The school let them out of class to attend the protest and school staff stood by with refreshments. School officials also slandered the business.

Regardless of how this lawsuit is eventually adjudicated it has already done irreparable damage to Oberlin Ohio.

Did you even read the links associated with this? The so called racist past didn't exist until the lawsuit reared it's ugly head. Also if you had read any of it you would have seen that the school actively supported the students by giving time out of classes to protest and tried to threaten the business into not pressing charges.

You are the one making assumptions. This is not an indictment of higher education but a lesson taught that if you falsely accuse a business or individual of something totally false just to proove some misguided point you will and should pay the piper. This school (more like indoctrination center) should have to pay and it should hurt, bad.

There's a lot to be said for thinking BEFORE acting. $11 million worth.

I don't see evidence that the school made an accusation. The school certainly states that it did NOT do that.

And, if students aren't going to show up at a class, then the class is canceled. I don't remember any college class where someone took attendance - it's the responsibility of the students to make use of the resources provided by the school - and that includes class time.

This thread definitely has posters who hate higher education. So, I'm not surprised at the praise for suing the school. And, I'm well aware that some college towns hate their local college, too. As I posted earlier, I've seen that.

Well, defendants in trials usually claim they didn't do it. The evidence says otherwise. What evidence? Oh, look here -

If you still don't see that evidence, you're willfully going out of your way NOT to see it.

No, what you've seen are posters who hate the liberal mindset OF the people running higher education. You have yet to quote where someone here explicitly says they hate higher education itself. And we all know why - because there isn't one, save in your imagination.

I'm not asking you to provide a quote anymore - for me, it's enough that the rest of the board sees how poor your argument is.

Hate higher education? This is what the left does, if it’s not islmophobia, then it’s hate. If it’s not misogamy, then it’s hate. If it’s not homophobia, then it’s hate. If it’s not racist, then it’s hate.

You guys are so easily led that all of you use the same words.

How is this an example of "higher education" and how does commenting it equate to hate?

Possibly alot more, the punitive damages have not been meted out yet..... that could run into hundreds of millions of dollars.

But a jury did and they has access to a hell of lot more information than you. You only had access to what a corrupt and biased MSM felt newsworthy.

We HATE radical indoctrination posing as higher education. Gender studies and ethnic studies are religions (NOT SCIENCE). They should be pulled out of the universities and put into churches that are funded by the radicals (not the taxpayers).

Those were demands after the fact. It doesn't say anything about participation.

The demands are undoubtedly in favor of consistency in terms of how first time offenders are treated.

You've got nothing pertaining to this charge that the college participated in the event.

And, I agree that your hate for higher education came BEFORE this event - as I've said above.

    Read Stuart Wolf above.

He claimed that he and others hate. And, there is nothing in his comment that restricts that hate to this institution OR this event.

So, yes - I agree with him that he has properly identified his emotion and that it is based on some nebulous concept of college in general.

And, I agree with him that he is not alone.

Are YOU one of those he refers to as sharing his hate?

Oberlin is an institution of higher education.

See Stuart Wolfe and his comments concerning hate and the community of people who he believes shares that hate for institutions of higher education.

Seriously? "The filing also alleged that protesters followed Raimondo’s instructions to use the copy machine in the college’s Conservatory to make copies of a flyer that stated Gibson’s Bakery “is a racist establishment with a long account of racial profiling and discrimination.” Raimondo also “communicated to the protesters using a megaphone and instructed the protesters as to where they could seek food and refreshment that would allow them to continue the defamatory protests,” court documents said. Documents said Raimondo, using college resources, directed college employees to provide refreshments for the protesters. Raimondo also “approved the use of college funds to purchase gloves for the protesters,” the filing said."

Those ALONE prove the college was participating in the PR attack against the bakery. How can you post with a straight face? It's like you're trying to convince us 1 + 1 = 3 in the face of all proofs saying it's 2.

I don't see that as a function of a college. I'm fairly sure that's the law's job. And in any event, the court says otherwise.

Outside of the documents saying otherwise. Will, you haven't been reading at all.

Again, a quote. One will do. One quote from someone here saying they hate higher education as opposed to the politically-charged SJW admins which are two entirely different things. I saw X-Men: Dark Phoenix this weekend - and I didn't see a plaque on Professor X's wall listing you as a mind-reading alumni.

I agree that you have absolutely nothing at all for an argument, much less proof of your claims. But please - do go on and dig that hole deeper. It only makes the rest of us laugh that much more at your posts.

Really? Nothing in my comments that restricts hate to the institution or the event?

Seriously - just stop. Your posts have become embarrassing. My posts are literally the opposite of what you're saying they are. I'm pretty sure there's a word for that.

I considered reporting his posts - but let's face it, proving his posts completely wrong in front of the forum using his own words is far more satisfying than a mod deleting them altogether.

I wish this would be the beginning of the end of false slander based on race or gender .... but you and I know that it won't spread any further than this single incident. Political correctness is killing us.
