The Democrat in charge of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jerry Nadler, believes that antifa and the destruction the radical group is causing, are “myths.”

Myths like this:

Nadler made this claim to Twitter user “Essential Fleccas” who respectfully asked him on video if the congressman would disavow the antifa violence that has plagued Portland, Oregon for more than 60 straight nights.

Here’s how the conversation went:

EF: There’s violence across the whole country. Do you disavow the violence by antifa that’s happening in Portland right now, the violence?

Nadler: That’s a myth that’s being spread only in Washington, DC.

EF: About antifa in Portland?

Nadler: Yes.

EF: Sir, there’s videos everywhere online. There’s fires and riots. They’re throwing fireworks at federal officers. DHS is there. Look online. That’s crazy, Mr. Nadler.

This is totally insane. He has to be an idiot to really believe he can sell the public on Antifa being imaginary and that the violence in the big cities a myth. There will be some such true believers who want to believe that.

I follow several twitter accounts that post images and videos of Portland violence daily.

 

Feel free to show me to be wrong but I don't see this is a denial of the violence, only a denial that the specific organisation called Antifa is significantly involved. People can be violent without being associated with any particular organisation and trying to create the impression that it is a singular centrally organised thing if that isn't the case would be a bad thing, especially among those whose job it is to try to work out how to stop it.

Seems clear cut..

No one suggested its just Anti-fa doing the violence..... Did you think i would not notice that?

 

But the question wasn't about violence in Portland, it was specifically about Antifa in Portland. That was literally the second question. Maybe if they hasn't asked such leading questions, they would have got clearer answers (though I doubt that's what they wanted). I mean, they could have asked about "the false flag right wing violence" in Portland and got exactly the same response.

It's also worth noting that the title of the article took it to mean Antifa rather than the violence in general, even thought they were condemning him for it.

And please don't take this as a defence of Nadler (who I know very little about). I dislike politicians and political operatives equally.
