating Russia as our mortal enemy. Do you know Russia asked to join NATO? They actually tried to join the rest of the world. And now here we are facing WW3 which will most likely end in nuclear attacks. What good things the world has to look forward to in the New Year! Peace on earth and goodwill towards men. Not!

Maybe, Russia tried to join Nato so they could be the blocking vote to keep Ukraine from joining NATO and stopping NATO from interfering with Russia's future invasion to steal Ukrainian land for themselves.

I'm sure that is what Russia was thinking as they were falling apart in the early 90's. It's ignorant people like yourself that is for the war in Europe. God help us all.

Nazis said exactly the same about their concentration camps. You as their mental brother follow the pattern.

America helped them not to starve to death, third time in 20ty century. I hope where there again will come to starving in Russia, US will not help them, because in return US receive only hate from those, who survive starvation. I remember, how we in school collected pencils, notebooks and stuff like this, to send to Russian children, because they had none. And after some years I figured out from Russian TV that we are Nazis, who should be destroyed...
But anyway, can You tell to others, how exactly US should help to Russia to get to democracy, except of financial and humanitarian help?

It is all about power and at no time would Russia concede future endeavors in a country run by mafia and corrupt politicians all of whom want to keep and/or expand their power as has been proven over and over again. It is too bad the Russian people cannot see through this to stand up. But then again, when their mass media disinformation and outside information blocking is prevalent, they probably don't know any better.
