No Christian can answer your questions to YOUR satisfaction because you do not seek true knowledge. You hate us because we follow Christ... as Christ predicted long ago.

OMG .. Todd - Major Log out of own eye moment .. for it is you who does not seek true knowledge .. running from "tough questions" with Brother Mitt .. still waiting for you to tell us the name of the God of Jesus .. the God of the Priestly Order of Melchi-Zedek - of which Jesus is a member.

"You hate us because we follow Christ" -- What is this forked tongue ? I have urged you teachings of Christ - yet time after time you have run from these teachings .. following Brother Mitt .. in to the loving arms of the man made dogma of snake charmers .. trying to supplant the teachings of Lord Jesus .. with the teachings of Idol Martin .. the "bad fruit" that needs be cast into the fire you substitute for the teachings of Lord Jesus .. exactly as Christ Predicted long ago

For as we read in Scripture

15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

"Only the one who does the will of the Father who is in Heaven" but you don't know who "The Father" is .. don't know the name .. nor the identity of the Father .. nor follow the commands of the Father .. some of which were revealed to us through our lord and savior Jesus Christ.. but you don't know what these commands are .. so how can you claim to follow them .. You do not know the Father .. how then can you claim to be a follower of Christ.

What part of the quote from Jesus above that I have quoted to you many many times .. are you yet to understand .. and if you have sought the Truth .. corrected the error of your Path . and are a true follower of Christ .. and thus the commands of "The Father" .. then tell us here and now .. what Jesus is referring to as "The will of the Father" -- as outlined in his most famous sermon on the mount Matt 5-7.
    ...
    ... Join the club
to the one with forked tongue .. projecting disbelief of scripture onto others .. leading astray the lost sheep off the path of righteousness and Justice .. down into the depths of blasphemy.

What is the Hallowed name of The Father Brother Mitt .. and now is your chance to tell us what the Will of the Father is according to Lord Jesus - Matt 5-7

    1. I don't hate anyone.
    2. NEITHER YOU OR MITT HAVE TRIED TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS IN CASE YOU FIND I'M RIGHT. Tell me WHY I'm wrong. Not just because you don't want to believe me. Why did Mary go the Bethlehem when the Roman census didn't require her - or Joseph - to go. The Jews expected her to stay at home and miss any festival if it meant travelling as she was 9 months pregnant and it was a 4 day joureney on foot, camping at the roadside at night. The baby could have been born on the journey. This also applied to weaning mothers. The precedent was set centuries before with the birth of Samuel.1 Samuel 1:19-24. Why did Matthew use Hosea11:1 to send Joseph and Family to Egypt because he had been taught that Israel were in Egypt. Then in his genealogy he misses that out with a continuous and wrong genealogy. And why does Martthew send the family to Egypt for about 2 years while Luke sends them home after Marys cleansing period and Jesus being presented at the Temple - about 40 days. Luke tells us he was there till he was grown up.
You simply believe everything you are told. You have no idea of the times and conditions when the Bible was written or of how that affects the Bible.

I have responded to numerous questions/comments of yours but whatever questions/comments I may have not responded to it could be because they were incoherent in presentation, or simply just not answerable. There are numerous of questions that people have asked that just can't be answered by us mere mortals.

Your comment above is one I have responded to and so now you are exposed as being intellectually dishonest for I have responded to this a while back. It's all related to this Hosea 11:1 that you have an issue with.

Matter of fact this will be the 3rd time now you are bringing this up and so now I'm going to respond for the 3rd time and will give you the same answer again by presenting those past posts again. The 1st time I answered was on March 26, 2021, then the 2nd time on Jan 22, 2023 and now on this date today July 3, 2024 will be the 3rd time.

Just because you didn't like the answer/response I had given you doesn't mean I haven't answered, it's your problem you can't accept the Biblical truth I had given you...and you're going to get it again and this will be the last time I'm doing this. I keep telling you guys to keep track by taking notes so you won't ask the same questions or make the same comments over and over again...capiche?

So below are those past posts regarding this issue you have as it pertains to Hosea 11:1.

Ok thanks trev for your post, you've been in denial twice and now I won't be surprised if this will be the 3rd time but as I've said earlier next time you pose the same question/comment regarding Hosea 11:1, I will just inform you that I've answered it or might just refer to the page and # number where you can find my answer/response.

IOW Jesus was executed by the Romans to stop another potential uprising against the Roman occupation and the consequent destruction of the Jewish Nation (John 11:49-50). Which is why the Romans mocked the donkey rider as the "King of the Jews", and why his mates denied knowing him to avoid being also executed by the Romans as potential threats (John 18:15-27).

Seems made up .. where is the Josephus passage ? you made an inference ..on a citation that doesn't exist .. now claiming some uprising posting reference to John without citing the passage ? and if one goes to that passage it likely says nothing about Romans crucifying Jesus for the reasons you claim

The Romans executed the donkey riding "King of the Jews" as a potential threat by inciting another uprising to the Roman occupation. Which is why the Jewish authorities decided to make the donkey rider a scape goat to avoid the destruction of the Jewish nation and thousands of Jews being executed again.

    John 11:47-50
47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin. “What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many signs. 48 If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our temple and our nation.”
49 Then one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up, “You know nothing at all! 50 You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.”

That is why the Pharisees and Jewish Leaders wanted him killed.. but that doesn't mean that is why the Romans killed him .. but I told you already .. even if that was part of it .. the other part was claiming to be the anointed one of God .. and that be Caesars position.

So why did the Romans execute him and mock him as the "King of the Jews" if it wasn't because of a potential threat to their occupation from another Jewish uprising?
And where does the bible say that the Romans executed the "King of the Jews" for claiming to be "the anointed one of God"?
And where does the bible say that the donkey rider claimed to be "the anointed one of God", and why would that be relevant to the Romans anyway?

Even in my former secular life, having no knowledge or God, the concept of a God seemed fitting and not absurd. And so, being ignorant, I never presumed to mock the concept. I chose instead to not engage the matter. It is alarming to hear others mock God as if in so doing, it would absolve themselves of accountability, when to my reasoning it lends itself to a more poignant accounting, should that eventuality occur. Who are men who live and die and essentially have no control or say in the matter, to mock an eternal and perfect God. It's highly reckless, bordering on the wicked toward destruction. It seems to me that such people have little to no regard for anything lovely, virtuous, or praiseworthy.

Are you trying to rewrite what's written in Scripture to deny what Almighty God has already revealed to us?...that's so ludicrous! I, myself will stick to what's written in Scripture...I mean after all, "All Scripture is inspired by God" (2 Timothy 3:16).

What comes out of your mouth is inspired by the father of all lies the devil himself. That long winding post of yours #1566 (and others) on this thread spewing nothing but opinions/speculations/guesswork in an attempt to explain to us what actually happened or what couldn't have happened is simply so ridiculous as if you were there to witness everything regarding events that happened a little over 2000 or so years ago...again is simply so ridiculous! You think you're omniscient or something?...lol

But anyway, Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem because it was prophesied in the OT in Micah 5:2 and 2 Samuel 5:2 that Jesus will be born in Bethlehem. Yes, that's right trev... "prophecy"...a word you have great disdain for.

    We Read in Scripture:

4 He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?”

5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they said, “for this is what the prophet wrote:

6 ‘And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah, are not least among the ruling cities[a] of Judah, for a ruler will come from you who will be the shepherd for my people Israel. Matthew 2:4-6 NLT

    Footnotes

    a. 2:6a Greek the rulers.
    b. 2:6b Mic 5:2; 2 Sam 5:2

Furthermore, Scripture also tells us that Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem because when the time came for Mary to give birth, Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus decreed that a census be taken. The law required every citizen to return to his or her hometown to register. Joseph went with Mary to Bethlehem because he belonged to the house and line of David.

    We Read in Scripture:

    The Birth of Jesus

2 At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. 2 (This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census. 4 And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. Luke 2:1-4 NLT

So this blows your statement out of the water trev because Scripture tells us there was a need for Joseph and Mary to go to Bethlehem it was to satisfy Roman law regarding a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire and Scripture explains why Joseph had to go to Bethlehem in Judea.

Then we have another fulfillment of prophecy from the OT in Jeremiah 31:15. The murderous King Herod was plotting to kill the newborn king, ordered the murder of all male babies two years old and younger in and surrounding Bethlehem.

    We Read in Scripture:

16 Herod was furious when he realized that the wise men had outwitted him. He sent soldiers to kill all the boys in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, based on the wise men’s report of the star’s first appearance. 17 Herod’s brutal action fulfilled what God had spoken through the prophet Jeremiah:

18 “A cry was heard in Ramah—weeping and great mourning. Rachel weeps for her children, refusing to be comforted, for they are dead.”[a] Matthew 2:16-18 NLT

    Footnotes

    a. 2:18 Jer 31:15.

Ok thanks trev for your post.

Hosea 11:1 also refers to - or is a prophecy - of Jesus then the rest of the chapter must apply. You can't take, like most of the so-called prophecies - on verse out of a contexte without making a mockery of the whole Bible.
That makes no sense at all. The Roman empire cosisted of most of Europe All the North African coastr, Asia minor, Egypt and the Middle East. An impossible task in those days when Germanic tribes and North African tribes were moving about all the time.
Now lets say It just applied the the Middle East. David had 20 sons we know about. According to the Bible he had been dead 900 yearsGiven that he, again according to the Bible, had 20 sons. At 30 years per generation - Biblical generation based on th eJewish Prime of life at 30 years. (40 years in the Bible means 'a long' time'. Given the large families that they had in those days we are talking above 100,000 families - including children and wives. These were not just in Palestine but spread through the Middle East as far as Rome, North Africa - where Marks family originated - Egypt, Asia minor etc. You really think the Romans required these to return to Bethlehem. On top of that the other families in Palestine were also widespread and their families would have had to travel from all over. The Middle East would have been in chaos. Not a word of it in history. The headlines would have read 'the Middle East in turmoil'. The Romans did not require anyone to go to their ancestral home. They stayed where they were. The census was on property and Josephs was in Nazareth. The very idea that after 900 years of wars between tribes, 3 invasions, exile and the chaos of the Hasmonean Kingdom that anyone of Davids era still had property in Bethlehem is laughable. Archaeologist in Egypt actually found a buried notice which would have been put on a village/town wall. It was during a Roman census later (Rome ruled Egypt) which told people to stay at home.
Another twisted interpretation Jeremiah 31:15. Nothing to do with King Herod. You really are muddled up.
There was a website some years ago that showed just how ridiculous these 300 prophecies were. Most are just verses taken out of context. And I agreed with it. These were/are just desparate attempts by Christianity to establish itself.

Roman Law did not demand that as I have already shown you...So that blows your statement out of the water. Roman Law required people to stay at home. Again Scripture is proved wrong, whether you like it or not. The house and lineage of David had nothing to do with the Romans.

Why is it that Matthew send Jesus to Egypt and for about 2 years and yet Luke sends him home to Nazareth after Jewish customs were accomplished. This was the circumcision of Jesus on the 8th day (Brit Milah) and the completion of Mary's cleansing - 40 days.So they were home 6 weeks after Jesus birth and stays there until he was 12.

Forget what the Bible says. Forget what GotQuestions say. Look at the real world of the time before your indoctrination is complete and you can't think for yourself.

But why did they need to travel over 100 km from Nazareth to Jerusalem, and do you have any actual evidence to support your claim? And did they go by train or did they ride donkeys?
Or did they use Shank's pony, and if so, did Joseph carry her from Nazareth to Jerusalem?
And did Jesus' biological father (Luke 3:23) also travel from Nazareth to Jerusalem?

Or is the story about Jesus's conception and birth just an imaginative fantasy, given the story was written over 70 years after Jesus was born, and long after his parents had died?

how many times need you be told that it was because of an uprising .. in part .. such that you do not say really nonsensical strawman fallacy things .. insisting I stated that uprising was not a potential threat.

I told you "anointed one of God" - what part of "King of the Jews" .. is not clear to you .. like it was to the Romans ? and then I read .. OMG .. do you really not know that "Messiah" = Anointed one of God.

Let me tell you a little secret .. Page 1 of the NT Bible .. OK how about Verse 1.. on Page 1 of the NT--

1.) The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God,
Mark 1 NIV - John the Baptist Prepares the Way - The - Bible Gateway

and if you click on the Footnote for Messiah - Or Jesus Christ. Messiah (Hebrew) and Christ (Greek) both mean Anointed One.

So what is your actual evidence to support your claim that the donkey riding "King of the Jews" was executed by the Romans for being "anointed one of God", and not to avoid a potential threat to the Roman occupation through inciting another Jewish uprising (John 11:48-50) as occurred when the donkey rider was born in 4 BC and about 30 years after the donkey rider was executed?

And Herod Antipas was the "anointed one of God" since he was the actual "King of the Jews" and not the donkey rider.

Caesar ! now there is one you left out anointed above our friend Herod .. why so much trouble understanding the first line .. of the first page of the Book friend ... never mind be running around crying "Where he say dat" .. then trying to pretend you know what it all means .. like a "donkey riding a dancing banana" .. Your words / symbology from the potty mouth land of scatology .. not mine.

Do you know who the Donkey is Brother Mitti .. and don't you think she looks pretty :) ..

But what is your actual evidence that Joseph and his very pregnant wife traveled over 100 km from Nazareth to Jerusalem so that she could give birth?
