There was only one person who was violently killed that day, and it wasn't anyone defending the Capitol. The election certification continued right after the Capitol was secured. Previous attempts to disrupt official government activities were never considered an insurrection. It's only when it involved a sitting President that the democrats suddenly redefined riots or attempts to disrupt an official government proceeding as an insurrection. Of course doing so could potentially keep Trump from holding the office of the POTUS. The others didn't involve him.

 

Most were prosecuted. Most of them paid fines...that's what happens when you are found guilty.

 

The Kavanaugh protesters did not overrun police barricades, they did not assault police officers, they did not illegally enter the Capitol building, they did not illegally remain in the Capitol building after being told to leave, they did damage the Capitol building, they did not cause the House chamber to be evacuated.

But other than that...yeah, they did the exact same thing as the people on 1/6 (Hint: That's sarcasm)

And yes, they have been convicted of trying to stop the certification.
There is no specific charge for stopping the certification, it falls under "obstructing an official proceeding" and MANY have been convicted of that.

 

Actually it was after police were assaulted and, as you admit yourself, members of Congress had to be evacuated for their safety.

So, yeah...an insurrection.

 

The Kavanaugh protestors broke the law. They were never convicted. No one's above the law. Right?

The Trump goon attack on outnumbered police failed to prevent Congress from formally recognizing the certified electoral votes of all the states. Th goons were incited to attempt to sabotage the democratic will by a loser's lie.

The disgusting spectacle has been condemned by decent Americans, Republicans as well as Democrats, and America's judicial system continues to bring the Trump goons to justice.

I'm not sure what your point is. Have I ever justified the riot of 1/6? No. In fact I've said on several occasions the idiots only made it worse for those who really believe in law and order. The MAGA supporters are being demonized because of the actions of a few idiots.
