I'd say the obvious ones aren't trolls...the real subversive trolls blend in to appear like one of our own...

the russians are captive to worse troll propaganda than us, with no independent media they have no access to the truth...they believe the fantasy world fed them is reality....

That, unfortunately, is the case when a nation's media is part of the scam!

I'll tell you what - go and spend a year or two in Russia somewhere then come back and tell me if your opinions have changed. In other words, speak with some first-hand knowledge, because from what I've seen from a variety of sources, Russians seem perfectly happy (apart from the anti-government factions and would-be anarchists, of course) with their president - which is more than you can say about yours right now, with the porn star payout controversy, and illegal invasions of sovereign countries.

if the world you live in is a fantasy world produced by the corrupt russian mafia king how would they know any different? state propaganda is well practiced art mastered by russians from the days of the former USSR who have many decades of experience with it...I have my russian friends who have first hand experience with russian politics, it's why they no longer live in russia...
ahh yeah about that...I'm an EU citizen living in Canada, so....

Just like it is by the political classes and the mainstream medias in any other country you care to mention?? Russia is no worse than any of them, and I happen to believe it's much better. So you've got a couple of 'Russian friends' who slag off their home country - big deal.

because you speak with a few russians who live in the mafia media bubble -big deal

if one is in a bubble then they have no idea of the real reality ...to oppose it and criticize the mob boss gets you labeled as "anti-government factions and would-be anarchists" and draws the attention of tzar Vlads people resulting in beatings, imprisonment on false charges, murders...
it's ludicrous to compare russia with any western democracy, that is unless you're a russian troll...

It would be more accurate to compare Russia to Iran or Nazi Germany.....and just like those two countries, Russia has fake elections and no true democracy!

WTF is all that supposed to mean?? What evidence do you have of 'tzar Vlads people resulting in beatings, imprisonment on false charges, murders...'? And even if there were any truth in it, how does it compare with rendition?

    2. (especially in the US) the practice of sending a foreign criminal or terrorist suspect covertly to be interrogated in a country with less rigorous regulations for the humane treatment of prisoners.

there's a obvious shifting of the goal posts....rendition of enemies is far removed from intimidation and murder of ones own countrymen, it's not even remotely the same. Other than Vlad's official spokesman you won't find many who wouldn't admit that it isn't true...

There is a long list of the dead who attempted to reveal the truth about Putin's Russia but their lives were ended when their voices became to strong!

So if 'Vlad' sent his enemies and his country's traitors to other countries to be tortured and otherwise dealt with, that'd be okay would it? Actually we had one of Russia's traitors here, but not to be tortured - Sergei Skripal was made so welcome that he became a celebrity. Yes it really is true - HM governments actually offer sanctuary to traitors from other countries. Now isn't that nice of us?

you're off on a tangent deflecting from the issue of the suppression of democratic opposition.

That phrase is meaningless to me, and probably to anyone else who reads it.

And if you believe that, you'll believe anything - the Salisbury thing was staged.

lol I stand to be corrected, but I seem to recall that Seth Rich, who had stepped out of line with the US administration is some way, was shot dead only a short distance from the senate building, and his assassin was never identified (it was put down to 'a street robbery gone wrong' - yeah, right!). Honestly, this wall-to-wall anti-Putin propaganda which is regurgitated on this forum day after effing day is pure hypocrisy.

Do you think this was political cerberus? I ask because I heard brief commentary about this, but I am unfamiliar with both Seth Rich and his stances on certain issues.

If I were you, I'd take that fairy tale to the UN, CNN or possibly North Korea.....perhaps you can generate some momentum by doing so.....but asserting that "the Salisbury thing" was staged is just plain ignorant!

Of course it was political - although it was covered up at the time with the claim that it was a street robbery gone wrong.

Would you care to give me an example of why you believe that it wasn't? Just making a knee-jerk accusation that I'm 'plain ignorant' doesn't cut it.

I had my suspicion but I did not explore the thought online.

I didn't either, but I just happened to see the subject in a BBC Panorama expose.
