It is not my timeline Mitt ? I am using your sources and information ... and accept that the dating range for Abe is ~ 1800-2000BC and it matters not +/- a hundred years - what kind of ridiculous nonsense would it be to think one could pinpoint the exact date .. this is simply not how science / archaeology / History works

Creationists put Abe~ 1800 - 2000 BC - Even your favorite Snake Charmer sites will tell you this .. but now you say We have no idea when the Great flood took place .. but claim to be a Bible Believer ? Now the Bible states Abe was born ~300 years after the flood.

Either you believe the Bible or you don't Mitt .. if you do this puts the flood ~ 2100-2300 BC .. and in deed we can made affirmative statements such as there was no obliteration of Everything by Global Flood during this period .. as evidenced by continuous culture .. in many places.

In short Mitt .. we know the history of the world throughout that time period.. there is no "everything stops" .. and then resumes later in every civilization we know through that time period.. Sorry Mitt .. there was no Global Flood 2100-2300 BC .. nor was there any Global flood at any time 10,000 years to present. .. Simply didn't happen Mitt .. and the flood story itself was created from previous myth .. the story needed a beginning .. and that is how you begin the story ... with some kind of Creation drama. That's how it works Mitt ..

The creation story was handed down over thousands of years .. dating back long before Noah supposedly parked the Boat in 2300 BC .. Now there was an event .. which people who survived in a boat could well have believed covered the entire earth as they knew it ~ 5000 BC .. a massive local flood in the Mesopotamia

The bible, however, clearly says that the flood which drowned most of Noah's family (Gen 5:26-31) and their sheep and goats was just a local event, since it was only 15 cubits high (Gen7:20) and drained away like every other similar flood before and since (Gen 8:13-14). Which is why it had no effect on an olive tree from which Noah's pet bird plucked a leaf since the olive tree was growing outside the flooded area (Gen 8:11). And why the flood had no effect on Noah's brothers (Jabal & Jubal) since they are the fathers of all nomadic herders and players of stringed instruments and pipes, and were living outside the flooded area (Gen 4:20-21), whereas Noah only built a boat. Or so the story goes.
And why the flood had no effect on kangaroos and sloths etc since they are not native to the middle east. And why the flood had no effect on our aborigines since they arrived here over 50,000 years before Adam's grandmother was born.

So why were most of Noah's family so naughty, and were drowned and never saved, including Noah's grandparents (Gen 5:27) and Noah's widowed mother (Gen 5:31) and Noah's aunts & uncles & cousins (Gen 5:26) and most of Noah's brothers and sisters (Gen 5:30) and Noah's other children and grandchildren born before and after his sister Naamah gave birth to Shem & Ham & Japheth at aged 500 years old (Gen 5:32)?
    Or so the story goes.

The interesting thing about the Biblical flood is that the waters underground rose to the surface and helped to flood the earth. Of course this is impossible due to gravity, but supposing they did, they must have subsided back into the earth to form todays underground lakes. Having mixed with sea water why are todays lakes fresh water with no salinity?

You should talk...lol If there's anybody not knowing anything that has been inconsistent it's you. There are over 300 Messianic prophesies in the OT, most of which have been fulfilled in the NT, yet you deny them all. So essentially you are misinterpreting Scripture over 300 times and that's not counting the numerous other times you have misinterpreted Scripture throughout the Bible aside from these prophecies...my my for a guy who thinks he's an expert knows it all but really doesn't it's really so sad. You're living in an unrealistic world and it's just a matter of time before you will be doomed along with others who are in the same boat as you unless you all change your tune and come into the light out from the darkness.

Below are past quotes from you that illustrates your inconsistency.

On Jan 19, 2023, you are quoted saying:

Then on March 28, 2023, you are quoted saying:

Then on March 30, 2023, you are quoted saying:

Ok thanks trev for your post. For your own sake get out of the darkness and come into the light.

Repeats, repeats. I don't even know the context from your quotes are taken.

    How do you explain these

The interesting thing about the Biblical flood is that the waters underground rose to the surface and helped to flood the earth. Of course this is impossible due to gravity, but supposing they did, they must have subsided back into the earth to form todays underground lakes. Having mixed with sea water why are todays lakes fresh water with no salinity?

History is quite clear that civilisations go back way before any Noahs flood.

    • My interpretation of the Bible is far better than yours. You have no idea of the ancient times, the ridiculous statements in the Bible that have been disproved time and again. I suggest you talk with an observant Jew for whom the OT was written.

Where is the benchmark, or book of remembrance spanning four thousand years BC according to Jews who lived it, establishing or stating otherwise than that preserved by other Jews which were compiled into the Bible. Where is this ancient truth to which modern man can say the Bible is contradictory by comparison?

The reason I am inclined to believe the scriptures is because they were kept by those who either experienced or were far nearer the events of which they wrote, than the measure of modern man and science in retrospect regarding matters of which we have no first hand experience.

Please read all my posts. I have stated time and again there are no prophecies in the OT.

I think you are simply misleading. Thinking about it was the discussion about prophecies of Jesus in the OT? To which I would have replied 'there are no prophecies in the Bible.
2 months later ?on the same subject I would have pointed out any socalled prophecies are fulfilled in the OT. Nothing spills over into the NT.
2 days later I repeat what I said 'there are no prophecies in the OT.

In any case you have simply ignored many of my posts or quoted your favourite sites.

Most ot the OT is made up stories or adapted from earlier stories. A mythical story from Abraham to the Exodus. A story made up, Job, similar to the Sumerian/Babylonian of 'why do the righteous suffer'. A story of 'Jonah' which disregards Jewish teaching and sends 'Jonah' on an impossible journey of around 900 miles across barren land and two great rivers. Clearly written after the fall of Nineveh. The book of Daniel with adventurous stories full of historical errors and 'prophecies' which are actually a relation of the Hasmonean history and not prophecy at all.

You need to understand the background to the OT - AS I'VE SAID BEFORE.

Isn't your view jaded to start? If you believe there is no God, then it stands to reason that there are no miracles or prophets in keeping with the baseline of your foregone conclusion. With that in mind, all that is said regarding God from the past thru your own lens, precludes any meaning other than grunts and whistles. With that, you find what you seek which is a book of fables and superstitions, a Jewish glitter bomb. As an expert witness, that would place you in the category of one having a conflict of interest, which is to cover the truth with a blanket so as to glorify your own unbelief. Clearly the glitter bomb is of your own design in contradiction to the written word. Eventually the Jews did to the Savior that which they had brought upon themselves, time and again, by their own misbehaving's over four thousand years. Only he had done no wrong. Their own scriptural history is a testimonial to this drama. They made the grave error of blaming God for the troubles they brought on themselves by leaving the covenant path. And he suffered it all. So why did God choose Abraham and his seed for an example rather than some gentile and his seed? Because Abraham kept Gods laws and statutes. So God covenanted with him and gave greater laws to him and his seed. That covenant brings greater responsibility and greater afflictions if not kept. So everyone else got to go on with their mischief, while the Jews were held to a higher calling. Otherwise we wouldn't have the Bible or salvation as it is. But it is, and that's reality.

I have no Glitterbomb or conflict of interest. I don't believe either Christian or Jewish Beliefs. I simply point out the difference in Mitts interpretation of the OT to that of the people to/for whom it was written. Most of the Bible is written by people with vested interests. Muxch ot it simply made up for those vested interests. The Pentatuech is an example. Adapted stories from earlier civilisations. The story of Abraham through to the Exodus which was written in the 7th century BCE while in Babylon to give them an origin. All this has been disproved. There is no evidence whatever. In fact, as I have pointed out time and again, the evidence is against these stories being true. Israel Finkelstein - Israeli archeaologist - has torn these stories to pieces by explaining why they can't be true - as I have. He goes into it in more detail. There are many things in the story that were not known, available or practised in the period of supposed Abraham to the supposed Exodus. Only to the writers in the 7th century - a 1000 years later knew about them. I've even explained some on here which you, Mitt and Todd can check for yourselves. That you choose not to is not my concern. You wish to remain in ignorance is no concern of mine. Show me where Ur was of the Chaldees in Abrahams time. Or how he bought land from Ephron at the age of about 400+ when the Hittites appear in history for the first time.
Their scriptural history - apart from the era of the Kings after the tribal leader David - if he actually existed - is made up. They were a tribe in Palestine from at least the 13th century BCE. No evidence they were ever in Egypt.

The nativity stories are also made up and contradictary. I have shown how and why. You all refuse to believe or comment how I am wrong. Jesus was simply a Jewish preacher probably born in Bethlehem 5 miles from Nazareth. As all Jewish children he was taught how to read and write and to learn the Tanakh daily as per Proverbs 22:6. Lessons started at 5 ansd continued to the age of 12 - adulthood. They boy was then presented at the Temple as an adult and tested on his understanding of the Tanakh. It is reported Jesus was very intelligent and could amaze the priests with his knowledge. Such a yout - now a man would be taken under the wing of a teacher - the term Rabbi came much later - and given 'further education' in the scriptures. This could last for a long time until he was able to converse with established teachers on the same level as themselves. He would then be considered a teacher. He was often referred to as teacher or Rabbi. Remember I said the term Rabbi came much later - probably after the fall of Jerusalem - so this indicates the Gospels were written much later.
A study of the OT against the teachings of Jesus shows just how much was adulterated by the Gospel writers for their own interests. He preached a softened version of what he believed - through his childhood indoctrination - was Moses law. His parables are taken from the aspect of Jewish bekief in their relationship with Jahweh. You will find many in the OT. The Good Shepherd, the Prodigal Son, the vineyard etc all are a reflection of their relationship with Jahweh. His testing in Matthew was in line with Jewish teaching as was his baptism. His following of Jewish Festivals and the Passover. The throwing out of the money changers (those who changed daily coinage into Temple money at an extortionate rate of interest) and the selling of pigeons at high prices). He was a Jewish preacher whose on problem was in upsetting the Jewish religious heirarchy and taking the people with him in exposing Pharasaic and Sadducean hypocrisy. The Pharisees were losing their grip on the people and the Saduccees were willing to befriend and trade with the Romans. Jesus was a danger to them. So they arranged to have him put to death by lying to Pilate. Even the Passover, trial and crucifixion stories are at odds with each other. The Jewish preacher died. Period
All religion is from the mind of men/women needing something to satisfy their lack of sufficiency in themselves. If you were satisfied with your life why would you need to believe in your 'experience'.

Sure maybe someone saw a geyser one day and figured water shoots up from the earth :) A Global flood 15,000 years ago would not negate fresh water lakes in this day in age .. especially if you factor in how the Glaciers shaped the lands .. so not the best disprover .

The simple fact that you can did down ~10 meters in Wyoming and every other inland place in the world .. and not find the flood layer .. tells us there was no global flood 2300BC .. nor 10,000 BC .. every driller in the world can tell you this - including myself having conducted environmental work for many years ... never saw no flood layer .. which would be super easy to find .. "Everywhere" -- but simply isn't there

What evidence do you have to support your claim that some of the biblical stories were written over 7000 years ago? And is that why there are so many biblical contradictions and inconsistencies and scientific untruths?

That's only the description of how the flood water on a riverine plain appears to rise up from the ground, which was 15 cubits in the bible story (Gen 7:20).

As there was no Great Flood of Noah the rest is irrelevant.

300 prophecies of Jesus from the OT? The list is pretty irrelevant as it is made up from imaginery people, imaginery events and stories. The Pentatuech is simply made up stories adapted from earlier ones, of Noah who never existed and flood that never happened, of the stories of Abraham through to the Exodus which are/is fictional. The story of a possible tribal leader named David whose story is impossibly exagerrated to give the Hebrews a hero. I suggest that is not the best background on which to base 'prophecy' of Jesus.
Science and our understanding of the ancient world revealed by archaeology etc. refutes much of the Pentatuech.

Archeaology does not prove the Bible right. Places and events used in their stories were known to the Hebrews and used as a background. Palestine was a 'meeting place' of cultures from East and West. Traders from the East would dock at Ur and use a trade trail to Palestne - until the port silted up. SAnd they used Eilat on the North coast of the Red Sea. In both cases the trails led into Palestine. That meant travellers would be in Palestine several days/weeks - they would be waiting and resting overnight. Then they would also have to wait for a ship at Tyre or Sidon that was going their way. No scheduled ships in those days. There woiuld be contact between the locals and the travellers. We know this trade existed by the Bible. and other means. Then there was trade with Asia Minor and Egypt with traders from North and South. The scribes in Babylon used this fact to send Jacobs son Joseph to Egypt by traders from the North going to Egypt.
The scribes in Babylon were not ignorant of the world. The Bible proves archeaology right.

Now that is a bold faced falsehood "running for the hills" coupled with projection .. and you know this is true Brother Mitt. The ways of the dark-side you have learned.

Your "bottom line" is also falsehood. The message from the flood was not that the God that punished also provided a way of salvation .. the God who sent the flood not the same as the God who provided salvation.

You have not the faintest idea about meaning of Biblical flood story - the "bottom line" being that you my friend are a complete waste of skin in the eyes of Flood God .. along with the rest of humanity - a mistake and annoyance which the Flood God decides to blot out from the face of the earth not worthy of redemption nor salvation.

Why do you try to supplant the God's word in the Bible with made up fables.. if not led by the hand of the dark side ?

Your opinion/belief is duly noted however I don't agree with you. I believe what our Creator Almighty God told us in Scripture in the book of Genesis.

    We Read in Scripture:

17 “Look! I am about to cover the earth with a flood that will destroy every living thing that breathes. Everything on earth will die. 18 But I will confirm my covenant with you. So enter the boat—you and your wife and your sons and their wives. 19 Bring a pair of every kind of animal—a male and a female—into the boat with you to keep them alive during the flood. 20 Pairs of every kind of bird, and every kind of animal, and every kind of small animal that scurries along the ground, will come to you to be kept alive. 21 And be sure to take on board enough food for your family and for all the animals.”

22 So Noah did everything exactly as God had commanded him. Genesis 6:17-22 NLT

Ok thanks trev for your post.

Just an imaginative story in a book about a river flood which was 15 cubits high and drowned most of Noah's family and their animals, but had no effect on an olive tree growing outside the flooded area. Genesis 8:11

We do not have exact dates but Genesis was likely the first book that was written and was completed around 1400 BC and so we're talking around 3,424 years ago when the first book was completed. The book of Revelation is considered the last book to be written and was completed around 90 AD so that's roughly a span of approx. 1,490 years between the first and last books it took to complete the entire Bible of 66 books.

So the Bible is around 3,424 years old if you go by when the first book of the Bible was completed but if you go by when the Bible was completed, it is around 1,934 years old.

That's really the opinions/beliefs the biased view of unbelievers, who are critics and deniers of the Bible. The Bible cannot err, since it is God's Word, and God cannot err. This does not mean there are no difficulties in the Bible. But the difficulties are not due to God's perfect revelation, but to our imperfect understanding of it. The history of Bible criticism reveals that the Bible has no errors, but the critics do.

If I am to come to Scripture and read a passage and ask, “Is that wrong?” I am revealing that I do not truly believe Scripture is without error. The proper approach, since it is God's infallible Word, is to ask, “Since this cannot be in error, how is my understanding in error?”

Again the bible is inerrant/infallible, the only way it becomes fallible is by the misinterpretations made by the critics.

Lord Jesus affirmed that "Scripture cannot be broken". As an infallible book, the Bible is also irrevocable.

    We Read in Scripture:

    Lord Jesus said,

35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be brokenJohn 10:35 ESV.

In regards to your statement that there are so many scientific untruths...quite the contrary. Matter of fact there are parts of the Bible that science has confirmed as being true. Let me present a few of them below.

    We Read in Scripture:

22 God sits above the circle of the earth. The people below seem like grasshoppers to him! He spreads out the heavens like a curtain and makes his tent from them. Isaiah 40:22 NLT

(Science has confirmed the shape of our planet as round. How could Isaiah who lived approx. 2700 years ago know this if not for God telling him this fact about the shape of our planet as being round)

5 Food is grown on the earth above, but down below, the earth is melted as by fire. Job 28:5 NLT

(Our planet's core is hot and this verse 5 in Job 28 mentions it. Again how could the author of the Book of Job have known this if not for God telling them about this fact approx. 4000 years ago or so)

7 God stretches the northern sky over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing. Job 26:7 NLT

(Earth indeed floats in space. God told the author of the Book of Job this fact approx. 4000 years ago or so)

7 Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. Ecclesiastes 1:7 NLT

(Water changes state, the water cycle, also known as the hydrologic cycle, is a well-known phenomenon)

6 The Lord’s home reaches up to the heavens, while its foundation is on the earth. He draws up water from the oceans and pours it down as rain on the land. The Lord is his name! Amos 9:6 NLT

(This verse in Amos also mentions water changes state)

27 He draws up the water vapor and then distills it into rain. 28 The rain pours down from the clouds, and everyone benefits. Job 36:27-28 NLT

(These verses in Job also mentions water changes state)

7 He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses. Psalm 135:7 NLT

(Another example here in Psalm 135:7 of water changes state)

14 “Build a large boat[a] from cypress wood and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior. 15 Make the boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.[c] 16 Leave an 18-inch opening[d] below the roof all the way around the boat. Put the door on the side, and build three decks inside the boat—lower, middle, and upper. Genesis 6:14-16 NLT

(According to geological evidence, the Great Flood of Noah might have actually happened. The ark would have worked, it turns out, the math is correct. According to calculations made by physics students at the University of Leicester in 2014, the ark would have actually floated and safely carried pairs of each animal species through the flood)

22 And as the stars of the sky cannot be counted and the sand on the seashore cannot be measured, so I will multiply the descendants of my servant David and the Levites who minister before me.” Jeremiah 33:22 NLT

(There are countless stars in the sky. Sure, we know that the universe has a lot of stars. And by a lot, we're talking about up to a trillion stars per galaxy. And it's estimated that there about 100 billion galaxies in the universe!)

41 The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their glory. 1 Corinthians 15:41 NLT

(Not all stars are created equal. The stars' brightness or magnitude varies)

Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ said,

35 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear. Matthew 24:35 NLT

(Celestial bodies don't last forever We now know that stars and other astronomical bodies die. Science has confirmed this, but the Bible also mentions it as we note here in Matt. 24:35)

3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. Hebrews 11:3 NLT

(The universe is made of invisible particles. It sounds like the Bible is talking about atoms. Protons, neutrons, and electrons on their own are invisible to the naked eye. Atoms make up pretty much everything, including us)

48 As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him. 49 Reaching into his shepherd’s bag and taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and Goliath stumbled and fell face down on the ground.

50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with only a sling and a stone, for he had no sword. 51 Then David ran over and pulled Goliath’s sword from its sheath. David used it to kill him and cut off his head. 1 Samuel 17:48-51 NLT

(A small boy defeating a giant might sound unlikely, but the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 says otherwise. David could have actually defeated Goliath. A slingshot might not be the most powerful weapon, but the stones from Elah Valley were made of barium sulphate, which is extremely dense and these would have easily hurt Goliath. But there's more. Being a giant, Goliath likely suffered from acromegaly (overproduction of growth hormone). This can cause problems with vision, and peripheral vision can be limited, which would have been handy for David)

6 You clothed the earth with floods of water, water that covered even the mountains. Psalm 104:6 NLT

(There are mountains underwater. These landforms are actually called seamounts, and are mentioned in the Bible here in Psalm 104:6)

11 for the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the Lord.[a] It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible. Leviticus 17:11 NLT

(Creatures can't live without blood. Most of us are familiar with the Adam and Eve story of the Bible. Humans have, in fact, a female biological ancestor called Mitochondrial Eve, which precedes our species (Homo sapiens). There is, however, one thing that connects all us living creatures: blood)

5 On the seventh day the priest will make another examination. If he finds the affected area has not changed and the problem has not spread on the skin, the priest will quarantine the person for seven more days. Leviticus 13:5 NLT

(Isolation contains diseases. While proper quarantines developed later in history, the Bible advised to isolate the affected person for 7 days and if the affected area has not changed to isolate/quarantine them for another 7 days)

28 If you pick up its carcass, you must wash your clothes, and you will remain defiled until evening. These animals are unclean for you. Leviticus 11:28 NLT

(Sanitizing is really important. The pandemic has made us all pros in sanitizing our hands and clothes in order to avoid spreading germs, but the Bible mentioned its importance a long time ago as we note here in Leviticus 11:2)

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 NLT

(Our brilliant scientist like physicist Albert Einstein theorized/concluded through his theory of relativity that the universe had a beginning and was not eternal as he had previously believed. His theory proved that the universe is not a cause, but instead one big effect—something brought it into existence. And of course Christians like myself believe it was Our Creator Almighty God who brought the universe and everything else that exists into existence.)

Oh and besides all these verses I presented above let me not forget all the many archaeological artifacts that authenticates the credibility of the Bible. A simple Google search will bring up all these archaeological artifact findings. One I find particularly fascinating is the Hittite Monuments From Boghazkoy...Mementos of an Imperial People.

There is no doubt that truly the Bible is an amazing book. The Bible is between 3,424 and 1,934 years old and has influenced many people and cultures all around the world. Its message is timeless, personal, and powerful because it comes from our Creator Almighty God! Only through divine inspiration could the Bible have been written so long ago, and over such a long period of time, and still be free of error and contradiction.

Ok thanks Mitty for your post.

IOW the bible describes the earth as a flat immovable disc, and describes the universe as a dome shape tent attached to the circle of the horizon. And the bible doesn't describe Earth as a rotating globe orbiting the Sun which is billions of years old.

So what. Volcanic eruptions have been observed by humans long before Adam's grandmother was a girl

IOW the bible describes the universe as a dome shaped tent attached to the immovable flat earth.

That's only the observation of the biblical writer and is not a scientific explanation.

Nothing in that about water changing state.

No it doesn't say anything about water changing state from solid to liquid to gas. It says a god magically draws up drops of liquid water which fall as rain. “He draws up the drops of water,
    which distill as rain to the streams;
28 the clouds pour down their moisture
and abundant showers fall on mankind.

Nothing in that about water changing state, but only describes how a god magically controls clouds and lightening and win and rain from his shed.

But is there any actual evidence that a 450 foot long boat was ever built, given that the bible says the river flood which drowned mosts of Noah's family was only 15 cubits high.

The bible, however, doesn't say that the universe is billions of years old since there are ~two trillion visible galaxies and the speed of light is ~300,000 km/second.

That's just a simple observation of the coloured lights on the dome-shaped tent attached to the earth's horizon ring.

Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ said,

IOW every jot and tittle of OT law still applies till heaven and earth pass, including the commandments to abort the pregnancies of adulteresses - Lev 20:10 Numbers 5:20-288).

Nothing in that about atoms and sub-atomic particles.

In the same way that anyone can be killed by a bullet.

Nothing in that about sea mounts, but only describes river floods.

IOW you can bleed to death. Nothing in the bible about mitochondria or chromosomes etc.

That 's just evolution of human thinking from observation and experience over thousands of years, and as still occurring from scientific research.

How many billions of years ago did the god create the universe, and have you ever seen a god like Abraham did when they shared a meal together - Genesis 18?

The bible is just a book written by men, for men, about men and their paternalistic society, and their history and laws and customs and mythologies.

The Bible, 100% accuracy, fulfilled prophecies. That is supernatural.

No, all it's saying is that the shape of our planet is round. How you interpret that verse to mean what you're saying is evidence of your poor comprehension, IOW you're misinterpreting what you're reading. You're saying things that are not being said, again basically all that verse is saying is that the shape of our planet is round, IOW it is not square shaped , it is not rectangular shaped, it is not triangular shaped...etc...which as we all know science has confirmed it is true!

Your lack of comprehension and misinterpretation doesn't change the fact that the bible clearly describes Earth as a flat disc (Isaiah 40:22, Job 11:9 Matt 4:8 Amos 9:6 Luke 4:5), given that the word "circle" refers to a two dimensional object and not a three dimensional object such as in the words "globe" "sphere" "ball" etc. And the word "circle" obviously refers to the circular horizon to which the tent-like heavens are attached as observed by the author of Isaiah 40:22, and similar to a child's snow dome. The bible also describes Earth as geocentric (Eccl 11:5 Psalm 93:1 96;10) with ends and corners (Job 38:13 37:3 28:24 Dan 4:11 Rev 7:1 Jer 16:9) and with immovable foundations (Psalm 104:5 93:1 96:10 Job 9:6 26:11). And the bible says that Jesus went to the centre of Earth and up to the tent-like heavens (Eph 4:8-10) before Jules Verne wrote his fantasy stories.
