Ah, man, I missed baseball that whole season. Didn’t even register that the Rays made it to the WS. Glad I missed such a <feminine hygiene product> move pulling Snell, just now had to study up on it. Dude is impressive. Low key, wicked pitcher. Not married to a super model like V. Not raking in the insane paycheck like Gerrit. Tough call who to root for between these two for me. My good bud back in 77 would never shutup about the Phillies, so he kinda brainwashed me into liking them before I finally got a clue how cool this sport actually is around 05 I think it was. Watching the Stros Play KC, for some reason that game was the one where I finally figured out that the main feature of the sport is a two man battle of willpower. That was enlightening AF! And seeing the Phillies whip Atl, well, even though Joc and his pearls have moved on to a better place with SF, meh, I’m still feeling adversarial toward the Braves. So I’m digging your guys’ success. But I love Snell. Seems like an awesome dude, so I won’t be suffering like you will if SD comes out on top. I’m not experienced enough with this game to appreciate relative rankings. I’m just fortunate enough to live in H town for the past 27 years and have this team get me interested and for some reason I’m blazed to watch this sport this playoff. It’s pretty sweet at 58 - better late than never!
@Independent4ever this game is fresh. Ballpark is bright. Teams are well matched. Way better baseball to watch than the Stros. My boys are making it too serious for me and seem to be wound a bit tight about it themselves. Much more fun watching this game. I think I’m pulling for the Phils actually, huh!
Gotta love Marsh. Seems like MLB would have made it illegal for a homeless hippie to play ball in the big leagues.
What a game. Gotta be tough on SD. At least we ain’t gotta have Costas blabbering aboot stuff. Fun always to listen to Big Poppy though postgame. Cool mfr no doubt there.
You got ‘em back with a bonus month at least though, eh? Excellent game for my neutral ass, thanks man! Good stuff!
A long way to go with a shaky bullpen in this one As for the Astros - as I said the other day, just too much pitching. I don't see whomever wins the NL having more than a slim chance
Wow - that was an improbable win, especially falling behind 4-0 in the first Need Wheeler to continue his run tomorrow and for the offense to have another good game
I was honestly hoping Judge would crank out a homer and send this game into OT, but it’s cool ese: Go Stros!
Here we go dude - best of luck to you and the Phils! Late season hot streak like y'all got going on is never to be underestimated. Hotlanta brought that late season heat to Houston just last year. Even as they played in that miserable game in Atlanta.... Didn't y'all just smoke the 21 champs? This will likely not be a sweep, and ought to be hopefully one of the most epic WS battles ever, of all time.
Astros lead 5-0 (Verlander looking unhittable pitching)... Now Phillies lead 6-5 in the 10th... Justin Verlander...0-6 Career in the World Series... JV can't ho!d a 5-0 Lead... JV = An Overpaid Bum with No Professional Pride... JV = Redefines the word "Prideless"... Leading 5-0 and Lose? Wtf? Can't happen...:smdh:
Surely your faith in the Phillies has been buttressed after yesterday's game, yes!? I questioned leaving Abreu in after that walk and then he walked another before they pulled him. I reckon Mancini must somehow be a Jim Crane special request because he sure AF doesn't hit well enough to be placed in the lineup as V's DH. I'd even consider pulling my fave Altuve at this point. Good luck again tonight, Stros obviously have some management issues and the Phils have every right to win again, but Tucker was great! I had a long week and crashed last night at the top of the 4th, only to finally catch up this morning to make it to the bottom of the 10th and see such a disappointing end to it from my pov obviously: very happy for you!
