Report: Plasma Therapy Showing ‘Excellent’ Results Against Coronavirus

Sounds most interesting, and is very encouraging. Hopefully, thanks to President Trump, the red-tape will get cut and this can proceed to trials quickly.

According to Columbia University Center for Infection and Immunity’s Dr. W. Ian Lipkin, dubbed the “Virus Hunter,” plasma therapy has been working very well against novel coronavirus, and is expected to be available to the public in four weeks.

A paper set to come out soon in “a very prominent medical journal,” shows “ten out of ten patients treated with plasma from patients who’ve recovered from COVID-19 had excellent results,” Dr. Lipkin told Fox Business host Melisa Francis on Thursday.

“This is the first news, not the last, by any means, that suggests that there may be a therapy that’s very useful” to fight against the virus, the doctor added.

Dr. Lipkin told Francis that “we could have treatments in four weeks that could begin to save lives.”

“We’re gonna have to get approval through the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), and we’re gonna have to get approval of institutional review boards associated with our individual institutions” before such treatments hit the public, the doctor said, adding that he’s “confident" that it will get done.

If this treatment is legitimately effective as claimed, it's absurd that they'd have to sit around waiting for approval.

Dr. Lipkin discovered the plasma therapy, and hopefully Trump can help with the red tape so it can be available sooner.

Personally, I think in situations like this, if someone with COVID-19 wanted to try this (or something similarly experimental), I think they should be allowed to, whether or not it has gone thru all of the testing and red tape.

Who would have ever thought the normal process of a body’s innate ability to fight off disease and infection would be the answer?

Remember recent events such as Y2k and the Mayan calendar end of the world. People were pulling out cash from all their bank accounts. People stocking up on food and supplies. Personally, I want the Virus to abate as quickly as possible.

With minimal infections, minimal death, and minimal damage to the economy.

I would hope that Every American (and Citizen of the World) would agree.

That said, I don't think that anyone should be (in the least bit) surprised if they find themselves questioning the motives of people who are (seemingly) making this "political" (on both sides).

"Downplaying the Virus" for strictly political purposes is just as bad as anything else.

Trump's Election led to an increase in Political Incivility and Partisan Vitriol.

Trump's "Politics of Division" are 100% Responsible for any sort of "Politicization" of the Virus Crisis.

There’s probably millions of recovered patients. I’m sure this bug has entered millions upon millions and most have passed it off as the common winter time every year sickness while going through everyday life. This is going to look really pathetic when flu season is over and statistics for hospitalization and deaths are comparable to any other year. The only statistics that will be drastically different are the GDP, unemployment and consumer confidence.

 

If Trump takes a dump in their yard they thank him profusely for the fertilizer.

The difficulty with this is that blood has to be drawn, and drawn from a patient who has recovered from coronavirus. Perhaps some of the hospital charges could be dropped in return for the patient's blood.
