I like to have my spices and flour mixed together and then coat the meat with it and cook it slowly with some olive oil. I also use beef stock instead of just water. I have found that if I steam my veggies a little that they will cook faster and better. After the meat is almost done I add my stock and veggies and continue cooking until the broth forms into a thick sauce ( this will happen because of the flour ).

And your right about it tasting better the next day after melding overnight.

HERE IS A LITTLE SOMETHING THAT I JUST FOUND THAT MIGHT GET A LAUGH OUT OF YA TODAY.

LOL, gotta love Ray Stevens... although I saw him at a lounge show in Vegas once and he was drunk on his butt. Made a total fool outta himself... but I guess that's part of his schtick!!

Yeah OT, sorry I left out that part... I also season, flour and brown the meat before I start the cooking process. And yep... just had a bowl and it's much better today!

Think I'm going for grilled talapia tonight. Brown rice w/steamed veggies on the side. Something healthy in honor of Shangrila's run! Like the snapper I had in Galveston... mmmmm, tasty.

Went for a run, enjoyed the fall colors and smells. Does the soul and body good.
Just had some beef stew. Yum, turned out great.

Dang, I'm hungry and I just had a bagel....catching up on posts from the weekend making my mouth water.

I made chicken fried steak, mashed taters, gravy and steamed veggies for supper Saturday. Yesterday, a pot of pinto beans with salt pork, cornbread and fried taters. We had our quota and then some of fried foods, but nothing like it.

I always help hubby root for his Saints, except when they're playing Dallas. They pulled it off yesterday, but it was a close one. I realized I enjoy watching them because I'm not emotionally invested in them. IOW...it doesn't break my heart when they lose, like it does when the Cowboys lose.

Morning, y'all!! Thanks for the burrito, OT....

Howdy, breakfast looking good, Kiwi too and are those fried okra? Sorry, but I'm not familiar with BKs offerings.

Chikin fried steak, now that sounds yummy. That's for tomorrow. Tonight its baked sweet potato and salad. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

Makes me think about sweet potato pie.....mmmmmmm:mrgreen:

After reading all the posts, I'm making a grocery list. I think some stew will be on the menu this weekend. And more cornbread, of course.

About the same..warm days, nice and cool evenings. I'm glad we're getting a stretch of fall weather, rather than one day of fall and then straight to winter.

It's soooo painful this year to be a Colts' fan. Sigh. And the Jets let me down. I was counting on them to give the Pats a resounding defeat. :cries:

Apart from Football, though, life is good! I love warm days and cool nights. I'm hoping that's the weather in Heaven when i get there. :floating:

Great job by the Rangers! It's also a buffer for eldest son to not worry so much about the Cowboys all week...LOL Now, he's stressing over the Rangers.

Rainy, cool and pleasant here this morning. Nice day to be curled up with......

    a good book or something....
