It is very relevant to the topic. Contraception would prevent the unwanted pregnancies that some want to abort....... and since abortion is no longer "legal...........contraception is even more critical.

And you think that was because women were just better people and not because safe and regulated abortion access was not available? Where did you get your statistics from? Have you considered that there is going to be limited data on how many abortions actually happened back then because it wasn't exactly something that people were polled about and even if they had been, would have been in a position to admit? Women back then would have had to get abortions under the radar or as a DIY procedure. If you didn't know someone that could tell you how to DIY, you couldn't even do that, and DIY methods are not usually safe to begin with.

Banning abortion is just as dumb as banning guns. I certainly agree that anyone who understands why gun control wont stop criminals determined to get one, abortion control similarly fails to stop determined aborters from getting one. Now this is admittedly anecdotal to my area, but I imagine its common in a lot of voting districts across the US- there were no politicians on my last ballot that supported both 'gun rights' and 'reproductive rights'. They all were pro one and anti the other. In my area (and likely many others across the US), people must choose between politicians who want to take one right and politicians who want to take another (or not vote). Thats how people can get elected while suggesting totally ridiculous things like forcible gun confiscation or banning travel for abortions.
I am on your side of this issue, but leftists are not in a position to criticize considering the overreaching Covid mandates they imposed.
