Paxton to Newsmax: No Texas in Union Without Federal Border Protection

In response to a recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) report on the arrest of 171 illegal immigrants with pending charges or convictions, Paxton commended the efforts but expressed concerns about the vast numbers of people entering the country. He highlighted ongoing lawsuits against the federal government to prevent the release of criminals into the country and stressed the importance of states resisting such actions…

He’s exactly right about that and he needed to say that. Now for the intellectually challenged he is not advocating that Texas leave the union now. Though I would not even blame him if he did given present circumstances and federal regime in place. He’s simply stating that had today’s conditions been present in 1787-1789 few if any states would have signed it.

 

The Texas AG is right about Biden nationalizing the Texas National Guard. He has the power to do it but doing so would almost certainly hurt him in the election campaign. Also how many other states national guard would he have to nationalize along the border? As many as 25….

 

The Constitution bars any state from leaving the Union.

Just a historical note....one of the reasons Texas seceded from Mexico was due to Mexican Army's failure to assist them in defence of marauding Comanches.
