Following such logic, the argument could be made that prohibiting the private ownership and use of motor vehicles is not only justified but also logically sound, as they are used in numerous crimes and other violent incidents that lead to a significant loss of life. One could make the case that their illicit use outnumbers all of the legitimate uses of motor vehicles. There are circumstances during which basic transportation is a crime in itself, which is supposedly the intended purpose of motor vehicles. Meaning that even if motor vehicles are used for their intended purpose, their use is still a criminal act.

Over the years I have legally made maybe 300 pounds of black powder, some of it around 2 or 3 F and a bit of it around 4F for a display, which I commonly mixed with aluminum or magnesium for bright white and with a touch of barium carbonate for green, calcium carbonate for red, copper oxide for blue.

And in the end have set off some very safe and rather spectacular firework displays.

The Boston bombs weren’t made with gun powder, black or otherwise, but commonly available ingredients. So, ban Lowe’s, Home Depot and hardware stores?
