son comes in tells me there is a fledgling robin under the old apple tree...so off we go..and sure enough there is one...there is a nest..there is a saga...the nest is way up in the top of the tree requiring a ladder.... upon inspection of the nest..it has a big hole in the nest and the other fledglings bottom is falling out of the nest already....so some minor nest repair was required: of course by the time he goes up the ladder he drops all the nesting material out of the red bowl: finally he is getting the fledgling back in the nest, now look closely on the right hand side....yep that is the other fledgling jumping out of the nest:
Barn quilts? Neato, I love old barns and need to go on a barn photo excursion, but barn quilts are new to me. Grand Canyon: Pub / Old Whorehouse in Memphis (Ray Charles used to bunk there): "And the rockets Red GLAAAARE..." And for those who are curious, a self-portrait:
Here is where I live in Jackson, WY. nestled against the foothills of the rockies in a little valley up in the mountains.
nice old timer...here is the webcam of downtown: http://www.highcountrywebcams.com/webcameras_BannerElk.htm
OldTimer: love, Love, LOVE Jackon (Hole). Visited the Grand Teton's after Yellowstone last year (instantly recognize Artist's Point, lovely.) I MUST live in that part of the country at some point, it'd be an absolute dream to run an outdoors sporting company, maybe do floats down the Snake river. Not sure how well a southern girl could handle those rough winters though! Strolling: I'm envious...Yosemite is the national park next on my list! SpotsCat: I saw on the news recently where folks were waiting in lines for up to 3 hours at a new In/Out that just opened in Texas! The burger looks excellent, but needless to say, it could never live up to my expectations (but then again, I'd probably expect sodomy if I had to wait that long! )
What makes In-N'-Out so good, is that everything is fresh - nothing is frozen! They make hamburgers the "old school" way - slice tomatoes and onions, leaf the heads of lettuce, grind their own beef, bake their own buns, they even go so far as to peel fresh potatoes and put them through a french fry maker. Some people say that Five Guys is as good as In-N'-Out - I haven't been to Five Guys yet, but there's one here in town, and I might head over this weekend. Anyway, back on topic -- Green Giant - Blue Earth, Minnesota
five guys is totally over rated....they claim all that fresh stuff too....i havent had the in and out burger but it looks good
Wow, some amazing photos. You guys are so talented. Had a great time looking at them all. Cenydd, don't you ever quit taking pictures of your pups, they are just gorgeous.
throw some of your own pics up....i love looking at photos....try to give us a bit of a description of what it is....
First, let me apologize in advance. I've taken a bunch of pictures with the camera on my cellphone, but they just don't look good when they get enlarged and posted - blurry, the contrast or the brightness is off, or the colors just don't reproduce well. Someday I'll get a decent digital camera and take better pictures of the stuff I see while I travel - but until then... c'est la vie. Anyway... I bought a four-pack of this in Iowa. It is undoubtedly the worst soda ever made - no carbonation, it's almost syrupy, and smells like a cross between canned cat food and bacon grease. I brought it home and suckered my grandson into taking a drink. He spit it out into the sink and began rinsing his mouth out with the spray nozzle. I poured the rest into a bowl and set it on the floor for the dog - who smelled it, and looked at me with a "What did I ever do to you?" look on his face.
These are my favorite pictures I have taken: http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac11/BanachTarskiParadox/9377071c.jpg http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac11/BanachTarskiParadox/d6dae364.jpg http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac11/BanachTarskiParadox/27f8730f.jpg http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac11/BanachTarskiParadox/fe0acae5.jpg http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac11/BanachTarskiParadox/02354acb.jpg http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac11/BanachTarskiParadox/Img3316.jpg And browsing through I found some oldies but goodies... http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac11/BanachTarskiParadox/2f9f2527-1.jpg http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac11/BanachTarskiParadox/96a3e7fd-1.jpg http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac11/BanachTarskiParadox/102ae4ea.jpg
