Let’s face reality. Ukraine is doomed for sure since the events of this past Saturday have made the recent former POTUS Mr T the next POTUS after Biden either loses or the Mr. T’s forces are able to prevent certification of the November vote if by some miracle Binden wins.

 

...there's a lot of if's and buts involved....the political and military and industrial calculus is pretty complex....even if the Orange crapbag gets in it's a reasonable bet that Ukraine will be able to continue their defence against a faltering Russian invasion....

I think the difference is that no one thinks that I'm not who I say I am, which is an American. In the 12 years or so that I've been here, I've posted on a variety of American issues. Meanwhile, no one believes you are from South Dakota and you've only ever posted about Russia.

I do like your optimism but the stars are not lining up too well for the land of my ancestors. Jd Vance who is the newly crowned Mr. Donald’s Veep candidate apparently is extremely anti Ukrainian and very pro Putin pro Russia. It is also true that Mr. Donald loves supporters and staff people who do not have any self respect and only mouth the beliefs of Mr. Donald. Unfortunately JD Vance has “lost” his old or prior beliefs and warnings about the radicalism of Mr. Donald and has been marching in lock step mouthing and maybe exceding the apparent radicalism of Mr. Donald which is extremely anti Ukrainian and anti NATO anti EU and pro Russia.

 

And or mimic the sentiment of their political heroes.

...I don't know much about this Vance guy but I'd bet he's just there to attract some demographic or another...certainly there's no room in the upper circle for anything that'll take the limelight and glory from Trump. I'd bet he's just a useful idiot put in place simply for the sake of there having to be a running mate.
...Trump's a very simple person. His only motivation is self glorification...he's just a petty little disruptor and basks in the glory of railling against things and people. He's not so good when things get cerebral and complicated so we can hope that those left around him with some semblance of intelligence will be able to hold his hand and point him in the right direction. Also, I'd be amazed if the Ukrainian foreign affairs and intelligence people haven't got a strategy in place to manage Trump - massage the guy's ego with some magical thinking and star spangled praise to the point where's on his tummy begging for the biscuit.
