the absolute worst genre that this is hit is horror. Love or hate horror it was always one of my favorites.

It seems for the past 10 years every horror movie is just sjw writers acting out their fantasies. They're all mega woke and every single one of them has some character with some weird sexual identity. Which wasn't rare and horror even back in the seventies but it wasn't the only thing that it was about.
Woke isn't about storytelling it's about lecturing. It's become a pejorative because people hate it so much.

Preachy self-righteous jackasses thinking they can lecture other people about the moralities that they don't have is never entertaining to anyone

I saw this stated once and although it's crude it's rather apt. It's like watching a porno and right at the peak it's interrupted with a 30 minute infomercial about how pornography is bad for you and you shouldn't be consuming it and that you can't skip this infomercial.

That's all woke entertainment is. In fact a kind of gag a little one I say the word entertainment in connection to it because it's not entertaining. If it at least had that people would overlook the woke stuff

As someone that until recently has seen everything Star Trek, Discovery is the only series I have been unable to finish. I am still stuck back at season 3. I think Strange New Worlds is an excellent show so it shows you they can make good Trek. It is some of the best Star Trek I have seen in decades. Star Trek Lower Decks is also very good. The other current Trek show I have problems with is Prodigy. Again I like seeing Janeway again but I really can not enjoy the show and I have tried.

If you are honestly going to say that in post #5 that you were not talking about Patrick Stewart and imply he was gay then I apologize for misunderstanding you.

Yes honestly going to say I never said specifically that Patrick Stewart was gay and post number five I didn't even mention the name Patrick Stewart.

    Apology accepted

That is not what I said but good enough. No gain in dragging it out.

Actually arranged marriages are still in many Hindi societies of India as well. Arranged marriages were still a staple in the US until the first half of the 20th century. At that time they were mostly immigrants, or Americans with immigrants (mail order brides), but they were still around.

Sorry, for all that he is a supporter of LBGT+, he's happily married to Sunny Ozell, who happens to be his third wife. But you would not be the first to make that mistake, especially if you are using his close friendship with Ian McKellen as the basis.

Arranged marriage is common in India today and it's informally happens in the West as well.

Patrick Stewart is gay? Isn't he married and have a couple of kids?

One of the more interesting minor characters, and unlike Picard, gay.

I wasn't referring to the subject of our discussion. I was talking specifically about my post to you in #79 with my apology for misunderstanding you. You changed what I wrote to specifically say you did not say Patrick Stewart or mentioned his name. I would not dispute you did not refer to him by name and my apology was for misunderstanding that you were really talking about any actor playing any role. My mistake was thinking you were talking about Patrick Stewart by implying it.

Because he literally (spoiler alert) is an old android. Picard died at the end of season one and season two was his robot copy running around being treated as if he's Picard.

I can't change what you wrote I don't have access to your profile.
you're dispute is with a straw man you fabricated. I didn't imply you inferred that's your mistake also.

Oh God that makes it worse than I thought so essentially it's a Westworld duplicate.

This is something I really hate about sci-fi they only have one idea right now and it's always everything is a computer simulation or you're really a robot and didn't know it.

I wasted time watching two seasons of Westworld to figure out what garbage it was. Peripheral seems to be going along those same lines 1899 was just a computer simulation why don't we have any ideas anymore?

It's like all these people saw the matrix and that's the only thing they can imagine. It was clever when they did it the 900th time you do that same plot line it's not clever anymore.

Now I got a whole new reason to hate Picard. It's a ****in **** ass Westworld.

But why not just accept my apology from what I wrote. Why did you feel the need to change and restate my words? My apology was sincere.

    I know. That's why I said it.

What did you think? I was referring to his flat acting or something? lol You understand why I said "the sheer ****ing hubris"? You think I just said randomly or did it actually reference one of the more **** scenes written out of character of the essence of a trek show?

    I did see post #80.

If you're asking why I don't just stop responding to you why don't you just stop responding to me
I can't change your words. I'm correcting your mistakes you claimed that I implied something no I didn't you inferred.

You could have left it alone when I accepted your apology. For me at that point it was water under the bridge.

If you want to keep rehashing it all keep telling you how you're wrong.

As a teen, I loved the original Star Trek reruns. IMO, they still hold up, though I rarely watch them anymore. The Capt. Kirk character, I envied/saw as a role model.

OTOH, the Next Generation series, I saw, from the start, as very lame storytelling, with rather boring, predictable, "messages." So I never really watched it.

Great character. His relationship with Bashir was rather bizarre. Bashir lacked personality.

I’m a huge Odo fan. He had a great arc. His ending was beautiful.

Agreed. I liked the quark his brother and nephew. The grand negas was annoying.

Bashir was a tool at first his character arc was interesting though

Picard was gay, or the actor? Patrick Stewart was (and perhaps still is .. not sure) married to a woman.
