every movement that requires accentuated government control over private property is seen as a useful tool by control freaks. environmental activists, gun banners, animal rights whackos, among others

Private control is solely based on profit, to the detriment of social cohesion. Government control is the will of the ppl. You're really just pushing a capitalist agenda which can only prevail by making ppl poor.

Government control is the will of the folks who control the government. Profit is what makes doing things worthwhile? Do you toil at a loss?

In fake democracy yes, you are correct. Unfortunately our white governments are exactly that and corrupt to the core. The devil runs the world/government.

Its $30K for a solar system that still wouldnt power my house in the winter. Its another $30K for a USED car that doesnt run on fossil fuel, and another $15K for a solar system that could charge that car enough to drive it everyday. And that all has to be replaced every 20 years or so. Are you suggesting that 'Repubs' are all sitting on ~$100K they simply refuse to spend on renewables? Cuz I'll let you in on a little secret- conspiracy theory right wing nut job zombie apocalypse preppers LOVE getting off the grid, and they're the first ones to do it ...as soon as they can afford it.

If that were the people legacy energy companies would not be getting billions in subsidies.

Conservative estimates put U.S. direct subsidies to the fossil fuel industry at roughly $20 billion per year; with 20 percent currently allocated to coal and 80 percent to natural gas and crude oil.

Nobody should be getting subsidies unless absolutely necessary. Keeping energy affordable [although anti-market] is the best thing you can do for poor people world-wide. The entire global economy runs on energy, so until alternative sources can be produced cheaply, you only use them in niche areas [like for homes in sunny areas]. Wind turbines are hideous.

Keeping energy affordable will uplift hundreds of millions more and save millions of lives in the bargain.
