If they were part of a presidential inauguration, put them in the history section too.

Did you actually READ what Ana said?

    Go ahead.... take your time...

It's always an advantage to read what you post.... saves a lot of egg on face...

Put me on ignore or don't bother responding. Problem solved.

I disagree with that advice. More people need to let you know that your memes are stupid, so you'll do better. Do better next time.

This mirrors the quality of a Gorman poem:

And now compare that to this:

And so you are for censoring the other poems? Why are you for censorship? And why should US presidential history take precedence over the history of the world? There are a great many poets who did not have the privilege to speak at a US presidential inauguration. Are you for silencing their voices?

See, I can use the other side's logic, too.

At least I wasn't stupid enough to support the guy.

P.S. You should put me on ignore, too.

I think the fact that you are requesting that people put you on ignore suggests that your feelings are hurt. Perhaps you, my dear, need to put us on ignore.

I taught computer science and economics, the former being the more mentally taxing, of course. But economics is important and worth knowing. Putting down the humanities is a mistake.

    How about excessive hubris list?

I thought you were upset because you're a fan of the Orange Oaf, so I suggested a way out for you.

I sat through Her reciting the poem in the inauguration. it was mostly just feelgood fluff without substance to the point it was tedious. The cadence of this person reading this poem was annoying. it was that southern preacher effect that was the primary reason i stopped going to Calvinist churches.

is this reason enough to ban the poem? no. is critical race theory a reason to ban this book? perhaps. CRT is crackpot nonsense on the level of essential oils or faith healing. so, it depends how it is framed.

As with most people critical of CRT, I'm willing to bet you don't even know what it is about.

I'm saying someone without training in a subject (you) trying to tell those WITH training in the subject that you know better than they do about the subject is laughable.

This is cuckoo talk. This is a pitiful, weird, laughable form of credentialism. Those who waste their time getting a hardly marketable degrees at best in English Literature are no better qualified to appraise a poem or a poet than Joe Shmo down the block. And to compare their level of expertise to a doctor is just bizarre. No one on this forum needs a degree to properly evaluate a poem. No one on this forum should be diagnosing anyone with diseases. The comparison is false!

Yes, economics is worth knowing. English literature, too, is worth knowing. I agree. But economics, although in the category of humanities, is in a league of its own in comparison to English Literature. Properly constructing models requires a proper understanding of mathematics; the same does not hold true for English Literature. And, in principle, I think STEM is much more difficult than humanities. The poster to whom I was replying was seemingly comparing comprehending English Literature to comprehending astrophysics and immunology, which is fatuous.

So straight to the gaslighting huh?

it is interesting not a single leftist argued for CRT they just don't know what it is and think everyone is equally incompetent.

My experience has been that not one person who comes out against CRT has had a clue about what it is actually about.

But go ahead, surprise me and be the first.

No, what I said was that if the choice is guns or Penthouse Forum letters going into schools I will choose the letters.

Not that I think you are going to apologize for misinterpreting what I said.
