That is not entirely accurate. Trump has always been anti-vax (just like he's always been a Democrat) for all the years prior to running for office. He didn't encourage anybody to wear masks, socially distance or get the vaccine (he did a half-hearted shout out at a recent CPAC event but that's it). He even refused to participate in the Public Service Announcement with the other former POTUSes who got their vaccinations on camera.

Now, he claiming that it's Biden fault they don't trust the vaccine. That's not true either. Anti-vaxxers don't trust vaccines regardless of who is in office or what they have to say about it. Trump is just doing what he does best - keeping up sh!t. ;-( And, his brain diarrhea is infectious because now DeSantis has lost the plot and Abbot is a close second.

So, yes the vaccine is VERY MUCH POLITICIZED.

Isn't it odd that self-preservation is hard-wired into us, yet we become distrustful of things that are supposed to save us? I mean, masks have been around for such a long time, yet we still don't believe they do any good.

I want to buy one of these.

It's not that. People are just lazy. All last year I lived next door to an idiot. She had guys from the local homeless shelter in/out of her place constantly. She contracted COVID (and probably some other nasties) but refused to stay in her apartment. She literally went in/out 40-50x/day. It was annoying because she always slammed the door which is how I know that. She was using the laundry room during that time so I just waited to do mine. She brought bed bugs in the building right before COVID hit the US and had head lice (a friend asked her why she shaved her head). She was just gross on every level. I know it's mean but I was so happy when they kicked her out.

And, sadly, I know MANY people in my area that won't buy masks (it cuts into their booze, cigs and drug money) and I know many that refused the vaccine. These people don't read. Some of them have never been on the internet PERIOD. Some of them don't have smart phones and some of them just do whatever Trump tells them to do. I still can't figure out why anybody is taking medical advice from ANY politicians.

That's funny! It reminds me of some of the masks they wore in an episode of Agatha Christie's Poirot for a costume party.

The cool thing is if you get that one, people WILL socially distance FROM YOU! LOL

This is a very sad story. I only wish you didn't put a political slant on it since you stated he was a democrat but still tried to tie it to Trumpian talking points. Statistically the correlation between political party and vaccination is weak at best.

This guy was probably really impacted financially. Did this former employee have medical coverage since he caught the vaccine 2 weeks after losing his job. Is his family on the hook for the hospital bills? Did he also lose out on a company life insurance plan? All of our employees are covered for 2 years salary worth of life insurance.

Oh yeah! Didn't think about that.
When I first saw those, I didn't know if they were serious masks, but they were well designed and as far as I know, effective during the Bubonic Plague.

Good for you. I doubt the entire story. What's worse, doubting it or fabricating it? (quiet possibly...)

And spare me your fake outrage while you're at it I've heard no less than four or five lefties here on the board essentially wishing death on anyone who didn't get the vaccine so save the rap buddy. You guys got what you wanted you should be happy. And I did not see you rushing into those threads with your moral outrage...

I am on your side. I am just trying to be accurate. I am ready to stand up to my employer if they threaten my livelihood because they disagree with my medical decisions. I won't put up with it.

Is it though? A snap shot of posters on mask usage and vaccine in this forum would indicate a high correlation,

There are a lot of liberals, not progressives who call themselves liberals, who don't want to take these vaccines.

Masks is more of a rightwing thing though.

if he wished he had taken the shot and was getting better why didn't he? or can you do that?
This is bad, I sympathize. I think we're going to get a lot more of this and I lay it square to Trump and the Trumpers with their politicization of everything.

Maybe we should do what i've suggested. Make it so that you have to sign a document saying you renounce Trumperism or you can't vote. We did it after the last Insurrection

Why would you assume that a person's phone will run out of battery?

Did you actually know multiple people who have died from COVID? It seems statistically unlikely that someone would know a person who had died from COVID.

Generally having ever supported Trump for any high political office for any reason. You would have to sign a document saying you renounce him and/or anyone he supports

My Father died from Covid earlier this year and my oldest daughter just got over Covid that lasted weeks and really agitated her asthmatic conditions. Wasn't entirely sure she would recover, but she did.

In regards to phone batteries dying, if one is rushed to the hospital they may forget a charger.

Fortunately, my boss does not try to dictate our private life and our medical decisions. I would go find another job in a hurry, even if it was spraying round up in the Orange groves. You know a job they say Americans won't do.

I'm very sorry to hear about your father. I was thinking that in a country of over 300 million, with 600 thousand COVID deaths,
it would be statistically unlikely that someone would know a person who has died from COVID.

Combining this opinion of yours with your opinion that anyone who is not vaccinated should be forcibly vaccinated and subsequently incarcerated for a year and fined $1,000 and have their children taken away from them...... Do you realize what a would be tyrant this makes you sound like? I truly hope you are never elected to so much as dog catcher in a small City.

And you do realize that the op politicized this thread and tried to blame it on Trump even after acknowledging that the man did not like Trump?

Yet one more reason to be skeptical of this account.

In our city of 8000 I only know of two people and I did not personally know them. And remember this is Florida where we are all supposed to be dropping like flies according to the left

One American in roughly 500 has died so far. The average American knows 600 people and can maintain maximum roughly 150 close associates. So even taking into account demographics of this forum, you would think that quite a few people here know or have heard about somebody that they knew who died of Covid.

Bear in mind @Gollum was talking about an ex-employee that he wasn't particularly close to.
