    I responded to your thought experiment, from a wider standpoint for saying something one believes to be true vs not. The wider approach and point still stand. A harmless delusion is one that you have deemed harmless, and a truth you have deemed unworthy. I say that the truth should triumph over deceit, and breaking people's delusions is the more noble act. The pursuit and spread of knowledge is an honorable goal, regardless of what you call it (deception lol). What people do when they know the truth is their responsibility, not the bearer of the truth. That may be beyond the comprehension of a liberal though.

    this is the problem with theocracies and those that want to eliminate all religion, you can force people to pretend to believe or not believe, but they will still believe the same regardless

    the real targets are the children, make the parents afraid to talk about their real beliefs to the children and gov brainwashing sets in for future generations, this is how the Muslims and Christian religions prospered
