    Is "JREF" a closed club,
you gotta know the secret handshake to get in?
or are they even taking on any new members?
    anybody know anything about this?
The "admin" email at JREF isn't answered.

JREF is just as much of a echo chamber as the Prison Planet & Let's Roll forums. Whereas the latter suggest that everything is a conspiracy & that no government can ever be trusted the former suggest that nothing is a conspiracy & that governments like the U.S. & U.K. can always be trusted. Contrarian thoughts at either end of the spectrum will be met with hostility as hivemind thinking exists in abundance. One group likely has terrorists among the forum users while the other likely has people that get paid to espouse particular talking points.

My recommendation? Steer clear of all three and any like them.

as if I could not find a link and follow published procedure,
however, I get back an email that is ambiguous and after
that, they stop communicating and its a dead end.
So for some unnamed reason, they are rejecting memberships.
    their loss.

What does the email say. They have a strict policy about multiple accounts, so if some time in the past you registered, the system wont let you create a new account

any given forum on the web, is equivalent to private property so they can
make up their own rules and enforce them as they see fit,
but I have a question, what defines "sockpuppet"?

I gave up posting at JREF because the moderators delete the posts of truthers when they start to get the upper hand in a debate. There's no "Post deleted" notice so the viewers don't know the posts have been deleted. It simply looks like the truthers chickened out and didn't reply when they in fact had the other side cornered.

They also delete info they don't want the viewers to see. I tried to post a summary of proof that the Apollo moon missions were faked there and it was impossible. The info wouldn't appear.

I tried posting a link to the summary in post #1 of this thread.
    http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=230521

The moderator deleted it. This is the link that got deleted.
    http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144487

It's near impossible to post that info there. Truthers can't make their case.

Register and log in at JREF and click on my username (FatFreddy88). Click on "Show all statistics". Click on one of these links.

    Find all posts by FatFreddy88
Find all threads started by FatFreddy88

Deleted posts go to a section called "Abandon All Hope". Only logged in members can view that section. You'll see the posts of mine that got deleted. You'll see that there's nothing in those posts except truther info which would not get deleted on a site with objective moderators.

JREF is a disinfo site and the regular pro-official version posters and the moderators there don't even believe their own arguments. They all know Apollo was a hoax and that 9/11 was an inside job as well as the truthers do.

Similar things happened to me at the David Icke forum.
    http://www.davidicke.com/forum/

I gave up posting there too.

The proof is simply too clear to obfuscate.

There's a point at which things are so clear that sophistry becomes ineffective. The best sophist in the world couldn't convince an eight-year-old that a picture of a chicken is really a picture of a pig. The proof that 9/11 was an inside job and that the moon missions were faked is about that clear.

I was just thinking, what if specific municipalities had their own democratic forums
( that is NOT involved with the silly donkey vs elephant fiasco, but more of the people)
anyhow, it would ultimately be under the control of the voters and could reflect any bias
of the community, but as yet another point of being able to assemble in the commons
and express oneself, could be a good idea. The town of Lubbock Texas would have
a rather different forum than say San Francisco, but its a thought as to how to have
different forums that will either entertain or not different ideas, based on a criteria that
isn't one persons bias, but more is a reflection of what the community thinks.
There could be internships filled by college kids to make it run, and run well
without spending $$$!. How about it, anybody like the idea of community
    based forums?

    Devil's advocate

If the taxpayers have to put up so much as a dime for this there will be
opposition to the plan. Question for who ever may have some experience
in this matter, how much does it cost, & what man-hours commitment does
it take to operate a forum?
