Anyone who has ever worked for someone and paid by the hour is benefiting from trickle down. The only way trickle down doesn't work is when someone with money keeps it all in their mattress. Don't let the MSM and the democrats trick you with their false promise to help the poor. They only want to help themselves and that means no tax break for anyone.

Looking at the rise in real wages for the last 40 years, that "trickling" has mostly been "trickling" to foreign factories and shareholders and board members.

Well, maybe some of that money trickles down to workers -- in China. The rest of the trickling for US workers is debt.

Second, the US corporations are sitting on trillions of cash that doesn't trickle down. It is virtually stuffed in the mattress in form of stock buybacks. How is giving them some more money going to start the trickling?

Hopefully that will start to reverse with lower tax rates of 21% vs. the 35% on business now. I have noticed a high increase in "Help Wanted" signs around a lot of business places. This tells me that people are finding higher paying jobs and soon these places will also have to increase wages and benefits to attract help. Even where I work the young kids are moving on. We are resorting to high school, handicap and older retired people to fill positions. Management positions are being filled with people who have had little experience in the trade. The company cannot do much because they are under Union contract. I'm sure the next contract will be higher wages and a restoration of some benefits lost in the past or the senior employees will walk. I'm already hearing from some managers who are looking for other jobs. This may cost a rise in product to the consumer but it is time to focus on our employees who have sacrificed for the company long enough.

Try not to use "trickle down" it's playing into their "bogus semantics" hand. Fact: when taxes on business are lower, businesses have more money to spend on hiring, raises, R&D.

The part of the tax plan I'm most excited about is the relaxation of depreciation rules for certain small business purchases. The first truly pro small business tax policy reform I've seen in a long time. Most of what they call "small business friendly" tax policies in the past have been grafty gimmes for cronies, not really for small business.

What cracks me up is that they TELL you how bad it's going to work in the very name.

How much do you think you're going to get if I tell you I'm gonna give you a trickle? Not very much huh... And trickle down (very slowly) is all that ever happens..in fact it's why the middle class has been falling behind for 35 years

But wait...they HAVE "more money". In fact they are enjoying record profits. So why aren't they doing what you claim they do when they have "more money"?

Barbecue they react to DEMAND...and the people who create that demand...are NOT getting much if any tax cut OR wage increases.

This is America, the land of opportunity. If you don't want to wait for trickle down then figure out a way to become wealthy. The problem with the poor is they keep doing what poor people do. They think ahead to the weekend. They will always be poor. Is that you? Do what the wealthy do, think ahead for 10, 20, 30 years, plan your financial future. You are going to be disappointed if you wait for the government to make your life better.

Exactly, that’s supply side economics. Reduce the government imposed costs on production. Lower prices and more jobs.

Dude...we've been waiting for 35 years.

Voodoo Economics (yes that's what GHW Bush called it) has failed time and again...if the goal is anything but making the rich richer

LOL...even dumber. Supply and demand requires responding to demand with supply.

Supply side says that companies should create goods and services and then wait for demand to catch up. Huh?

The only thing that trickles up is poverty. Thats why under Obama food stamps went from 27,000,000 to 48,000,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    .

Show me a company that actually pays a 35% tax rate and I'll show you they have high school drop outs as their CFO and accountants. Due to loopholes they pay far less.

My family is demanding hamburgers tomorrow. In response to that demand, I will be grilling on the barbecue.

I am just a dumb electrician making good in the economic system of America. It is amazing what a little work ethic and foresight will do though. Heck, I am part owner of hundreds of multi-million/billion dollar businesses. And doing quite well if I may add. If I made it, anyone can. And if a person isn't making it, they either need to up their efforts or lower their expectations.

It wasn't that Great Recession and the subsequent Republican foot dragging in the Recovery?

Actually it was the stupidity of Obama, and his piling on of anti business regulations that screwed up the recovery.

Production always precedes consumption. Econ 101. Supply side acts to reduce prices so that more is consumed and more jobs are required. Unfunded demand is desire and is meaningless.

How is demand funded ?? Simple - by increased production, more jobs, and consequently more consumers. Again Econ 101. Go back to the caveman. He is hungry (he desires food). He uses his human capital and actual capital (bow and arrow) to produce deer meat. The lesson - production always precedes consumption (funded demand). Econ 101.

Your understanding of supply side principles is lacking,

That's ridiculous. Real median household income has increased steadily during supply side non recession (which have nothing to do with supply side policies) years. Compare that to the stagnation during the Obama Presidency.

More bumper sticker economics from the left.
