I have found that to not be true. While some may adopt the thin belief in God at face value, and as you said, proclaim by way of reason that this or that thing must be Gods will. That in itself is the limited sphere in which they function, and not necessarily the whole truth. I know from personal experience that God is real, that he lives and is divine. We have all forgotten him. In Christianity there are essentially two voices. One in scriptures from thousands of years ago by those long gone. And another today by those parrot those ancient words. But I know of myself today that God lives. And I know this independent of scriptures or from those who parrot them. So my testimony isn't from hearing or reading. It is from Gods spirit.

    But it’s all mere belief.

You still don't understand a thing about the bible after all these years.

That's ok though, there has not been a human alive that knows anything about the bible.
They make up want the want to get out of it based on their own personal experiences.
That's why there's many many many different interpretations of it.
No one even knew what the 1st words in the bible are anymore.

Language has changed from 5000 yrs ago.

    Foul...strike one!

So, you find my posts too funny, well it's because your closed mind is incapable of grasping the seriousness of what I present to you. Open your mind up Gawd and allow rationale/reasonable statements to flow into your open mind, that's the remedy. After you do that, you won't find my posts funny anymore but serious in nature/presentation.

    Foul...strike two!

God does not have a religion for God is Almighty, Holy, Eternal, and totally self-sufficient. He does not need any created being to rely on, but we surely do need Him. All of creation is dependent on the life that God alone sustains.

    We Read in Scripture:

14 You cause grass to grow for the livestock
and plants for people to use.
You allow them to produce food from the earth— Psalm 104:14 NLT

God is not dependent on anyone or anything. If He needed anything to stay alive or to feel complete, then He would not be God.

But we Christians certainly do have a religion. It was God who reached out to us, to mankind and gave us His revelations that we can find in His Best-Selling Book of All-Time the Holy Bible.

So, through God's revelations are the basis for the Christian religion.

The Christian religion is not built upon the idea, the acceptance of people engaging in child sacrifice. You just admitted by what you said in that God does not accept child sacrifice, which is absolutely true, matter of fact He emphatically abhors it. So, it's contradicting to say God is against child sacrifice but yet His whole religion is built on it sacrificing a child. C'mon Gawd you're not making any sense, you're being contradictory.

Again, God does not have a religion, we Christians have a religion. And we believe that God accepts the Christian religion as being the only true religion.

    We Read in Scripture:

31 You must not worship the Lord your God the way the other nations worship their gods, for they perform for their gods every detestable act that the Lord hates. They even burn their sons and daughters as sacrifices to their gods. Deuteronomy 12:31 NLT

10 For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering.[a] And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, Deuteronomy 18:10 NLT

21 “Do not permit any of your children to be offered as a sacrifice to Molech, for you must not bring shame on the name of your God. I am the Lord. Leviticus 18:21 NLT

    Foul...strike three!

Such foul/distasteful language, I read nowhere in Scripture that uses such foul/distasteful language such as you have.

Furthermore, Abraham was not the person you described. He is regarded as the Father of all who believe because of his unquestioning faith in God. And so, he is a highly respectable person among the believers who have unquestioning faith in God as Abraham did.

    We Read in Scripture:

16 So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe. Romans 4:16 NLT

It appears you didn't get the memo regarding the Abraham/Isaac story. Truth be told, there was no sacrifice done here, matter of fact it was all about God testing Abraham's faith. Now I have presented an explanation and it appears again you haven't been taking any notes as we went along these threads of mine. So rather than me presenting it here again, I'll just leave the link below where you can find it but of course I don't expect you to read it, but nevertheless you have three strikes so far. Normally you're out on three strikes but you took a few more swings and so I have to allow you that. Oh, and this explanation below I gave it to the jolly good fella whose post was related to the Abraham/Isaac story.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...g-christianity.593626/page-32#post-1073711482

    Foul...strike four!

Whoah! you're way out of bounds here Gawd. God did no such thing.

And it appears again you didn't get the memo. Why just recently I put up a few days ago what I'm going to put up again just for you Gawd.

So let me tell you what truly happened.

Jesus was unjustly/wrongly condemned to death by crucifixion at the orders of evil men. For He was innocent of all charges. These evil men chose the method of how they were going to execute Jesus. Crucifixion was a barbaric and very cruel way of executing a condemned person to death. It was a slow, painful death of agony for the condemned.

Jesus did not deserve to be condemned and put to death in this manner that was carried out by evil men. For He was the only person who ever lived that lived a sinless life.

God allowed these evil men to do an unrighteous act, but because of God's supreme wisdom, He turns this unrighteous act into something good, something positive that is done for the benefit of all mankind.

Jesus' life is restored on the 3rd day, He is resurrected from the dead and now sinners can be redeemed through their belief and faith that Jesus died to save them from the punishment of their sins. Jesus paid the sin debt for mankind.

This sacrifice at the altar of injustice is the ultimate expression of God's love. Amazingly, in the midst of a monstrous injustice God can design a means of victory.
The just one dies unjustly for the unjust to make them just! The ways and wisdom of God are beyond our figuring out; we cannot understand them until He gives us revelation.

    We Read in Scripture:

22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. 23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. Romans 3:22-26 NLT

Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ said,

"For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16 NLT

    Foul...strike five!

Now Gawd you're just spewing out bitter hatred, you're being too emotional here...simmer down! take a deep breath and calm yourself down.

Calling God nasty names is never a good thing to do. Have some respect for the Creator Almighty God who created the universe and everything in it that lives or is inanimate.

And I know you don't respect Him because you don't believe in Him, you don't believe He exists but why get so emotional over someone who you don't believe exists...it doesn't make any sense for you to have such an emotional outburst.

All of creation is dependent on the life that God alone sustains, without Him, nothing would exist.

And just as a reminder, our lives on God's lush green earth are temporal, it is very short but the hereafter, the afterlife is forever and ever and the door to eternal bliss does not stay open forever.

    We Read in Scripture:

4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:4 NLT

Ok Gawd thanks for your post, you took five swings but failed every time to get a hit, so you're out dude!

As an American, I'm going by our founding documents by our Founding Fathers. Either way, unless there has been another USA, we've waited the entire history of mankind for the birth of our nation. So what if women had to wait a little longer while men got it up and running. What did they lose by gaining freedom at the expense of men. Not to mention gaining perspective on the side while men did all the labor nursing the nation to strength until women could play a greater role in its management.

Not weird to me. I don't presume to question Gods wisdom or dictate his hand as if to dispossess him of his own agency. I have full confidence in the rightness of his judgments, even if it's to my own lamentation. The greatest commandment is to love God in fullness(heart, soul, and mind). So to that end I labor. Call it vain and superstitious. But what's the alternative. How can you love anyone else if you don't love the truth first and most.

All that from words in a book that time has shown to be a story book. Wow. Try and be honest for once and reply to the points I put forward.

Furthermore, Abraham was not the person you described. He is regarded as the Father of all who believe because of his unquestioning faith in God. And so, he is a highly respectable person among the believers who have unquestioning faith in God as Abraham did.

Well, it's interesting that a mythical character can have faith in God.

God does not have a religion for God is Almighty, Holy, Eternal, and totally self-sufficient. He does not need any created being to rely on, but we surely do need Him.

So he never asked the prophets to prophecy, to do tasks he couldn't do for some reason. Perhaps he didn't want to show himself?

He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:4 NLT

Taken from Isaiah and referring, as all of Isaiah is, to Israel. Christianity was 800 years in the future.

Have some respect for the Creator Almighty God who created the universe and everything in it that lives or is inanimate.

Respect for the God that created and 'sustains' a world that kills his own people because he created it so unstable. Mmm.

The OT is complete in itself if you study everything. Not just what is written in it. Why would the Hebrews write anything about the distant future - it it was ever to come.

Reality isn't your strongest virtue, is it Mitt.

I await your response with quotes from the storybook.

It’s not that some of these people do not believe in God, it is that they hate God, and all he stands for

What is truth? To you one thng. To another something else. But they can't both be true. That 's why we have so many religious sects whose leaders have all supposedly received a word from god or a heavenly being. Moses supposedly received the 10 commandments - or rule for living - from his god. Hammurabi wrote his rules which he claims came from Marduk. The Bible claims that God used Cyrus. But Cyrus tells us it was his god Marduk that told him what to do. Paul claims it was his god - Jesus - that spoke to him in a vision. Mohammed had visitations from Gabriel on behalf of Allah.

    What is truth?

The biblical creation story is too stupid to be taken seriously. There was no cosmic God floating around in space having conversations about creating men and women. Who was there to listen to the conversation? People didn't exist so how could anyone know what was said?

There are some points that should be considered. The first one is that the Bible says that only Jews are men (humans) and that everyone else are animals (snakes, dogs, donkeys, animals, swine, beasts).

The second point is that the creation story fits the Moses story, where he forced the Israelites to live by his rules, thereby becoming his image.

Truth is eternal. It is things as they were, are, and are to come. There are also lies and liars who attempt to counterfeit the truth. It is said that Satan can appear as an angel of light. It is up to the individual to discern whether a thing is true or not. There can only be one true God. That is truth.

The biblical God, and Jesus, are narcissists who will kill everyone that doesn't love them. They have no forgiveness. It is all about them and their vanity.

We are angels sent to tell Mitt the truth but he refuses to listen. He instead believes in an ancient silly ethnocentric fairytale cooked up by unknown people. Oh well, he has free will so he will suffer from his delusions the remainder of his life. He'll end up like the Jesus character in the fairytale where he will finally realize the truth as he takes his final breaths. He will see that he has been lied to all of his life as he fades away into eternal darkness.

Didn't know they existed. You must belong to them so perhaps you could recommend me to them so I could join.

I'm simply here to counteract someone called Mitt and his own interpretations of scripture. He has no idea of the ancient world and how it gives a different interpretation of the Bible - completely different from his version.

Nothing is eternal. all things start and end. Truth, in the spiritual real, is what the individual wants to believe. What he believes he has experienced.

'Satan' only became an enemy of God in Christianity. In original Judaism HaSatan (the Satan) was a messenger created by God to test mens faith. Matthews fanciful picture story was the Jewish belief that Jesus was tested and passed. Picture language was the Hebrew way of writing such things. Matthew wasn't there, neither was anyone else. It's just a picture story which Christianity used to call Jesus' testing' a 'temptation'.

There can only be one true God. That is truth

And yours is the one? How do you know? All the people and visions etc I mentioned before are wrong?

That would be a sensible question if people based their lives around and tried to shape society to force us all to abide by Santa doctrine, if wars were fought over chocolate eggs, or if fraudsters were allowed to fleece the elderly and not pay tax if they carried candy canes.

One knows by knowing, of course. And knowing comes from seeking. So the question isn't how do I know what I know. Your question should be, how are you supposed to know what is true from all the many proposals. I think that you should not look for God in the Gods, beliefs, and philosophies of men. You should look for him in prayer to heaven. And set aside that twisty kaleidoscope of mens opinions which is designed to dazzle and mislead. Just be honest.

And what/where is heaven? You only believe it because you believe in your god. Others are quite sure that their heaven exists because of their experiences. Interpretation of their experiences is contolled by the brain.

Wow! why so emotional? Simmer down, why do non-Christians get so emotional when they interact with a Christian? You don't see me behaving like that toward non-Christians, I refrain from using foul/distasteful language. I conduct myself on this thread in a civilized, respectable manner. And I also refrain from telling lies on this thread, telling lies are not a good thing to do. It can hurt people in devastating ways.

When I make statements that has biblical truths in them, I back up my statements by presenting Scripture that confirms what I'm saying, so there's no lies being generated by me. I'm only stating what has been revealed to us by Almighty God. And Almighty God does not lie, He is not a man, so He does not lie.

    We Read in Scripture:

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? Numbers 23.19 ESV

In hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began Titus 1:2 ESV

So that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. Hebrews 6:18 ESV

And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or have regret, for he is not a man, that he should have regret.” 1 Samuel 15:29 ESV

But I know people lie all the time but that doesn't make it right because as far as God is concerned it's a sin to lie and so it is wrong. Like I've already mentioned it can hurt people in devastating ways.

Look at our politicians, they lie to us routinely, it's just what they do but still it isn't right because they are negatively affecting the people they serve, people are hurting, hurting bad from their lies.

We got a POTUS whose middle name is Pinocchio. What a character that guy is.

If I was to receive a dollar every time one of them had lied in the past ten years, I would be a billionaire today.

Yes, we live in a sinful, fallen, broken world. So much lying going on, we don't know who to trust anymore. But of course, we Christians know who to trust, it's Our Creator Almighty God!

Now let me leave you with a sad song sung by a woman who has been hurt so bad by her lover because he lied to her and so she hurts way down deep inside. Yes, lying is not a very good thing to do, that's why it's a sin.

Ok thanks Kode for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it.

That’s the subtle, concealed way of insulting someone while looking superior. Pretend to assume it was an emotional reaction and call for calmness.

Sure. Belief backed up by belief. Faith by faith. Opinion by opinion.

And yet you never answered the question about “morning star” with anything relating to the morning star, nor about “circumcision of the heart” at all. You don’t seem to really know nearly as much about your bible as you pretend.
