Oh pfff... really? This is exactly along the line of the last cause total bs. Can you cut the crap?

I fail to see the problem. They were traitors to the US, losers of a war, a war where they were standing on very low ground morally speaking. And add these statues were paid by a white dude who bulldozered an entire block of houses to erect a white people only park with a statue of such a loser in it. To want that statue be where it is, is having a supportive attitude for losers, traitors, a racist cause paid by a racist.... and idolize it. Statues are about roll models. Your random hard working dude flipping burgers is a better roll model. Get over it.

This country may never heal from the wound of slavery and ti can be reasonably argued we never should. Certainly not in living memory of Jim Crow, which some contend was even worse. OTOH defacing statues of Grant, Douglass or even Thomas Jefferson is seriously misguided. "Woke" is often egregiously misnamed IMO. It should be called "addled" in many cases.

A statue is not a book. No one is trying to remove him from books. The only people trying to remove Civil War history from books are the Lost Causers who praise these statues.

Joe Biden is the last icon of Jim Crow. I am sure there are plans for a statue of him. Wonder if the wounds will ever heal of Muslims enslaving Christians?? I believe we need to remember history..... in the words of giannis antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, those who live in the past do it for their own ego. I am a Suns fan but I can't think of a better team to be beaten by. Giannis is a very wise immigrant to our country.

You want to call Confederate soldiers losers but they fought for a cause you don't totally understand. They fought hard and valiant. .....yet you are the "big man" that wants to call them losers. I just would like to reincarnate General Forrest and see you call him a loser to his face and put a white flag on his head. What he'd do to you would be pretty funny!

I bet had you served in the Lincoln Administration you would have ordered mass hangings of Confederates. You still speak division to this day. You seem to be a 1619 activist and against everything that makes America Great.

Uh no. They flattened an entire block where black people used to live, to make a nice park where only white people were welcome to see that larger than life statue on a massive pedestal. That's the setting of them praising their former leaders for their attempt to enslave black people for being black.

And I bet you would beat black pregnant people to death from running away from their slave owner if you lived back in the day, so there.

A "nice park".....well I don't know the particulars, but bet black people are allowed in that "nice park" and I bet there are black people that don't see them selves as hopeless victims like you do.

"And I bet you would beat black pregnant people to death from running away from their slave owner if you lived back in the day, so there."

And as to the above comment you made about me.....show me anywhere I have done or said anything that would imply I would do such a thing. I am sure I would have fought alongside of my abolitionist ancestors and I can envision you being a Democrat Copperhead.

I sourced it was a white only park.

You go first and point out how you conclude I would execute POW's.

Because you have pointed out your total disdain for those in that Confederacy 150 years later. You most likely would not have been one in the Union Army at Appomattox that respectively cheered those soldiers for their valor when they laid down their arms. There were others that wanted to hang officers and you very likely would have joined them. I don't even think you realize both Lee, and his "Old War Horse" Longstreet, became respected Americans after the war and contributed greatly. If you had a "greater vision and perspective" of what really happened in the CW, I think you would see it differently today and would stop picking old scabs.

The "lost cause" is a lie, and yes, they definitely praise them . . . you know, like by referring to them as "valiant warriors" . . . which is praise.

I would probably have hanged Nathan Bedford Forrest who founded the Klan and every other Klansman I could find. I would also keep the South under occupation and use the Union Army to make sure blacks were able to keep voting and that all the blacks who were legally elected to Legislatures were seated as they should have been.

White Supremacy is in direct and complete contradiction to everything that has made America Great, You need to read the Declaration of Independence if you dispute that.

Politically it was slavery. For Robert Lee it was merely the fact he would not stand for the invasion of his homeland. For many others that was the cause.
Oh I see, a social media tough guy! Wooooo your bad!

The CIA declared "white supremacy" our number one enemy. Do you know any? I sure don't. I haven't even seen any on the news. Just shows how weaponized our bureaucracies are. I have seen Marxist/racist organizations like BLM and I have seen building burnt and looted. I have read the Declaration of Independence and have seen our nation come around to stand by it's tenants. I am against slavery. I believe all people are children of our Creator. I do not believe in the revision of history and the left has that as it's goal. They did it in China......they can do it here.

Lee didn't contribute crap, since he died 5 years later as the head of a college. His college students had their own KKK chapter, where students when out to attempt to lynch black people and certainly raped black women. It can not be said that Lee did a lot against the violent racists who studied under his wing. It's certainly not that I show my "disdain" for the confederacy,... I'm just honest what the confed army stood for, with Lee as it's figurehead, while you deliberately look the other way and insert dishonest lost cause point of views.

Taking down the statue is a terrible thing to do - as hiding some cheese under a mattress does not make it go away - it only festers.

We should be learning from the mistakes of the past -not hiding them under the mattress. You keep the Statue - but put a plaque detailing the mistakes and how we have advanced.

These people wanting to tear down statues are morons.
