That's just an unfounded opinion by you to say men viewed women as a step up from a cow but barely during the time of Jesus.

That's just another unfounded opinion by you, there seems to be a pattern here. How could Jesus be a racist when He loves all people? Jesus message was of peace and love for all people.

The common assumption of many skeptics is that God chose the Jews just to give them some sort of preferential treatment. In reality, the Bible says that the Jews were selected to be a blessing to all the nations of the world. In fact, the same passages that says that God chose the Jews also says that God does not show partiality and commands the Jews to love other peoples.

Both the Old and New Testaments indicate that God does not show partiality among people, since He is the Creator of all.

The Old Testament indicates that the Jews were not prospered because of their righteousness, since they were "a stubborn people." However, the main way that the Jews were to be a blessing to all the peoples of the earth was that the Messiah was to be born through the line of David.

According to Mark, and before him Paul, the earliest Christians worked hard to evangelize Jews into Christianity. When Gentiles were approached, the first step was to convert them to Jews, and THEN to Christians. It was only later that Paul started to convert Gentiles directly. So Jesus' ministry was aimed squarely at the Hebrews. The "Jesus loved everyone" theme didn't emerge until well after John.

We must remember that the scriptures were written by and for, and redacted by and for, the Jews. And the Jews were hardly going to decide that someone ELSE was selected as this blessing.

Then why save Noah? Don't you think God could have found at least one more worthy person if He had looked?

And by astounding coincidence, a couple of generations after Jesus died, by golly the Gospels discovered that this was the case. Except of course there were some problems.

It seems Mark (the first Gospel written) spoke of Jesus as being from Nazareth, whereas the prophecy put him in Bethlehem. Now, in the original language a "nazarene" wasn't someone from Nazareth, the word had multiple meanings. It could easily have described some character trait, rather than hometown, of Jesus. But later gospels confused this, and invented a census as a workaround to get Jesus to be from both Nazareth and Bethlehem. And still later gospels had Joseph and Mary living in Jerusalem all along, the better to be in the line of David. There do seem to be some language barriers which prevented the various gospel writers (or their sources) from getting their stories straight.

So now you see yourself greater than God, and you're giving God some lessons...wow!

Aren't you being full of yourself?...lol

If Jesus had picked 12 women, you would be here protesting that and saying it wasn't correct for Him to do that.

If Jesus had picked 12 midgets you would be here protesting that and saying it wasn't correct for Him to do that.

Get over it, He picked 12 men as His disciples and that's that! There is nothing sinister about that except you thinking you are greater than God.

You can write until you are blue in the face. Whether or not women in your church "feel" (clever attempt at strawman...more deception from the religious side) they are being discriminated against IS NEVER I REPEAT IS NEVER going to change the fact that the Catholic church is in fact discriminating against them. Other than not having male genitalia you have failed for months to provide one (1) single solitary reason as to WHY your scripture doesn't allow this. Because God says so isn't an answer its simply a reiteration of the discrimination we already know is taking place. What is it? Are they not smart enough wise enough? I love the part where you say women have different roles than men in your church, YES we know and making important decisions isn't one them. Other than that Mrs. Lincoln how was the play?

No where in my post did I ever state I was "greater than God" and I also said nothing to even remotely elude to that. Also, its a straight up question, you failed once again to answer. If YOUR god was all knowing and Women are in fact equal, its a fair question to ask why did your god only choose men and no women. Ill answer for you........you have no idea why and you never thought to even ask. Freudian slip. Its a fair on point valid cogent question that you once again responded with an insult. Does your God condone you insulting others? Am I full of myself? No, I simply asked you a tough question that you responded to belligerent and insulting. You do this because you don't have an answer and therefore try to point my direction towards an insult rather than the fact you don't know the answer. The more you insult me the more it means I am winning the debate.
Also, midgets is a derogatory term for little people. A little person is no different than a large person but I guess in your Church its ok to insult people that aren't as tall as you. Seems rather hypocritical to me for a god lover to insult people who have done nothing to you. Does your god condone attacking people and insulting them? Apparently so. What is the punishment for insulting other humans based on the fact they were born in different proportions than you or they asked you a question that you solicited from them? We already know ass rape of children is not a problem...green light to heaven. Failure to worship, eternity......IN.......HELLL!L!L!L!L!!!!!!

THATS WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO GET YOU TO ANSWER!!!!! You say this but the actions recorded in your scripture literally tell a different story. Sure he loves all people....except non Hebrews, women, and apparently according to you "midgets". If he loves all people equally why are women not allowed to vote for Pope or become Priests? Aside from not having a Penis what is the answer recorded in your scripture that explains the reason definitively? There isn't one. Do I know your scripture better than you? Apparently so. Prove me wrong and cite the explanation that explains this other than your zombie like cultist prerecorded answer of "because god said so". Put some thought into it and get the answer. After months of trying to solicit the answer I would have thought you would have been able to ask someone in your church; better yet this Sunday how about you ask the women in your congregation why they think they are not allowed to partake in important decisions in your church. Oh yeah, there is no question answer period in Church by design to avoid these very questions being asked in a public forum. "God forbid" one of the women sitting there actually begins to think for herself and says "hmmmmm, that is a good question."

I think it is important to remember that there currently DOES NOT EXIST one single Gospel that is the ORIGINAL WRITING OR TEXT OF ANY APOSTLE.

    This is a FACT.

Everything that is currently in the New Testament was CHOSEN by the Roman Imperial Biblical Canon and the Gospels they CHOSE to be a part of the at the time....IN THE PROCESS OF BEING CREATED NEW TESTAMENT.....every Gospel was a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy...and then a few more times.

What happened is that the Roman's were persecuting Christians and all original Apostles Written Texts which we call Gospels WERE DESTROYED.

In ALL CASES....they were reproduced from MEMORY by various in hiding Christians and again in many cases such Christians and the reproduced texts of those Apostles were DESTROYED AGAIN!!!!

This went on for several hundred years and in REALITY there does not exist one Gospel that anyone can rely upon to be even 75% accurate as to the original.

It is thought in many cases many recreations of the texts of the original Apostles are completely MADE UP and no proof at all in any possible form can prove what is in the New Testament is what the actual Apostles actually wrote.

Even more astounding is they think responding with insults is somehow not only answering questions but winning the debate. 11 separate threads not a single question has been answered. Even a softball one like why aren't women allowed to vote for Pope? Response....."because god said so" Religious aversion to the word "WHY".

sometimes I think I come here for the sheer wonder of seeing grown men and women respond to civil (mostly) rationality with "YOU CAN'T MAKE ME, POO POO HEAD!"

but yeah, the unconscious aversion to the word 'why' has such a peculiarly strong hold over these good folk, that one starts to wonder if it doesn't meet (or in fact, make) some of the criteria for a new form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. certainly it's closely aligned to Stockholm Syndrome, so perhaps a hybrid condition worthy of inclusion in the next DSM?

The similarity is that both words were use as a racial insult to exert one race dominance over the other. Apes for the racist colonial European scientist while the N word for social European and both are political and socially in correct term just like the God particle is an incorrect term for some.

    True knowledge.

Today biologist use the term Ape on a total different meaning because as was pointed out the word HOMINDE is difficult to pronounce I can't even spell it correctly..... :) Hominidae

But that isn't how the word originated. It originated as a scientific term.

True knowledge as espoused by you?

No, they don't. This is a lie. I have provided numerous scientific articles where humans are described as apes.

Grasping....I know this is a lot to ask considering who this is about....but I think YOU are capable of doing it.

As I have stated....in now what is 12 to 60 hours...I am leaving the states for a...JOB.

I consider this issue with WanRen important as we can either make a stand here and now and try to make this Forum as a place where different people of different beliefs can debate honestly and with respect for one another...or we can allow this place to just become another Forum where everything boils down to a SHOUTING MATCH between different Political and Religious Ideologies.

I SEE NO REASON WHY PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT IDEOLOGIES CANNOT HAVE A RESPECTFUL AND HONORABLE DEBATE WITHOUT RESORTING TO FALSEHOODS AND ANGER.

So...if I might ask...could I impose on you to keep up the pressure on this issue if and when I have to leave if of course this issue is not settled by then?

If your answer is no...I will understand and there is no dishonor in saying no.

Jesus claimed that he was only sent to the Jews. So who was Paul to change his mission?

Jesus told his Apostles that they would sit on thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel. He didn't say squat about any Gentiles being there.

In the last days the Gentiles will romp around the outer courtyard of the temple for a limited time but they wont ever get in. So how will they get into the golden cube, which is called New Jerusalem, indicating that it's just for the Jews?

David may have been good when he was a boy but after he became a man he turned into a real scumbag. He wasn't the best guy for a good holy man to come from. The only character in the Old Testament worth anything was Job.

BTW, there's nothing in the New Testament to suggests that Jesus loves everyone. He called Gentiles swine and dogs. He spoke in parables so that no one could understand him. Even his Apostles got ticked off at him for that habit. He cursed entire towns with hell fire because the people refused to believe him. And when he returns he will kill all life and destroy the world. He really isn't a nice guy, unless you're in his clique.

First of all let me point out to you that Satan attacks everyone non-believers as well as believers, thus no one is exempt. Satan has a certain amount of freedom that God allows, but this should be understood that is is Satan's choice to attack God's children.

We read in Scripture, "Be on your guard and stay awake. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack."---1 Peter 5:8 CEV

It was never in God's original design for humanity, i.e. Adam and Eve, to suffer attacks from Satan. But when Adam & Eve disobeyed God, humanity was subject to the consequences of sin, one of which is being open to attacks from Satan. It is part of our fallen nature. It is really our own fault for opening the door to satanic attacks, therefore God can't be blamed that we are vulnerable to satanic attacks.

The difference between believers and non-believers is that we believers have acknowledged that there is such a thing as satanic attacks. Attacks from Satan, along with all other tribulations that will cause us believers to love God more, resist Satan more, practice patience, resist temptation, and grow stronger in our faith in many other ways.

But in the non-believers worldview they just accept all the miseries they go through as just something that is normal and what happens...happens, nothing they can do about it. They have no one to turn to, since they don't believe in God, to them it's just the way it is.

And so now they become more vulnerable to satanic attacks...easy prey so to speak. They are in essence allowing Satan to blind them even more. Anything to do with the Bible and God these non-believers will just scoff off as being ridiculous...nonsense. To them the notion of sin is ridiculous and so they live their lives as they see fit. In their view everything they have done in their lives, they won't be held accountable to anyone for them after they're dead and gone.

We believers have made it aware to them about the consequences of not believing in God, of rejecting Jesus Christ as their Lord Savior but yet they stubbornly refuse to accept the truth. So all along it was their choice, not to believe, not to believe there is a hell for non-believers.

So the day you non-believers find yourselves in hell it was your choice to be there. You chose not to go to heaven, not to believe in God and so you can't say God is a sadist, for He didn't send you to hell, or you can't blame the devil for blinding you, we believers told about the devil but you scoffed it off as being nonsense and so essentially you all sent yourselves there, so you all must be sadomasochists and if you're not, then get your minds geared in the right direction, ask God to help you find Him.

Below are a few quotes from Scripture:

    Deuteronomy 4:29 ESV

But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.

    Proverbs 8:17 ESV

I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.

    Matthew 7:7-8 ESV

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

    Jeremiah 29:13 ESV

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

    Hebrews 11:6 ESV

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

True knowledge not from me for I am just a student but true knowledge through the Holy Spirit.

This is the historical back ground of the great ape or ape term.
    https://theconversation.com/the-ape-insult-a-short-history-of-a-racist-idea-14808

Gregor Mendel demonstrated that the inheritance of certain traits in pea plants follows particular patterns and was posthumously recognised as the founder of the new science of genetics.

In the early 20th century, the increasing popularity of Mendelian genetics (named after Gregor Johann Mendel, 1822-1884) did nothing to depose this way of thinking. If anything, it made things worse.

It suggested that the races had become separate species, and that Africans, in particular, were far closer in evolutionary terms to the great apes than were, say, Europeans.

And yet, during the same period, there was always a stream of evolutionary science that rejected this model. It emphasised the deep similarities between different races, and that differences in behaviour were the product of culture not biology.

The horrors of Nazism put paid to mainstream science’s dalliance with biological racism. Adolf Hitler’s genocide, willingly supported by German scientists and doctors, showed where the misapplication of science might end up.

In the 18th century, a new way of thinking about species emerged. Previously the vast majority of Europeans believed that God had created species (including man), and these species were immutable.

Many believed in the unity of the human species, but some thought that God had created separate human species. In this schema, white Europeans were described as closest to the angels, while black Africans and Aborigines were closest to the apes.

Many 18th-century scientists tried to undermine the creationist model. But, in so doing, they gave more power to the ape insult.

In the mid-1700s, the great French naturalist, mathematician and cosmologist Comte de Buffon (Georges-Louis Leclerc, 1707-178 put forward the idea that all species of animal were descended from a small number of spontaneously-generated types.

In this view, humans didn’t share a common ancestry with apes; they were directly descended from them. And Africans then became the link between monkeys and Europeans. The popular image commonly associated with Darwinian evolution of the staged transformation of ape into man should more properly be called Lamarckian.

Each of these ways of thinking about the relationship between humans and monkeys reinforced the connection made by Europeans between Africans and apes. And by making it seem as if people of a non-European origin were more like apes than humans, these different theories were used to justify plantation slavery in the Americas and colonialism through the rest of the world.

All of these different scientific and religious theories worked in the same direction – to reinforce the European right to control large swathes of the world.

"The horrors of Nazism put paid to mainstream science’s dalliance with biological racism. Adolf Hitler’s genocide, willingly supported by German scientists and doctors, showed where the misapplication of science might end up"

This is one of the very reason why the proper and correct term should be use in describing human evolution that humans did not evolved from apes.
Just like the "N" word is no longer use to address African-Americans.

Everyone on the planet was a sinner, men and women, except for babies and children not of culpable/accountable age. Nevertheless because of the grave sins of the adults, babies, children, animals were all caught up in the punishment.

When God punishes evil, He has every moral justification to punish His evil, sinful, wicked creations in a world gone wrong. God did not take pleasure in punishing these people in a world gone wrong.

If the world had not gone wrong God would not have punished these people. God being omniscient knew the vast extent of this wickedness among the people.

So the outrageous acts of evil was not committed by God, but it was committed by the people in a world gone wrong, thus God had to punish them all except 8 humans and pairs of male/female animals.
