May be liberals want to make peace lovers out of people around them

 

I want to do that too, but I understand sacrifice, personal responsibility, taking initiative, etc.. Liberals hate hearing these things but it's true. You can not please every segment of the population and still have a functioning country. You can't have everything.

I appreciate some of what liberals do, but I believe there are lines you don't cross and if it weren't for conservatives they would continue taking us to the left. More spending, higher taxes, more regulation, more taxes, more spending...these policies cannot last forever. That's where the Tea Party comes into play..Liberals (including George W. to an extent, he was not a conservative president) have crossed multiple lines and have gone so far outside of their boundaries.

This is the common misconception, that the Tea Party is extreme. We are not extreme, the Democrat Party has been extreme lately, we're just and equal and opposite reaction to it.

 

Interesting thing. Russian liberals are contrast of American liberals. They lead to the right. Less taxes, less state intervention in economy, less regulation. But they are also despised by Russians. It seems to me there is one common line which unites them. Both American and Russian liberals do not love own countries.

Actually Russian political spectrum differs from the western spectrum like a mirror's reflection. As Russia has a long history of state regulation and state intervention in economy, those political forces which support left spectrum of opinions are conservatives. Communists are the extreme form of conservatives from this point of view. And on the contrary those political forces which advance the idea of free market and non-interference of the state to economy are considered as liberals. But they are not completely rightists in the western sense of this word. As western rightists are usually patriots of their countries. Our liberals being supporters of economy without state regulation concerning foreign policy ideas are supporters of globalization, even to the detriment of interests of Russia. That is not patriotism and makes related our liberals with the western left liberals.

Patriotic spectrum in Russia basically is occupied by leftists: communists, social democrats. Though there are some right patriots. They are so-called ideological followers of white movement of the beginning of XX century. Sometimes western observers confuse right patriots with Russian nationalists. These are absolutely different things. As any nationalism is destructive in the multi-ethnic country. Russian nationalism is especially destructive. So Russian nationalists are perhaps the most destructive force which I cannot name as patriots. Russian patriotism is multi-ethnic in its essence.

As to a party of officials which rule now in Russia. For my point perhaps this is the party of pragmatists without any special ideological dogmas.
