The current Hummer is an EV, and will no doubt disappear following the impending end of the EV mandate.

Yeah, it sucks when the rest of the country sees through that baloney and decides to not join you in your totalitarian ambitions.

    Democracy must drive you nuts.

I’m a fiscal Conservative and an Environmental liberal. One Party meets my personal agenda halfway, the other not at all. Simple 21st century fact - Republicans have held the presidency for 12 years since the Budget Surplus of 2000, and it’s been 12 years of skyrocketing deficits. I don’t anticipate any change in that regard. He promised a balanced budget in 2016 - nothing but hot air…

Deficits have continued under all presidents since Clinton.

Please get your facts straight. The deficit was reduced in 5 of Obama’s last 6 years.

You are making my point. Deficits were continuous. A reduced deficit remains a deficit.

Shows the fallacy of your logic, claiming your family budget is the same whether you ran a deficit of $5000 or $50000. Good one mate!

Deficits have been run by every President since Clinton. A family budget in deficit would remain a budget in deficit.

Last two budget surpluses came with GOP in charge of Congress.

You do understand that the last four, all greater than I trillion belong to Biden. Right?

As I stated, neither Party is fiscally Conservative. In Biden's first year, he inherited Trump's mismanaged COVID mess. The 2nd year, he reduced the deficit from those lofty COVID numbers. Beyond that, agreed, he should have done better. The interest on the debt is so voluminous now, that it will take a major effort - much Higher Top Tier Tax rates combined with spending cuts. Trump will do nothing except pour PREMIUM gasoline on this fire.

Do you not understand that "reducing the deficit" does not mean balancing the budget or reducing overall debt?

Do you not understand that accumulated debt is much worse with higher deficits?

As I said, every President since Clinton has added to the debt. None has reduced it or even held it steady.
And btw, according to your own chart in #2455 many of Obama's and Biden's deficits were larger than Trump's deficits except for the COVID emergency budget of 2020.

:roflol::roflol::roflol:I have to continue to laugh at your blind loyalty to MAGA world. Now you choose to ignore the greatest recession since the Great Depression, brought on by the incompetent GW Bush administration. Wow!

I voted against Trump three times, most recently this year.
I do, however, respect facts. Your #2466 was mere deflection. Yes, the recession of 2008 was significant, but its roots can be traced to administrations of both parties.

I think your view is more partisan and less factual. You're also off topic.

Yes, the subject has veered off-topic. Totally my fault of course…

So back on topic. The US political landscape would probably be more accepting of PHEVs than EVs.

PHEVs don’t have the hurdles that are prevalent with EVs. EVs threaten to end the need for middleman dealerships. Maintenance costs are so low that dealership warranties and service are unneeded. PHEVs still have the gas engine along with a lot of the other ICE complexities which require regular checkups and maintenance. Eventually consumers will realize this, and EVs will be KING, but for now PHEVs represent a slower weaning of the ICE inefficiency

The US consumer landscape still largely doesn't give a rip about PHEVs either.

And I suppose you’ve never driven a PHEV either?
