Pete Hegseth’s Mother Accused Her Son of Mistreating Women for Years

Penelope Hegseth made the accusation in an email to her son in 2018, amid his contentious divorce. She said on Friday that she regretted the email and had apologized to him.
    [...]
Mrs. Hegseth, in a phone interview with The New York Times on Friday, said that she had sent her son an immediate follow-up email at the time apologizing for what she had written. She said she had fired off the original email “in anger, with emotion” at a time when he and his wife were going through a very difficult divorce.
    [...]
In the interview, she defended her son and disavowed the sentiments she had expressed in the initial email about his character and treatment of women. “It is not true. It has never been true,” she said. She added: “I know my son. He is a good father, husband.” She said that publishing the contents of the first email was “disgusting.”

I can see that she regretted it, but she did say it, write it, and it was emotional and her truth for her at the time she wrote it, and something about here son compelled her to write it. I'm sure she regrets saying it now because when she wrote it, she didn't realize he would have risen so high as to become the nominee for Secretary of Defense, and that is why she regrets it, she doesn't want to be the one who damages his chances at such a high office, so she is back pedaling, as a mother who still claims she loves her son.

But she did write these words, and she confirmed it to the NY Times and, for me, that is the salient point.

Need I say anything more? When your mom writes you an email and says these things about you, what more can be more damning than that?

Are we to disbelieve his own mother? What? She did not ask for publicity, the email was obtained by the Washington Post and leaked by someone, which I doubt was her.

Given this revelation, what are the odds that he raped Jane Doe?

    I'd say 99.99%.
