I've noticed for years now that Google no longer gives "politically undesirable" search results that used to be easy to find.

Those who would suppress free speech are on the march.
    January 30, 2023
Is Freedom of Speech at Risk at the University of Washington?

Freedom of speech is the essential foundation for a democratic society. It is also a requirement for a functioning university. Freedom of expression is particularly protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution for public entities such as universities.

Disturbingly, a number of groups have noted serious problems regarding freedom of speech at the University of Washington. Groups both inside and outside the institution.

The Report of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE)

FIRE is a highly respected non-partisan group dedicated to protecting freedom of speech at U.S. colleges and universities. Recently, it released a detailed report on freedom of speech at over 200 American colleges/universities, based on input from tens of thousands of students and faculty, as well as the review of materials from each institution.

The University of Washington was the lowest-rated of any public university in the nation.

Let me repeat: the UW was at the bottom of a long list of major public universities/colleges regarding freedom of speech. In fact, the UW was rated as "code red" for "clearly and substantially restricting freedom of speech.". . . .

The city of Seattle has gone bonkers in recent years, but it has been a long running leftist stain that gets worse and worse, I no longer visit that place even bypass their famous Zoo, Aquarium, massive Ferris Wheel and the Pike Place Market my brother left it all 4 years ago after being there for 50 years who knew Dr. Mass personally and showed me Dr. Mass climate blog.

The city is in decline culturally as well not worth to visit anymore as it is a leftist hellhole.

The relentlessly dishonest anti-fossil-fuel hate propaganda campaign is doing horrifying, perhaps irreparable damage to the credibility of not only climatology and the mainstream media, but science itself.

University Experts say climate change causes Earthquakes. Let’s stop quakes with solar panels then?

    By Jo Nova

    Excerpt:

Blame Exxon for the dead children of Turkey, eh? It’s not the corrupt building codes, the crustal plates, or the solar magnetic field. Climate change sets off earthquakes, you know.

A High Priest Ecologist has read the chicken entrails and prophesies that things will get worse. Your car creates earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis — unless it’s an EV. It’s hard to satirize this, it’s too stupid.

    LINK

    ==============

The warmist/alarmist desperation grows more obvious over time as their stupid Climate Crisis propaganda is well exposed as utter nonsense.

Swiss Politician Calls On Making Climate Denial A “Criminal Offence”…Obstructs “Effective Measures”!
    By P Gosselin on 2. April 2023

Alarmed Swiss green politician: Challenging alarmist climate change claims and questioning the urgency to act drastically should be made a crime…

Saying “Climate change is mostly natural,” could be a criminal offence, if Swiss politician Valentine Python gets her way. Image: Swiss Parliament site.

Climate change for some has turned into a real doomsday cult, where a small group of people has excessive control over its members and require unwavering devotion. The climate cult members are in fact so brainwashed that they are convinced it’s the Gospel Truth and that disagreement is heresy of dangerous criminals. So it’s not surprising some climate cult members are calling for a Catholic Church model Climate Inquisition to root out and punish the heresy.

Marcel Odermatt of Switzerland’s online WELTWOCHE reports on how one Swiss Green politician wants to make “climate-sceptic statements”, i.e. free speech, a criminal offence.

Green National Councillor Valentine Python, 47, is calling for “climate denial” to be declared a crime. . . .

How the Disinformation Industrial Complex is destroying trust in science

Much has changed in science since the pandemic and much of it is change for the worse. The pandemic has highlighted the loss of credibility of the public health establishment and the often toxic nature of current public discourse. John Ioannidis stands out as perhaps the best example of a fine scientist who was smeared and denigrated mercilessly both online and in the literature. There was also a flood of fraudulent papers and badly flawed studies. This made claims that we should follow the “The Science” almost laughable, given the extremely poor quality of much of the science. The use of coercion was inexcusable when there was no rigorous basis for it.

Global Warming activists have been playing Ring a Ring o' Rosie with the truth for decades.

"We already think of the tension between "truth" and "error" as the basis of scientific knowledge. Perhaps the tension between "truth" and "deceit" in a similar way is the basis of our political life (perhaps of all our social life), and life is itself a continuing contradiction between rival definitions of truth. The only world that then would be accessible to us would be a world conveyed in definitions and meanings; and "truth" would become "truths" referring to a plurality of contested coherence-truths. In other words, truth would be relative to particular systems and there would be no universal truth. Have we, then, solved the problem of objectivity by just walking round it?"
THE PREVALENCE OF DECEIT, F. G. Bailey, Cornell University Press, Ithaca, NY 1991. p 102.

Combating disinformation and lies is not the "orwellian" problem you think it is. There is nothing wrong with ensuring people are told the truth.

Follow the Money Find the Crooks.

"The myths, the myth of noblesse oblige (that privilege entails responsibility), are charters for repressive regulation. The statement of incompetence presents a moral and political judgment as if it were a technical matter. Positions of privilege are deemed to require command of an esoteric language or some other restricted knowledge that is available only to those few who inherit the right to receive the requisite training or can afford to purchase it."
THE PREVALENCE OF DECEIT, F. G. Bailey, Cornell University Press, Ithaca, NY 1991.p. 83.ion

Which probably explains why there is usually so much resistance to following the money.

“He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them. But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion... Nor is it enough that he should hear the opinions of adversaries from his own teachers, presented as they state them, and accompanied by what they offer as refutations. He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them...he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.”

Why is DeSantis the denier hero?

Censorhip. Boy howdy, do deniers lovelovelove their censoring heroes. Embracing censorship is now required for any conservative officeholder.

DeSantis is their very favorite fascist, because he actually sends thugs to arrest people for having dissenting opinions. That's the fascist future that deniers want to see implemented everywhere -- upset the party, get sent to the camps.

I'm just pointing out how the two sides are polar opposites. Liberals fight for free speech, conservatives fight to end free speech.
