The passage is very clear, as are the many other passages I quoted where Jesus speaks of how to get into the kingdom of heaven. There is no misinterpretation and your lack of acceptance of the truth is clear.

The passage does not say that the man lied but it would make no difference. The bottom line is that Jesus clearly states to works are the way to eternal life.

He repeats this in the sermon on the mount and the sheep and goats parable.

As stated previously, it is passages like this that are the reason why the majority of Christianity does not accept (salvation by faith alone).

You can believe what you wish but the Bible says what the Bible says.

Sticking your head in the sand and calling everything in the Bible that you disagree with a "misinterpretation", while not providing any evidence that it is a misinterpretation is the type of abject denial common among brainwashed fundamentalists.

You can make up as many nonsense story you like but that does not change the fact that Jesus says what he says.

Making up a story does not change, nor explain the words of Jesus.

What part of "you must obey Gods commands better than the Pharisees do you not understand ?" Jesus did not think much of the Pharisees so this was not very difficult.

Jesus never suggests that people need to be sinless to get into heaven. The whole point of forgiveness was such that people could sin and still make it through the pearly gates.

Jesus states that any sin can be forgiven, a sin against the father and a sin against the son. The only sin that can not be forgiven is a sin against the holy spirit.

Quit posting nonsense from Evangelical websites from people who have no credentials and have no clue. This is heretical BS.

There is nothing in your post that explains away what Jesus says or shows that Sola Fide is valid in any way shape or form.

Posting Pauline nonsense, a dude that never met Jesus, does not supersede what Jesus says. Stop this madness. That Paul contradicts Jesus is the whole point.

Yes, another misinterpretation by you. Clearly the passage is not talking about an abortion. Pregnancy is nowhere mentioned, or even hinted at, in the text. The only thing that even sounds like pregnancy is the guilty wife’s stomach becoming bloated, but even in that instance, it has nothing to do with pregnancy. Further, the passage does not say that drinking the concoction would cause an abortion/miscarriage. While drinking a poisonous mixture of ingredients could very well cause a miscarriage, that is not what this text is speaking of.

If a wife was found guilty, the punishment was death (Leviticus 20:10). If the wife was found innocent, she would be "cleared of guilt" and "able to have children" (Numbers 11: 28). So, again, Numbers 5:11-31 does not refer to abortion in any sense. Rather, it is describing a method that God allowed to be used to determine if a wife had committed adultery against her husband.

    Correction: Numbers 11:28

Finally you have said one thing that makes sense = accurately states what is stated in the passage. And yes, this contradicts Paul.

Denials I see...lol What else can be expected from my non-believing friends...lol

    - - - Updated - - -

Do you have a comprehension problem?...it appears so. That statement is for people who never heard of Jesus, they will be judged by their works, all others who have heard of Jesus, what He represents will have to accept Him as their Lord Savior...is it getting through or what?

I never stated that having faith means one is free to sin. If you have faith in the message of Jesus, and actually read what Jesus says and try to understand the message of Jesus, then you would realize in a second that Jesus states that salvation is based on works.

Now you are contradicting Paul. Read Romans sometime. The Jews who were not Judeo Christians rejected Jesus and Paul says they will be Judged on the basis of the Law. The Gentiles will also be Judged by the law.

As usual you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.

    .

The "Good news" that Jesus preached was forgiveness. Sinning from time to time does not necessarily condemn one to hell.

You really nee to find another source than that nonsense fundamentalist website you worship. When a woman has sex she gets pregnant, the potion that is prescribed along with the curse - is to cause an abortion.

I agree that this is a bit of a tough passage, especially for those with no objectivity.

What is clear, is that God ordered the death of pregnant women when he commanded the Israelites to kill all women and Children in various towns.

Yes, He certainly did order killings, those killings were justified. God had every moral justification to punish those people for the sinful depraved society that they were.

And no, God wasn't performing abortions on those women...another misinterpretation by you!

Now you are accusing me of what you are doing. Another characteristic of brainwashed fundamentalists.

You have been given passages that clearly state that works is a requirement to get into heaven and posted zero that changes these words.

The words are clear and there is no misinterpretation of what Jesus says. You are in denial and that is that.

You do not give a hoot about the Bible. Your God is Fundamentalist Dogma .. that much is clear

God did not perform the abortion nor the killing, he instructed the Israelites to do the killing.

Since when does killing a pregnant woman not cause an abortion ? Do you think God is so stupid that he does not realize that killing a pregnant woman also kills the fetus or ...

Is your God a stupid God ?

You have to stop misinterpreting Scripture, that is your problem. Having sex is not automatic for women to get pregnant. You read something then you falsely make up things. Try just reading what the context says, and don't fill in any false beliefs.

If God was dictating abortions, He would have flat out told us in Scripture. I see no such evidence as I read Scripture because I comprehend what I read correctly.

Belief in what ? Fundamentalist Dogma ? If you want to worship fundamentalist dogma over what is stated in the Bible that is your choice.

A certain percentage of the women of course would get pregnant... hence the reason for the abortion drink. Regardless, I already stated this was a tough passage so drop it.

Clearly when God ordered the Israelites to kill all women and children in various towns there would have been some pregnant women killed. God did not have any problem with these abortions.

Don't you really mean you don't know what the will of God is? It's because you misinterpret Scripture a whole lot that's why.

Stop adding to what you read...if it is not written in Scripture then don't make up stuff by your misinterpretations.

What are you talking about ? It is you that is trying to change what is written in scripture.

I am going by what is written. It is you that worships fundamentalist doctrine and can not deal with the fact that the Bible does not support that doctrine and so you make up stories to try and deny what is written.

Still waiting for your response to what Paul wrote in Romans. Another example of you ignoring your errors.

That is not the reason cd. That verse was not a declaration by Paul. He rebuked that verse in verse 36 of that passage. On pg. 16 #157 of this thread the verse is explained. Click on link below to read explanation.

    [/QUOTE]

Before I reply to any of your other statements TRY TO GET THIS THROUGH YOUR SKULL....HUMAN'S ARE APES!!!!!!!

The very definition of an APE and in particular the GREAT APES OR Hominidae consists of orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos and HUMANS.

This is not some ideology or faith or religion.....a HUMAN BEING IS IN FACT AN APE....it is like saying a T-Rex and Triceratops were both DINOSAURS!!!

MY GOD why can't you understand this!!!?????

Now you said this..."A spirit will have concern over eternal life of joy or pain."...end quote.

Joy and Pain are biologically created as the feeling of Pain is perceived in the mind and directed by the Human Nervous System as a warning physical damage to the body has occurred.

The feeling of JOY is perceived in the brain due to a release of endorphin's which give a person a feeling of euphoria.

Such feelings of Pain and Joy are either results of physical or mental events but BOTH are just MENTAL PERCEPTIONS driven by BIOCHEMICAL REACTIONS.

When I started talking about the incredible vastness of this Universe and all it's Galaxies, Stars and Planets and how I inferred about the enormous amounts and numbers of both life and intelligent life you replied...."So far no life has been discover yet."

Really? And exactly how do you know this for certain? This is all I will and can say anymore concerning this issue.

You did not understand my reference to Human evolution on another planet which would cause a different form of Humanity to exist AT ALL....so I won't even bother to comment.

You know what I worry about? I worry that people will STOP THINKING....and they will become content to believe anything someone has told them and indoctrinated them into over time or that people will just believe whatever is written in some BOOK that other people without having even the TINIEST bit of proof to back up what is stated in that book....will convince others...THIS IS THE TRUTH!!!

As I have stated many times here there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between a TRUTH and a FACT.

    A TRUTH is subjective.

    A FACT IS A FACT.

Paul told others to be silent when praying and prophesying. And do it in a certain order if more than one needs/wants to speak. Never says be silent and take your questions or ideas home and remain subservient. Only directs those conditions to women.

    - - - Updated - - -

Yes. That is what he said. And he's not the only christian in the forum to say it is ok to kill if God orders it.
Some even think it's ok if God tells them today. IE voices in one's head.

Oh, you had a spiritual experience. I suspected as much from your unique combination of Agnosticism and knowledge of Physics; and I, sometimes, also know beforehand, somehow. Do you want to talk about it? What it was like?

About Human Spirit... Why do you cling onto the idea of a Human Spirit? The electrical impulses in our brain are part of its natural evolution and function, even if a Spirit also interacts with the impulses.

(Also, regarding Paranormal investigators, a little ball of light wants you to know not to be an energy hog! Giving energy to the environment is just as important as, and sometimes superior to, taking energy away from the environment.) :blankstare: Instead think of it like an object trying to stabilize itself in the natural ebbs and flows of the environment. Too much power is like a ship sinking from too much weight. Too little energy is like a hot air balloon unable to rise without hot air lift in its canvas dome. The direction (of give or take) of energy flow changes by the moment. Don't believe this example, though, it's mostly a baseless comparison born from ignorance.

I see you're also sidetracked by the limiting idea of dead people existing as Spirits only after death. Shouldn't you link afterlife and spirit stuff to your understanding of concurrent time.

Any connections to a Spirit should happen before, during, and after your Human life. Hey, if you're going to say things, I'm going to say things too. But I can't help you with this. I can't even help myself.
