There are going to be tens of millions who will not be able to pay these premiums a month and they will be hit with fines. This is looking worse all the time as more information is being revealed about the 'Affordable Care Act'. Your average young person working paying rent, bills, car note, etc. wont be able to handle it.

    http://finance.yahoo.com/news/apnewsbreak-early-look-health-laws-181912365.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The No. 1 question about President Barack Obama's health care law is whether consumers will be able to afford the coverage. Now the answer is coming in.

The biggest study yet of premiums posted by states finds that the sticker price for a 21-year-old buying a mid-range policy will average about $270 a month. That's before government tax credits that act like a discount for most people, bringing down the cost based on their income.

List-price premiums for a 40-year-old buying a mid-range plan will average close to $330, the study by Avalere Health found. For a 60-year-old, they were nearly double that at $615 a month.

Starting Oct. 1, people who don't have health care coverage on their job can go to new online insurance markets in their states to shop for a private plan and find out if they qualify for a tax credit. Come Jan. 1, virtually all Americans will be required to have coverage, or face fines.

How people don't cringe at that sentence boggles my mind. So disgusting what can happen when Democrats are not defeated.

Those fines and premiums will force people into bankruptcy.

    It gets so much worse..............................

ObamaCare cap on out-of-pocket costs delayed

That means the premiums may stay the same, but how much you're obligated to pay out of pocket and for what is subject to change.

But at least I can get free birth control pills so that my zero percent chance of getting pregnant as a guy becomes something like negative zero percent chance of becoming pregnant. I am such a slut. :cheerleader: YOLO!

They'll find out Nov 2014. It's one thing when low information folks hear in passing Fast & Furious this and Benghazi that, it goes in one ear and out the other. However, when Obama Care belly flops it's way into peoples already strained budgets, the Democrats can expect massive blow back in the 2014 mid-terms.

Hmmmmmm. More disinformation from those who need Obamacare to fail in order for their party to win an election. Shocker.

Did the OP misunderstand this paragraph? It seems that the words that I have highlighted below are pretty clear. If you ain't got the dough, the premiums will be subsidized.

The biggest study yet of premiums posted by states finds that the sticker price for a 21-year-old buying a mid-range policy will average about $270 a month. That's before government tax credits that act like a discount for most people, bringing down the cost based on their income.

That's presuming you get the credits. So your "Next" is a falsehood, and highly subjective. And who knows if these tax credits can supplement the cost of the tax hikes?

    Democrats=The party of Economic Incompetence.

What tax hikes? What are you talking about? Did some pundit tell you that the credits won't be forthcoming?

It says in the very quote "Most People", these credits will clearly be regulated in some format that may very well prevent "some" people from getting them. Or even if "all" people get them, it's possible these credits deliver less relief than expected.

In other words, its an economic uncertainty. But the certainty we do know is the hefty prices.

Again: Democratic Economic Fail. And shame on the Supreme Court for legalizing taxation without representation in '2013.

Are you trying to set me up for an infraction or something? You cannot expect to be treated respectfully when you post such drivel.

You are certain about "the hefty prices"? Huh? Tell me, are you more certain of them than you are of the credits? If so, how? Why so certain about the potential negatives of the law....but so uncertain about the potential positives? Could it be an agenda of some kind?

The credits are based on income. They are codified. Understand? They are certain.

Use this calculator to figure subsidies they do a decent job of giving a good number for each party to know where they stand, note the Bronze Plan is there but offers the worst benefits.

    http://kff.org/interactive/subsidy-calculator/

If one is in a non-Medicaid expanding state or not is also covered.

All true, however the average young person is very liberal and compassionate. They are quite willing to pay much more for their health care if it enables America's poor to have the best available health care also.

With the highest quality health care available to them, poor people will no longer need Medicaid and be required to wait for an hour or more to be seen by a doctor.

America's young people are an example of how Americans of all ages should be. Americans should be patriotic and either lead, follow, or get out of the way.

    Thank you

That is income dependent if your not in a Medicaid expansion state and entering the Federal Exchanges and earning say $15,000 a year as an income the Silver Plan is $300 a year if you don't smoke and there are heavy out of pocket cost help this is set in the law. If you get the Bronze Plan and the out of pocket costs are not helped much the plan is FREE for the one getting the coverage. The smart choice is the Silver Plan.

Are you saying this worker can't afford $25 a month for coverage?

Let me explain this the lower in income the more help the ACA offers you until you hit under 100% of the Federal Poverty Line. Not a hard concept.

My priorities just place making money under other things I find more important, I work about 40 hours a month excluding long days for special events such as 4th of July or Free Museum Day downtown here and I do take off about three months over the summer save days I can't ignore due to the income I can get in tips. What is so good about stressing out about keeping up with society I'd rather keep my life simple and have a good time doing what I wish to do, making allowance for the fact I need to earn some income.

My goal now is to make enough to get into an Exchange and if the state expands Medicaid I will work less since that is cheaper for me by along shot, and gauge my amount of work based on that the one major expense and concern have.

Let's see, so REPUBLICANS go to court and block a provision for ONE year for SOME recipients who have multiple insurance policies, and somehow its "Obama's FAULT"!

And NO ONE is required to pay MORE "out of pocket", the "out of pocket" shown on the Silver Plan IS STILL the maximum, its just that a few people who have multiple health plans may have to pay ALL of that instead of having a HUGE reduction like MOST Obamacare recipients will.

Sad. Republicans are willing to sabotage ANYTHING and LIE about ANYTHING for working Americans in order to make their political points.

Just to be clear how MUCH information this poster leaves out, here is what he leaves unsaid form his FOx News source:

and of course the average 21 year old will be on their parents coverage until age 26

I think we need to get rid of the conservatives individual mandate and implement Obama's public option

we can then mark this post and check their prices afterwards... you seem to be making a case for Obama's public option if anything....

What do you have to say to liberals who are already ahead? Who are not poor? Anything?
