As for me being more proficient, it’s not a contest and who knows; I know a major factor is you are still with us, and have survived what many armchair... not hard to see that. In Ireland we have a saying,
‘Aithníonn ciaróg ciaróg eile’, it means, One beetle recognises another. There are a few here that write from knowledge and experience and many that repeating the stuff of indoctrination; over time it’s not difficult to figure who knows what.
I sometimes have along a NY reload, a .22 mag NAA Pug that is almost always in either my front pocket or by my wallet; my magic gun... it can suddenly appear with with a bit of a slight of hand...carried for many years as a last ditch hedge, but I have never actually deployed it... hope I never have to.
BTW, one thing few talk about, but I suspect you know, speed is not just in the draw and operation of the weapon you are carrying, but also a factor of commitment. A quote I remember from a John Wayne movie, the Shootist, has his character say something similar to, ‘some men will hestitate just before they kill you; I won’t’. In any action, whether with fists, knives or guns, that is the edge. Many without the experience don’t know what they do, those that have survived an experience know what they are capable of doing and have the edge.

That brought back memories of an old time Irish American Cop, N.Y.P.D. Pat was his name, he chased a suspect into a building, and the guy got behind Pat and took his service revolver.

Pat had a High Standard 2 shot .22 magnum in his pocket covered by a handkerchief, and was able to feign mopping his brow and shot the man twice in the head, killing him.

I like Glocks...on the range anyway...my small town is pretty quiet so my EDC is a charter 38 and iver johnson TP22 if I'm in jeans..in cargo pants I can add/swap for a SCCY CPX-2 (decent little piece and EXCELLENT warranty service ) ...I too like the old stainless smiths but sometimes awkward to hide in casual wear ,now if I go into the cities , I up the ante
