Reminds me of a joke I heard once:

What is West Virginia's state motto?

    "Thank God for Mississippi"

Just taking them time to make up for that Democrat running of things for so long.

    Mississippi Success Story
    Updated Jan. 23, 2023

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that Mississippi students can’t achieve great things. With the help of district and school leaders and dedicated teachers, students are rewriting the story about public education in the state. The narrative of “failing” Mississippi schools has been told for so long that many people don’t know that Mississippi students and schools are actually succeeding.

Our success is attracting national attention. The Education Week Quality Counts report ranked Mississippi No. 2 in the nation for improvement in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Quality Counts ranked Mississippi No. 2 in 2021 for closing 4th grade reading achievement gap between students in low-income families and their wealthier peers. What is more, Mississippi's Quality Counts ranking for K-12 achievement has risen from 50th in 2013 to 35th in 2021.

While Mississippi has more improvement to make, it is clear that the state’s steady achievements in education demonstrate that substantial progress has been made. The public education community is changing the narrative of what Mississippi students can accomplish with the right supports, higher expectations and bold initiatives.

Mississippi has achieved unprecedented academic success and student achievement is rising every year. Here’s the whole story.

National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP)

Mississippi 4th graders scored at the national average in both reading and math. Mississippi’s economically disadvantaged 4th graders achieved higher scores in reading and math than their peers nationally and in the South. This achievement holds steady among black, white and Hispanic students living in poverty.

Mississippi’s Rankings for NAEP Gains (2011 to 2022)

No. 1 in 4th grade mathematics
No. 1 in 4th grade reading
No. 3 in 8th grade math
No. 7 in 8th grade reading
Only state with significant gains in two of four tested subjects

Oh I see now you are not arguing about State any more, you want to talk about “demography”. I know , I know you want to talk about “ how bad black folks are” . how marvelous.

The progress in education in southern states in recent decades is very good and coincides with the states stopped being blue states.

I know , I know you don’t want to show any chart because that chart will show all the RED state are in S%%% place with people can’t live without Food stamps which are sent from blue state.

The chart will also show Alabama is one of the poorest state in USA.

I get it why you don’t want to show charts.

Incorrect, land is more valuable in red rural areas. Even blue areas in red states have lower prices of land because no one wants to live there. The combination of high crime rates, high homelessness, etc caused this.

You would never know if the land is valuable in rural red state, because no one is coming to buy them.

That’s incorrect, because you can simply go look yourself lol. Land in rural areas are more expensive than in the city. This is a reality you may not like, but remains true.

The point of the article was that people are leaving urban areas of blue states and moving to rural, small town, and exurban red states. There’s no sign of it letting up anytime soon.

It is true that land in red states is becoming more valuable as people fleeing blue states move there. Also true of red areas in blue states. As conservatives leave the cities and inner suburbs of a blue state and move within state to a distant like minded exurb, small town or rural county area the land and homes there become more valuable. I live in such a red area in a blue state and we are doing well.

People are not moving from NYC to rural area in red state, they are moving to Red state but in Atlanta, Austin, Phoenix , San Antonio.

Do you know what is happening to these cities, they are voting Democrat by millions an offsetting all the rural GOP vote and turning these Red state to blue.

Yes we had a disparate share of the demographic that nationwide is the disparate share of poverty. We also have a huge and strong and growing middle class with lots of job opportunities and an growing manufacturing base.

Which you fail to understand the actual reasons behind lol. Your surface level analysis of “because red or blue” is about what I expect from libs these days lol.

I was born in the Bronx and left New York for the Army at 18. I've lived in OK, MO, NJ, MA, NH, VA (3x), FL, Germany, Iraq, Israel, Turkey, UK and more. Six years ago, after almost 20 years in San Diego, we retired to Texas. Our relatively small town has three major hospital complexes, great restaurants, wonderful shopping, friendly people, extremely low crime, near the Gulf, two colleges, diverse businesses (from services, to manufacturing, to food production, to transport, to so much more)... people still say "Yes, Sir" and "No Ma'am" (including the kids), weather is temperate, and its just great.
May no one of the liberal persuasion ever discover this great place.

TEXAS!!! WHERE FREEDOM LIVES!! (from no state income tax to "Constitutional Carry" to few regulations... heck, we don't even put deposit down on bottles and cans!)
