The first presidential debate will employ muted microphones. If it’s not the candidate’s turn to speak, his microphone will be muted. Does this favor a particular candidate?
I believe this will help Donald Trump. In the 2020 debate, he was out of control most of the time. If any one sentence can be cited as a reason for Biden’s win, it would be “Will you shut-up, man”. Trump will appear more in control, and the muted Mike will help him.
Prolly won't matter. Trump never says anything specific and Biden never makes any sense. And I don't think there's any voters left out there still trying to decide between the two of them, if this was any indication: Are there any fence sitters? | PoliticalForum.com - Forum for US and Intl Politics
I think it will definitely happen. It would be a real strike against either candidate, if they canceled. Biden is definitely a more seasoned debater, and that’s why I think muting favors Trump. He’s a narcissist who can’t control himself, so the adults in the room will control him.
Except I think it will rile him up that his microphone has been muted. He will be angry...not a good thing for success in a debate. It should benefit Biden as he will be able to get his points across uninterrupted. And the same should be the case with Trump. The answer is that it SHOULD benefit both men.
I voted "Biden" because when he gets incoherent, they can turn off his mike and cite "technical difficulties." It's also a way shut Trump up if he goes rambling. Shutting off the mike benefits Biden that way. Trump screwed himself with his rambling press conferences during Covid. He should have delivered the information he planned to give and then shut up.
It's necessary with Trump, who behaves like a petulant child who doesn't know when its his turn to speak and when its not. So, it will favor Trump, because it will force him to behave more like an adult. Still, he might start screaming without the mic in order to be heard.
Trump proved the Russian Collusion accusation was a hoax perpetrated by Hillary Clinton. The lie continued during the 2020 election.
So you are convinced after the facts proved otherwise there was Russian collusion? Muller's investigation proved there was no Russian collusion. https://apnews.com/united-states-government-3053d226815e4c8d905322ea1d8cd1a1 WASHINGTON (AP) — Special counsel Robert Mueller spent 22 months examining whether Donald Trump’s campaign conspired with Russia to sway the 2016 election. His conclusion? No collusion.
Correction. There was no indictment (of Trump). https://time.com/5556331/mueller-investigation-indictments-guilty-pleas/ Along with a team of experienced prosecutors and attorneys, the former FBI director has indicted, convicted or gotten guilty pleas from 34 people and three companies, including top advisers to President Trump, Russian spies and hackers with ties to the Kremlin. The charges, which Mueller referenced during his opening statement to the House Judiciary Committee on July 24, range from interfering with the 2016 election and hacking emails to lying to investigators and tampering with witnesses.
