Okay I need to get this one off: Is it more patriotic to vote for republicans?

I know republicans are terrible in many ways, they are zealous, chauvinistic and downright repulsive and intolerant in many aspects, but I can not ignore the unusual amount of resentment among the liberals toward America.

You can read those anti-american comments here and there on huffpost, dem underground, media matters etc.etc.

It's scary, how should anyone believe you are hoping the best for a country if you don't like it in the first place?

Does anyone here still remember Rev. Wright? Those stuff are bombshells! And Van Jones, and POTUS' Chicago mentor who bombed police statues...

I'm not saying Obama hates America one way or the other, I'm just worried he might be disgruntled like many his fellow liberals that he stopped to give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about America no more, long time ago.

On the other hand, liberatarians, tea partiers and cons had never showed any resentment that I know of toward the nation itself, at most, they are pissed about the government.

After all, their families are inside the country, their business are inside the country, and the country still mean something to them before they can out-source everything out. While liberals? They are clean shaven.

Don't confuse hating the conservative establishment with hating the country, they are NOT the same. Our government is disliked by liberals because of it's hypocrisy and bad behavior in the eyes of the world. Many of the things we have done as a nation are shameful and inexusable. Wars for profit, liar balaket policies, double standards for wealthy vs. the poor, the list goes on. We want to fix these things, and the Republicans just want to call us names. They are the ones who will destroy everything we built, everything we stand for, and they are what brings US down. No terrorise group has done as much damage to our country than the conservatives.

It's also more patriotic to share your success by paying your taxes, which is something Republicans do not believe in.

 

Hmmm. Not sure what you are talking about here. Most liberals I speak with are angry with some of our policies, not anti-American as in they don't like the United States as a whole. Not unlike conservatives being angry about liberals ideas/policies at all imo.

 

If it weren't for republicans paying their taxes, you lefties wouldn't have the money for your giveaway programs.

And how can you sit there with a straight face talking about republicans not paying taxes with obama admin official after obama admin official has been found to have NOT PAID their income taxes?

 

Problem with this thinking, is we are being taxed more today (percentage wise), then we were during WWII and we were fighting a World War on two fronts.

 

If you want our country to support this instead of the Stars and Stripes then keep voting democratic.

Look at the Issues, look at the positions, do your own research and vote for the candidate's whom are likely to fulfill your self interest.

My interests include, being free to do what i like so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else this makes me Libertarian.

Since the government has entered the healthcare arena in this country the quality and quantity of care provided has gone down compared to the population.

The democrats and republicans have wasted our taxes on supporting dictators and authoritarian regimes such as Pinochet in Chile, The Shaw in Iran and Saddam in Iraq and then sent our brave men and women in our armed forces to clean up the mess they made.

They have devalued our currency, and failed at every attempt to stimulate our economy.

The truth is our government can't do the job they have now, yet they keep asking for more money, power and responsibility.

The seize American property and people indefinitely without crimes or convictions declared.

Police are seizing property from small business owners, not because they are being charged with a crime but because their property is suspected to be a place where illegal activity has taken place, the police are selling these "private properties" in America.

Myself a patriot, i don't know, but i stride for an America i love. I won't stride to support actions because i love America.

If you have an American flag in your front yard, you are sending code word signals to other whites that you are a racist.

There is no recognition on the part of the liberals for American innovation, charity and contributions to world peace, relief efforts or democratic reforms.

Our society does not have a mono-mind. There are many views and opinions of many things. Your "values", are not the same values of every person living here. And the reason that is "okay" is because of our Constitution.

 

I don't think the Democrats dislike the US, but that doesn't mean they don't think it could be better. Standing around waving a flag doesn't actually accomplish anything. "Hoping" the best for your country is ok, I guess, but it's worthless compared to pursuing opportunities for betterment.

 

The simple act of voting is patriotic enough. The party is your own business.

 

And the liberals continue to elect war mongers just like the Republicans continue to elect big spenders.

I disagree very much with the OP. Republicans not only have a great dislike, arguably hatred, for the vast majority of Americans (all of them that aren't wealthy), but they're actively opposed to the prosperity of that same vast majority. Republicans are anti-American in every practical sense of the word.

What liberals do is call the government on it when it screws up -- sending the troops to the wrong place, funneling the money in the wrong direction. That's not anti-American, that's that whole speaking truth to power business.

Conservatives have a very childlike, naive and narrow-minded view of reality. Similar to how a child perveives his/her parent is how they view the country. A child only sees the good and positive things about their parent and overlooks or simply ignores the negative. They block out reality and insert their own biased view. They refuse to see things as they really are out of fear, they want to believe that their world is wholly good.

Liberals have a more mature, realistic and accurate view of reality. Yes, they criticize their country, but the truth is, the country is not perfect and it is not unpatriotic to criticize your country, or parent, when prudent and factual.

To never criticize one's own country suggests it is free of imperfections; this mindset denies reality. No country is perfect. Denying that the country is imperfect is detrimental and damaging to any nation or people. This mentality obscures reality and is an impedement to beneficial and much needed change and improvement.
